Yo, Scott! That was awesome! You are teaching my hubby and me so much! We have been posting our very first drone videos on RUclips. Comment and Question: Great video and I appreciate the mix of information and humor. That was humor, right? :) So you mention you were using 3 batteries, were these the sub 249 batteries or the Plus batteries? Thanks a million sir.
Hey Larry! Thankyou so much - Yes it's the kind of self deprecating humour us Brits have drilled into us from birth, so it comes quite naturally! And secondly - It's almost impossible here in the UK and EU to get the Plus batteries, so nope - those were the standard batteries with roughly about 20 (terribly tortured) charge cycles each. Thanks for you comment! All the best! 🖖
I saw another video that shows a fix for the gimbal looking up problem. Try selecting the ground instead of yourself. Or- make sure the drone is above you, when you select yourself.
Enjoyed the video. I'm in US and to fly over people you need prop guards. the prop guards disable the OA. Which i wonder if i get more skilled I won't need? Did light to see you using the strobe light at night. Do you ever use it in the daytime?-
Cheers Harry - if you’re far enough up not having the OA really shouldn’t be a problem (because there shouldn’t be anything ‘up there’ obvs 😉😂) In that situation for Takeoff and landing would suggest watching the drone rather than using the screen on the controller for the best situational awareness. I don’t tend to use the strobe in the daytime as I normally (try!) to keep the drone in good VLOS (but it would help on those odd occasions when you’re looking up front m the screen and ‘hunting’ the sky for your UAV!) All the best and thanks for watching! 🖖

You know, that you can change the Direction the Drone is facing after locking in the course when doing a Hyperlapse in Course Lock mode? Your left to right hyperlapse is way faster to start and you can do a 500 shot Hyperlapse on one battery this way - no need for setting waypoints first - it is my most used way to do hyperlapses ^^
Thanks for pointing that out! Yeh - I am planning on going into a deeper dive on the hyperlapse functions in the future - this was more of a quick summary. Might take a bit of practice to do a 500 shot course lock left to right - would need to do a bit of maths to make sure I don’t accidentally go BVLOS!. Thank for your comment & thanks for watching!🖖
@@amoktimeflies depends on the speed and your location. But this way you can get sideways motion in pretty good. Worst case: you have to walk a few steps while the drone is flying :D
Amok, today I discovered another mystery, I calibrated my drone and as I took off all commands froze, only obstacles avoidance was functioning and I could not catch drone by hand and had to wait battery to exhaust , drone was raised about 3 m height. @@nardesh127 did you try switching it to sport mode - if it won’t descend when I’m hand catching I normally do that.
