I wish they would show exactly what the ascension pass looks like so we know if they are even worth it. Have they mentioned exactly what 23 gods are included?
I believe it'll be all of the base characters released when the full game drops but I'm not certain. Also every character that was included in the Alpha.
TLDR think of it like buying a premium battlepass rewards for a god vs the free track everyone has. Unless they let me choose which gods, I don't play the older gods too much anymore so the 30$ is good enough for me.
Also stat trakers were a thing in smite back in the day but people were basing peoples skill off of there kills and asist and stuff got pretty toxic but im looking forward to it
I think I stopped playing Smite 1 about five years ago - because they had moved away from the season pass or whatever it was called where you pay once a year, play a reasonable amount, get everything "subscription" thing that I felt was reasonable value, and moved towards the battle passes which was more like pay six times a year AND play a totally unreasonable amount of smite to get everything; I think I once worked out that I'd have to play the game for two hours a day to complete a battle pass. I have no idea what it's like now. I'm kind of contemplating trying Smite 2, but if that too becomes a grind, that will probably turn me off the game permanently. I get that the game needs money to keep going and I did buy a bunch of skins, but they were asking too much with battle passes. It seems like these ascension passes are also time limited? I don't know, but that's also a huge turn-off. If I buy into Smite 2, it's going to be with the basic founder's pack (if I even do that - it's kind of paying to be an alpha tester).
I think you should give Smite 2 a try when it comes out; or even when the open beta drops. So far while it is still in it's alpha stage, I'd say, even though there are many features that need work... I enjoyed the fluidity and changes from the matches I played.
@ogvelle If I get the founding piece, Will it be the same as in the season pass? So is there a deadline? Does anyone know because I'm so busy that I won't have time to play much after purchasing? I dont want to waste my money if there is period of time for that.
If you were to get the deluxe or ultimate edition of the founders pack. It would save you money ahead of time depending on if you wanted ascension passes for the starting characters, however, if you were to wait it out and purchase passes separately for each character I think they said something about them being $10 per character but I might be wrong.
I’ve not preordered a game in years, but I’ll probably get the regular founders edition. It feels like a waste to get ascension passes for gods I hardly play. That being said, I’m stoked for smite 2 it’s looking promising.
