  • It had been a long time since I updated my EDC System. As we get towards winter, I felt it would be best to convert my system form a shoulder bag to a backpack. Winter time has many unknowns...and requires a bit more gear to be carried...more weight and difficult weather conditions means two straps is definitely helpful!!

The fold up dump pouch in the side is brilliant. Will definitely be stealing that idea

I was a building engineer for years and I always carried the metal teeth cleaning kit and a mini ice pick surprisingly they’ve saved my ass many times U don’t get how useful they are until you actually work in a field where u have to fix stuff on the fly and quick great tools.

Structural engineer...like design? Or more like building systems?

Basically worked on the structure for a company with 100s off buildings but They had me work with 13 buildings south of Boston basically heats out leaky roof firefighters kicked in a locked door type of stuff it was a decent job except being on call one week on one off at night that sucked

Very cool setup I need to work on my bugout bag but my get home bag which is the 511 sling bag is completely pimped out with everything I could need to get home and more the stuff in my get home bag is probably worth 3 times what I paid for the bag hopefully it’s never stolen or I’m out $400 great video love what you have done with your setups 👍.

Isn't it crazy how much you can spend to load up a bag. The key is having stuff you'll actually use. I used to pack way too much and never use my gear. I've been really diggin the backpack!

Definitely exspensive I don’t use a chunk of the what if kinda stuff but I like to have it all it’s a mixture of a hobby and being insane😁

That Backpack would be perfect for Travel as a carry on bag. I am traveling to Thailand next summer. I am bringing One carry on that's it. The Helikon Tex would be perfect. That Emdom USA is very cool t too !

The Emdom organizer is genius...I really love that...I go into it for something all the time now that I have it. The Raider Backpack is very solid and a wonderful carry...I have been really loving it!

Are you still using this pack? And would you still recommend it? I haven’t seen a whole lot a reviews and can’t afford to get a pack that won’t last.

I use it every single day. I can say I LOVE that bag, and I really love the system I built. It has been perfect. In that outer pouch I have been carrying my winter gloves and winter hat every day. It saves me time and time again!

I greatly appreciate your response. Like I said I can’t afford to just buy any back just hoping it’ll work out. I have to know it’ll work for me. After viewing every video I can on it I think I’ll pick one up for myself. Thanks again.

Hi there! Nice and complete review. I like how you are not too over-technical while you explain the features and also the way you film everything.
I want to order the same backpack, but I have an issue: choosing the color. I know this shouldn't be such a big deal, but for me it is!
I wanted to get Coyote, but then I saw this review (in Polish, so I just checked the pictures...) and noticed that the PALS/MOLE system, the handles, the Velcro panel and the 2 sides of the in built beaver tail are actually Adaptive Green color.
    here's a link to it: gearinferno.eu/helikon-tex-raider/
My favorites are the PenCott versions (Greenzone, Woodland, Badlands) but quite honestly these A-TACS is also nice (I think it's the iX-Camo if I don't mistake it)
I am looking to get their UTP Pants and A Patriot Heavy Fleece Jacket too, but these have some other colors I like such as Coyote, Olive Green, Jungle Green, Foliage Green, and some other camo patterns which I will not mention since they differ from the backpack and thus it makes no sense to me to get those.
What would you suggest I do?
(I will use this backpack for hikes mainly, and maybe some city breaks around Europe)
Sorry for the long post, just trying to finalize this ordeal :)))
    Cheers mate!

I think the color in the video is Adaptive Green. I have one pair of pants in that color, but all their choices are great. You can't go wrong! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it. Lots of work, but I enjoy it!

@@outerlimitless i hipe I like the camo. There is literally no real picture on the internet on this specific backpack. There is only the one from Helikon's site, but that's the same as greenzone and woodland and it is clearly just color graded. I hope the real one looks good.
Can't believe I'll be the first person to ever review it ;)
