If there is a chance of freezing temperatures, you need to move your Sawyer filter to your pants pocket or an interior jacket pocket. The filter will be ruined if it freezes. You will not be able to tell if it is damaged from freezing.
@@Thedannyb1978 right on! Definitely something I’ve picked up on along with batteries and other miscellaneous stuff
Hi there! Nice kit) We can understand what we actually need only when we start to use the gear at the real conditions
There was a video from Grunt Proof where he talked about his Tigris One kit, I got two different loadouts that can carry up to 12 AR mags. Anyway, Randal (GruntProof) mentioned that eight mags could assist you to sustain a five minute firefight which makes sense if you're out doing patrols or holding down security.
@@Magilla.Guerrilla right on Grunt proof is a great dude! I think 6-8 should be the standard but wanting to flex to a heavier setup makes sense. I think how you carry it makes a big difference. 12 mags in my lfr with a 6 point harness feels lighter than a regular chest rig to me
supplement to belt kit is a good idea

brah you reinvented the Alice kit. Might as well skip the whole tailoring and just buy a belt and harness. Neat idea tho.
@@ANukeWithLegs I mean with that logic you could say the Alice is just reinvented from WW2 lbe like the BAR belt and that’s just reinventing from ww1. All gear is similar but I’d argue there are differences from both materials and function
And I think that it’s better to store a hemostatic gauze, than bandage. Because of non-massive bleeding can be stopped by direct pressure easily. And junction bleeding cannot be stopped easily.
@@Slava_Chornovil I will say hemogauze is marginally better than regular but I have a thing of regular compressed gauze and s rolled guaze that can handle both
Mainly just hemo is way more expensive and expires fast
@@protectpersevere2030 I can tell you my experience (I’m a paramedic from Ukraine), and I want to tell, that it’s very difficult to pack a junction wound and bleeding with ordinary gauze.

I think it's a niche concept. The Marines are doing it right with the M27. The heat issue at the bolt is not a issue like a DI system. And the fact HK has a better barrel steel to handle the stresses of sustained rates of fire makes it a viable option. But in the grand scheme of things. I think you aren't going to get much more sustained rates of fire from a DI/IP setups than just running a regular AR. Lot of heat. And you are adding unneeded weight. I think in the LARPY Minute Man scenario area of denial is going to have to be accurate fire. Dispersing on contact. Living to fight another day. This concept ties you to one thing. A defensive posture. No bueno. Especially without fortification. And...Especially due to the fact you only have small arms to defend it with. It'd be different if I had a mortar section trailing and had arty on call. I get the fact people have property and may want to defend it. And communities as well. Know when hold'em and know when to fold'em. And then there's ammo expenditure. For no really good reason. I'd be more scared of a guy that can run a bolt gun and head shoot you. Than some dimwit blowing off his ammo trying envelop me with his beer drinking buddies. Doing bounding overwatch to the tune of heavy breathing. And some cardiac arrest mixed in.
@@DutchK75 I mean everything in this realm is kinda niche. The iar is pretty cool but even this setup is better than the average 16in government barrel. I agree with you that Accurate fire at range vs sheer RPS is better but that’s also what this will do well. It’s got an accurate barrel that will maintain the same Accuracy even after several mags which some guns don’t. Also I mentioned hasty ambushes and whatnot so I don’t think this weapon is bound to any defensive position but gives you options. I have bolt guns but similar to the SPR concept it has to be first “A Fighting Rifle” especially in a small squad or even two man lp op. At the end of the day accuracy and success is 90% the human part and less the gear setup. Thanks for watching
Go get a magpul dt or pr stock for an easy spot to grip with your support hand for recoil management
@@ExplorinInTheWoods yah those are nice
Yeah buddy! Thats what Im talking about! Where I live is relatively open terrain. A lot of bolt guns for long range, but then they have sbr type rifles for self defense. This rifle setup right here is what they need! Throw a 60rnd mag on that son of a gun!
Definitely. I always liked the idea of beefing up your standard carbine and running it as support. Some 60s, a "long" barrel and a bipod can get a lot done!
@@johnkorn1810 thanks for watching! Might have to try some d60s

@@woodsghost9088 thanks for watching! Never had the pleasure of using a Harris but I’ve heard they’re pretty nice. I think dual 30s are just the most practical but I’m currently still debating maybe coupled 40s or drums in the future

I bought 2 uppers from Focus & both are still running good.
He puts out some great stuff
I’m gonna ask him if he can put quad rail on MK4
Ive been wondering how this setup would work without the RRH heat sink. Still a RS gas block. I dont mind getting a RRH upper, but I like to tinker.
The rrh heat sink is just aluminum pipe with fins pressed onto the barrel and beryllium copper wire wound over the gas tube. Imo an easier way to achieve the same thing would be to buy the the aluminum pipe (or copper for that matter) lathe in the fins, split the pipe in half and use constant pressure clamps to affix to barrel. The id of the pipe would have to be undersized to ensure constant contact through heat expansion but it would be cheaper than the rrh setup and removable. And if you did it in copper that’s gonna shed heat a lot faster, with a weight penalty. But hey probably still lighter than a m249, still cheaper than one, and can throw down and maintain a higher fire rate than a normal rifle.
Also go buy some stuff from focus trip
His OF is 🔥🔥🔥
MK3 from Focus is my favorite
Yeah buddy! I think the BGM is great but probably 10% too loud and you might want to normalize your audio from different positions, so it doesn't jump way up in volume at the end of the video.

Interesting... ;) as a mesh vest enjoyer I am glad you are as well. Cool modifications you have done here, very practical.
We used to put can goods inside our spare socks. MREs suck. You can do hammocks really tactical. Keep it low. They make great fueld chairs. Preface: a hammock is a piece of med kit. It can be used as a stretcher. Also, for a heat casualty, strip him naked, put him in a hammock, soak him and the hammock... then gently rock the hammock. It's instant jungle AC. 1) try sleeping in a dug in fighting position without one. Try sleeping in the back of a 2-1/2 ton as its moving without one. In the desert... string it up between vehicles. 2) Tics, chiggers, snakes, and other creepy crawlies will degrade your health in a short time. Getting up off the ground... even 6" is enough to keep you healthy. We used to use paracord diy extenders to lower the Alice bekt below the kidney pad on the Alice Ruck. That system sucked. We preferred small Made in Korea Alice packs with no frame.
Hammocks are definitely a Godsend
@protectpersevere2030 My father's unit had their hammocks custom made in Vietnam. I carried it with me 20 yrs later, and I still have it although it's now a family war relic and no longer used.
