Great!! I hope so! I don’t collect to make money, I collect because I love comic books. If I can get my hands on some older more valuable books for less than I will even if my collections value goes down too!
Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt was never owned by DC. After Charlton sold his characters to DC Peter Cannon right was retaining by his creator Peter A. Morisi who signed his worked as PAM cause cops couldn’t have second jobs in NY. In the 2000s his family licensed the character to Dynamite cause DC wasn’t doing anything with him, or something like that
That's a good point. Will that dumping happen more regularly in the future? Time will tell! I agree that must happen for my prediction to come true. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I agree that there are more to come, just not enough to flood the GA market. There will certainly be hundreds of collections coming to market, but they are unlikely to be high grade and unlikely to have the very valuable rare stuff.
Fair point and you might be right. I especially agree that it will be unlikely that the comics that come to market are high grade. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of collections are destroyed every year. Natural disasters, fire, water leaks, etc. I lost thousands of books during Hurricane Katrina. Wouldn't those losses counter balance any amount of found collections? Not expecting completely symmetry, but it has to be accounted for.
@@Geoffreydarcy-pv4mq Great point and I actually talked about that here: ruclips.net/video/c36xwTQB_Kg/видео.html There are certainly several market forces at play and like you mention, it's difficult to to know how much each one offsets the other. And, man, sorry to hear about those losses during Hurricane Katrina. That's brutal.
Yes, I’m a bit of hoarder myself! I’m in the process of purchasing a friend’s childhood card collection from the late 60’s and early 70’s and they are in their early 60’s. Great theory, Wahoo, thanks for sharing and Good Collecting👍❤️
You collect so many different types of things...I'm jealous, haha. I hope you show off some of the cards from the collection you buy. Thanks for the support as always!
I hear you. Do you think the biggest threats to the US are domestic, foreign or natural forces? Or some combination? Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great point. There are definitely several market forces at play and an increase in demand through an influx of collectors would certainly offset any increase in supply. Time will tell!
@@wahoocomics I think one of the main factors is if Disney keeps pushing the marvel mythology. @@MetalBum For sure and this is one of the reasons why I think comics have an advantage over collectibles like sports cards. Theoretically Spider-man can have new stories coming out forever, but Tom Brady won't be making any new ones on the field. That's awesome that your kids are going to be superheroes! A big part of this hobby having staying power will also be how much us collectors are able to pass it down to our kids. I hope yours have a great Halloween!
Flawed theory. You would have to assume this hasn't been part of collecting all along. There's nothing new under the sun. Most of the collectors from the 1940s, and 1950s have long since passed. Keeping hope alive ? Good on you. I love the positive vibes.
Thanks and good point. Of course, this is all just speculation, but my guess is that a lot of those original collections passed onto and have been held by boomers and that their coming back onto the market will accelerate in the next 10-20 years. I could be totally wrong, but it's fun to think about, haha.
Yeah, man, I just have no emotional connection or nostalgia connected to Golden Age books (other than something like Batman keys if I were able to get any of them)
That's a fair point. I'll offer one counterpoint. Out of all comics, probably the value of Golden Age books is tied to their scarcity more than any other era. If that scarcity changes when Boomers pass on and the comics come out of their attic, then those values are just waiting to come down. Will that happen? Time will tell! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@wahoocomicsplenty of silver age comics have come to market by boomers over the years, I don’t believe there are tons of golden age comics waiting to flood the market.
