I also love how he'd parry and also trap a guard hand to get through. Joe Louis was a masterful boxer. IMO greatest heavyweight of all time, had the most title defenses in heavyweight history.

when I started boxing 14 years ago Joe Louis was my model for throwing the perfect punch, and even though I am no longer active, I'm still trying to punch like him...his punches are not wild so don't look as spectacular as some of the wild swingers you may see, but in my opinion he punched as hard as anyone ever! Short, crisp, and devastating, and swift combinations... the perfect puncher

As great as tyson was he was a front runner not saying he couldn't catch joe early but look at tyson vs holyfield or buster douglas they weathered the early storm and tyson got discouraged & tired then he lost. Joe hit just as hard as tyson if not harder & was as fast as tyson maybe faster i might give tyson a very slight edge on technique minus the jab. Would've loved to see this fight. I love tyson by the way had he had more discipline he would've been the goat in my opinion.

Joe was nowhere near as fast as Tyson, come on mate! 😆
As for hard hitters, i honestly believe nobody hit harder than Mike!
When i say this, i am talking about Tyson in his prime 'late teens/early twenties'.
At this point in time, Tyson was literally unstoppable! It's later in his career that he lost his drive and focus and became unstable. The young *FEROCIOUS* Tyson that Cus D'amado created was unbeatable. Tyson is the GOAT, and it's only going to be after he dies that he gets the true recognition that he deserves.
I'm not taking anything away from Joe, but Tyson was a GOD!

For a brief time he was god or at least could've been... i agree but i think you need reintroduce yourself with joe. tyson was fast & hit hard but so did joe. He was way faster with his hands then anyone he faced in his prime just look at his videos it speaks for itself & both had 1 punch ko power most time he hit someone flush with a cross or left hook it dazed or dropped men several lbs. Heavier then him. Like i said just look at his fights.
