    brilliant informative video. For advanced flyers yes i agree, but normal non youtuber just flying auto settings all day long on the mini 4

    • @amoktimeflies
      @amoktimeflies  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeh - subjective opinion is that using pro settings and sticking to the 180 rule does get slightly better results. BUT you then get limited / interrupted as soon as you turn and face the sun, but even then, you do still get a nice effect.... Ted does seem to know what he's on about 😉🖖

      There's no money in reverse engineering these things. Not yet, anyway. The FPV class is where the competitors and innovators live. Perhaps we'll meet there, someday.

    Do ND filters have any effect in enhancing the clouds? And would you remove them entirely when shooting at sunset?

    • @amoktimeflies
      @amoktimeflies  4 месяца назад +1

      That's a really good question, thank you! Yes they do as they stop the sky from being completely 'blown out' and over exposed. As far as removing at sunset - if shooting stright into the sun I might stick a low strenght ND on such as an ND8 or possibly 16, but it depends on how strong the sun is. For long exposure definitely though - ND 8 through blue hour long exposure as well - as I did in this recent vid... ruclips.net/video/PbSANaUw-DQ/видео.htmlsi=Q5KR5Gj-gwUif1sA

      DJI have said it’s not possible with the RC2 so I’d assume it’s the same with RC1. That being said you can plug it into a monitor via HDMI just not a mobile device
      A friend cracked his RC2 screen to the point it would work and forced to buy a new controller.

    • @amoktimeflies
      @amoktimeflies  8 месяцев назад +1

      I think the question was about transferring the screen recording rather than watching the live feed. I was going to check tonight as there has been an update to the controllers that allows transfer of cached media - just not sure if it’s available for screen recordings though…

    Whoa
    Love this channel.
    Btw can i ask what are the ND filter that are essentials?
    I can buy them piece by piece in my country.
    May i know ur pick on which nd filter would you only use?
    I dont want to spend alot to get too many nd filter thats i eventually dont need

    • @amoktimeflies
      @amoktimeflies  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thankyou! That’s a very good question - if I could only have one then my pick would be an ND32 - this is my default filter day to day, just because of the mix of weather we have in the UK.
      If you have mainly very bright days with few clouds I would possibly recommend the ND64 and conversely if you have mainly cloudy days then possibly an ND16.
      If you live near water then possibly try to find a polarised ND32 as this would help with reflections and also give more of a saturated look to the image of the sky (which some people like).
      I hope that’s helpful and thanks for watching!🖖

      @@amoktimeflies Hi thank you for the reply

      Kinda hard to find n64

    • @amoktimeflies
      @amoktimeflies  5 месяцев назад

      I use ND64 on very bright cloudless days in the UK so if your weather is primarily like that then I would try to seek one out. Obviously if you are shooting at dawn or dusk though, you may want to take it off. 🖖 oh - and thanks for the sub!

    • @amoktimeflies
      @amoktimeflies  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Johnny - I'm kindof in the habit of using them now - tend to keep and ND 32 on as standard. I think this vid sort of shows that there isn't a *massive* amount of difference, but it does add 'nuance'... and yeh - need more sun to get the best use of those higher grade ND filters! (I symapthise with ya mate 🥲🤣)
      Thanks for watching and the comment 🖖

  • @thegarageluthier

    • @amoktimeflies
      @amoktimeflies  8 дней назад

      🤣🤣I guess so, but I did hear a rumour that you get about 30 minutes of clear sky once every couple of years, so if you do have an ND64 you may still get some use out of it! Thanks for watching! 🖖

    I bought the set of six Skyreat Mini 4 Pro ND Filters from Amazon. Last week was the first time I have flown the drone in really bright sunshine. So I went for the ND64. Very, very disappointing. The filter caused a lot of flare, and also seemed to be internally reflective, cause a rainbow effect. As I've missed the return window, I'm £40 down the drain now. Might be my example, poor coating, but to me these filters cannot be trusted to deliver image quality.

    • @amoktimeflies
      @amoktimeflies  2 месяца назад

      Sorry to hear that, and yes there are better quality ones out there (Freewell). There's always likely to be some very slight colour shift - almost impossible for there not to be, but sounds like you must have had a bad batch or something. I had an incident recently where my Skryreat ND64 cracked (admittedly I did crash the drone!) I replaced it with one from Freewell. I suppose at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Will definitely be patient and wait for Freewell to release theirs when the Mini 5 Pro comes out.
      All the best and thanks for your comment - at least it will help others make the right choice. 👍🖖
