  • I will be diving in to the concept of a adaptable edc/get home bag as well as taking a look at the Helikon-tex urban raider backpack. Also check out brass facts video on his take! • Get Home Bag/Urban Car...

Very good backpack. I've had Raider for several years, no problems, I take it everywhere, to the forest, fishing, to the city, to work.

My experience has shown me that I should never start with a large bag because I always fill it up. Hence, I use a Maxpedition versapack, had it for 20 years and use it on hikes, camping trips and take it with me in my work truck every day. It’s small and doesn’t look like it has much in it but I carry water 2 qt nalgene , food some honey zingers and some high fat pack bars, fire, full size pistol, 4 mags, holster, mag carrier, head lamp that detaches and is also a handheld light, blowout kit, notepad/pen, nylon tarp, and wetwhipes. I always have a few things in my pockets.

Feel Free to comment. Also forgot to repack my folding saw and small waterproof bag. In addition this pack does have a single external frame in the center. This bag will adapt and evolve just like i will and perhaps i will update in the future!

Nice setup with some slick ideas. You showed a pic of your rifle, the pack, and some sort of sling/chest pack? What was that?

It was a fanny pack i put some velcro mag inserts in. Dont really use it anymore unless i want to carry my handgun concealed off body.

i would recommend a skull crusher for your NVG its compact enough to fit in a corner of your bag and it gives u a head mounting option 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Great video. Lots of detail.
Do you think the shoulder straps are good for someone with wide shoulders/broad chest? Also does it come with a rain cover?
    Thankyou

I think the shoulder straps are pretty solid and I have somewhat wide shoulders. It does come with a nifty rain fly built in the bottom pouch I just took mine out.

@@protectpersevere2030 Thanks for the reply I got the rucksack and it’s solid. No complaints and yes the rain cover has been very useful of late. Peace

Anyone going around with a ruck has a target on their back, because it says there might be something of value in it!

Not sure how old u are or if u have a wife or kids or a family. This is way too much stuff for a “get home” bag. It needs to be light so u can move as fast as u can. The last thing I’m worried about when I’m trying to get home to my family is having a bunch of heavy gear. Gimme my edc gun, knife, and flashlight along with some water and a couple granola bars and I can get home to my family as fast as possible. It’s crazy how many people think that they’re going to lose an arm on their way home too. Worst case if I need something I can find it on the way home.

I tried to explain the bag like brass facts did as not a dedicated bug out bag or any other “name” bag. It’s a modular platform for any situation that can be scaled up or down depending on situation. I agree that if the only mission was to get home all I would really need is water, food, edc handgun, and a shelter element. However the other 99% possible incidents i want to be somewhat prepared for. So A rifle/Med/Armor/ Extra food and water/ Sleeping gear isn’t a bad idea. Also the bag with everything in it isn’t that heavy and i can cover ground pretty fast with it if speed was necessary especially if i start dropping gear
