Let's see what team Hyderabad assembles. They had purse to chase Kishan and still did not go the distance. Batting consisting of Abhishek, Garg, Tripathi and Sundar against Bumrah, Milne will confirm this point
I thought Punjab would make a hard push for Kishan,Iyer or Padikkal but when they spent 8 crores for Dhawan, they sent a message saying they trying to secure their present rather than book their future.
They will atleast get 2 if not 4 seasons for Dhawan very easily. If they make him captain to grom mayank etc then it would be good but him as captain would not be a good option both for his performance or for future team work. His low strike rate years were when he was given captaincy of srh.
same goes for rcb…broke their bank on dk as well + anuj rawat instead of say,a Shahrukh Khan which is quite understandable. They want an immediate success not the future build teams
Kishan is way overpriced at 16, yes they could have bid for Iyer but I don't think that would have been a sensible move after getting Dhawan, because Mayank and Iyer both pace their innings in similar fashion, no point of buying DDP when you have a settled and experienced top 3. Talking about future, teams will be reshuffled again.
@@gauravpatel8379 no I think RR are okay. Yes, they don't have a lot of money left but out of the 11 players they have bought, 10 are part of the starting XI. So that way they have done well. They just need one more good pacer to complete the playing XI. Either Indian or overseas. Which they should get fairly easily.
I not blaming delhi.. I am just saying that because of delhi's smart strategy, rr left with bit less money. But RR got some good players at end of auction
A lot of unsold players will also come back and some might get picked up as well. David Miller, Sam Billings, Adam Zampa, Mohd Nabi. They all played in the last season so I'm sure most of them will get picked up this time round as well.
They already have good option I think they need rabada replacment. And batting is really top 3 heavy and how only sharukh at bottom as there other options are not that good.
Delhi definitely was the smartest team in terms of a few smart overseas picks, raising the money for other teams and even following the formula of their previous years.
They bought 4 batsman that are just openers and the amount they have payed definitely not look like they should be treated as replacement. I personally see there bowling doing quite good but they will be playing many players out of there places that could backfire.
They plan to play Padikkal in the middle order when he has a poor strike rate outside the powerplay against spin. They invested in an unfit international player who has a very poor record in the IPL. What was their tactic ???
@@kartikkantheti5690 padikkal is perfect at 3. He can play the anchor role if Jos and jaiswal get out early, and he has the ability to play spin well. Don’t know what you are talking about regarding that. Hetmyer was a surprising buy, but let’s see

Gautam Gambhir the BOSS. 😎 Brilliant day for Lucknow. They have stolen QdK. Wicketkeeper, so KL doesn't have to worry about keeping. L+R opening combination. Free flowing player and a good strike rate. So, KL won't have the pressure to up the ante. He can settle into his innings. They can pitch Stoinis at 3, where he is used to batting so much in BBL. Manish can be that stabilizer at 3,4 for 0/1, 5/2 or 10/3 situations. His best years were under GG captaincy, so he will know how to get the best out of him. Hooda can be utilized as a proper batsman, hard hitting batter at 5, where he has mostly played in his IPL/ Domestic career. And then Holder and Krunal in whatever order at 6/7 for the finishing duties. A top 7 with a keeper, 3 all-rounders and Hooda as a part time 6th option. The 4 main bowlers will be Holder, Wood, Avesh Khan and Bishnoi. Avesh and Bishnoi are among the most improved and talented upcoming Indian bowlers. If all goes well they could be match winners for the next 5 years. Stoinis and Krunal combined is a good 5th bowling option. You can rely on Hooda somedays if they cop it. KL Rahul has 0 EXCUSES now. He has a gr8 team. He should play fearlessly, and aggressively like the 2018 version of himself. If he fails to qualify for playoffs with this team, I think he should reserve thoughts abt captaining again.

What Joy said about Riyan is actually what i personally feel too,but sometimes we don't understand the auction dynamic and what the franchises actually looking for in a player 😀
Rajasthan proved me wrong. I thought Punjab and Srh would pick him for that price but never thought with a top 3 of Jaiswal Buttler and Samson, they would spend 8+ crores on Padikkal especially after seeing how he struggles to get a move on after powerplay. Hope their move works with Hetmyer as well because he'll be playing as finisher while I wanted Livingstone at that position. Boult, Krishna, Ashwin and Chahal look good but RR need Dube, Shankar, Gowtham for balance
Not shankar cause he is not a good finisher and they can still go for liam. I think padikkal move is a double edged sword they will give him no.3 spot to play spin and provide stability cause rramy times collapse after pp
The way Mumbai went about the auction today felt like they had their spies in the IPL governing council and Franchise strategies. Without paying a single rupee they ensured many teams especially RR depleted their resources and by time Kishan came, only SRH had enough purse to compete with them. Hats off to Sky for taking a pay cut. Like Faf and Rayudu, He's been underpaid in the IPL. Based on his experience, SKy would have made the marquee list. By not retaining Kishan, and on his experience, MI were smart to have Kishan come in so late and get him back. Very happy for Dewald Brevis. He will really develop his game in Mumbai and he'll bring back memories of players of past who played fearless cricket.
I think SRH is smart to raise the stakes of MI to 15.25 crores for Ishan kishan. Brilliant strategy hy SRH to increase the bid knowing MI will buy Ishaan at any cost
I don't know why everyone is getting too critical on Kolkata, they have 8 out of 9 players directly walking in playing 11; a bowling giving 25 overs, a batting deep till no. 8 as pat cummins (if they buy a good overseas opener tomorrow prolly wade). And they will have a good 6-7 cr for backups. Simon is saying where will be batting- can't he see Venky, Shreyas, Rana, w/k, 2nd overseas opener, Russell, Narine, Pat cummins. Its as deep as they can get. Other teams are almost quite similar in terms of their batting currently
I am a KKR fan and being honest I can tell u that most of KKR fans are idiots. They are hypocrites. One day they criticize the management for having Gill because of his low strike rate and another day they criticize them for not retaining him. And add to that you have Bangladeshi fans wanting Shakib only as if he owns KKR. They create a toxic environment. Now they are saying why they picked Rana for 8 cr. If they had not picked Rana then they would have had to pick Tripathi for 10cr.
@@saptarshidas8100 Bro as a KKR fan, can u help me understand the obsession of Cummins over Ferguson. Cummins has flattered to deceive on several occassions, whereas Lockie was a major reason for their comeback in 2020 and 2021 second half. Remember Cummins wasn't available for the 2nd half of 2021.
@@rhitambhargoswami8696 ok number one reason is u have to understand the auction dynamics. Pat Cummins was available at the start. So had u ignored him there and decided to go for him later, then you would have had to spend a lot on Ferguson. So u see there is a risk there. And how much did Ferguson go for? Its 10cr. It may have been even more than that had KKR not got Cummins. Then also KKR fans would have come barking and criticizing the management had they got Ferguson for that amount. By picking Cummins at the start you have actually ensured your top overseas fast bowler pick.
@@saptarshidas8100 Yeah, I get it. I think Ferguson is genuinely underrated. Going by performances, I think he should be in the marquee list ahead of Cummins. He went for 10 cr, with more teams vying. It would have been perfect for KKR, if he had been in the Marquee list, but well if only. 😅 Losing Prasidh also hurts. He was blossoming into his peak. And we persisted with him in the beginning days. I am happy we got back Mavi.
Despite having Rashid Khan, Gujarat decision to pay Tewatia 9 crores was unexplainable especially at that stage because Csk were the ones competing with him. At that price Krunal would have made more sense.
exactly..Tewatia’s buy would have been csk’s final nail in the coffin.Csk just got saved massively and if are to do good tomorrow then they would have to thank gujarat😂😅
Nah Apart from Warner, they don’t seem to find some established players. Compared to what the had ie dhawan, smith, shreyash, ashwin, rabada and what they picked doesn’t looks good
Last year's players from 8 teams went to 10 teams this year. Which means the teams are expected to be weak on paper. But it might be an opportunity for many new faces.
Most of teams who need batsman require 3 to 6 slots. Only kkr and csk needs openers So players like vohra, rishi dhawan, dube, ripal Patel, Lalit Yadav, anukul Roy, rinku singh, Vijay Shankar and u-19 guys can fill those Indian slots for middle order and lower order all rounders with varying level of experience. Depending on where kohli plays whether anuj Rawat makes to playing eleven or not they might go for rishi dhawan or dube or Shankar or ripal for no.5 considering maxwell bats at 4. These guys also fills the option of batsman who can bowl pace a bit. Same goes for Delhi as well. They might also go for Lalit since they already have pace bowling all rounder. Both these teams have 4 overseas that will be playing in main 11. Delhi might consider buying someone foreign if they are not considering fizz in main 11 they can go for players like Neesham, livingstone,Tim david who will bowl a bit and bat at 5 or 6. If they go this route they gonna face competition from Punjab who need smiliar players and have overseas slots open as well. Rajasthan also have one overseas slot for main 11 and they do need 6 or 7. They also need an all-rounder possibly for that slot. Punjab, Mumbai will be looking for middle order batsman and with foreign slots open in playing 11 they could go for players like conwoy, markarm, Rassie and the above mentioned ones who can bowl a bit Gujrat might look at those middle Indian options in vohra and others I might or might not have mentioned. They could also go for someone like gelnn Philips or Tim siefert or even wade since they do need keeper and do have one foreign slot open Also foreign fast bowlers Adam milne, Jansen, chameera, Reece topley, mills, southee, alzari Joseph are going to be steals with most franchises not trying to get in bidding wars with purses running low

RCB have disappointed and I'm glad AB has retired and doesn't have to carry this team anymore. RCB were contenders last season, but their reluctance to use AB at 3 and promote Shahbaz, Sundar, Patidar and Bharat ensured AB was rusty in IPL phase 2. Today AB has retired and where are these young players RCB were promoting? Shahbaz has been retained for 3 crores. Sundar has gone to SRH for 8 crores. Patidar unsold and Bharat with DC at 2 crores. Padikkal who was killing momentum with his slow strike rate but yet being backed for entire season too has gone to Rajasthan. If RCB were going to pick Faf as an opener, they could have atleast tried AB in that position. For atleast half a season given AB the luxury to enjoy his cricket but they always wanted him to do the dirty job. Keep wickets for team Balance at age of 36 and finish off innings after top order has chewed up so many deliveries. Now with RCB not even bidding for Dewald Brevis, and letting go of Chahal over Harshal, I can freely stop supporting RCB and enjoy the game from neutral perspective. Irrespective of winning or losing, I wish RCB go back to days of past when they played BOLD
Would've loved to see ab play and rcbs form in the recent past was synonymous with abd's form but after looking at how the auction has gone I'm kinda happy that he retired before this horror show
If look over this. Virat Faf Maxwell May be someone DK Hasranga Harshal Shahbaz Josh Siraj May be someone. They need one bowling option and a Batsman at 4. Atleast there 11 looks good and looking they both need to be Indian option only and can be Little bit uproven also. I think Anuj will play 4 so it looks good option. As they will have 7 bowling option and batting till 8. But risk Is trusting faf,dk for there age may not turn that well and trusting Maxwell, hasaranga and harshal may also turn bad. If they perform then team looks lethal. But backup would be really very weak
The only mistake rcb has made was overbidding hasaranga, the consequence was that they could not go for chahal after that but they still have a very good side faf vk maxi in top order DK the keeper and can bat at 5/6,bowling is very good siraj harshal Hazlewood hasaranga shehbaz, they need a top order Indian batsman and an Indian finisher
Don't u think Karthik at 5.5 is too much? Also if they had to go for Harshal and Hasranga, why did they release them on the first place? One more thing? Who would u pick b/w warner and Faf? I am RCB fan and I couldn't understand their strategy so I am looking for some answers.
@@jayeshpratapsingh4234 hasaranga's case is a curious one because rcb just let him play 2 matches last season and today went all out for him. DK I think is a good buy ik 5.5cr might sound expensive but still many unexpected things happen at the auction table. All these 6 Crores buys were good deals for the teams - Warner, QdK, Bairstow, Chahal and Shami. For a change, it was good to see PBKS doing well at the auction. Lucknow is almost ready with their first playing XI. Credit to GG there. DC, as usual, raising the prices for the other teams and then getting some smart picks for themselves. My 'O.M.G! What just happened there?!' moments are Rahul Tewatia going for 9 Crores, Krunal Pandya at 8.25 and Adam Zampa not getting even a single bid(unsold).
KkR has retained Russell. Narine and have bought pat cummins so three overseas spots have already been taken and they have only two batsmen in Iyer and Rana. Their bowling attack comprises of Chakraborty, mavi cummins , narine and Russell. They still need few first xi players but don't have overseas slots left, and all the decent Indian players have already been taken.Rana is an inconsistent and sheldon Jackson is unproven. Don't know what their logic is. They are again betting too much on Russell and Iyer.
DC overall had a fabulous day but would need to focus on 4 sectors according to me- 1. Middle Order Batting- Need a couple of Indian players (Raina, Lomror, Manoj Tiwari, Saurabh Tiwari). Also would require 1 Reserve opener (possibly Indian)- Mandeep Singh or Karun Nair- They can bat in the middle also. Raina should be bought. He can be positioned at No. 3 (his position for CSK) followed by Marsh at 4 & Pant at 5 would make this DC side even more dangerous. Raina has the experience & is a pretty safe fielder. Can easily give 2 overs. On his day we know what he is capable of. Lomror I feel can be groomed to be a long term prospect. He's just 22. & is somewhat like Raina an allrounder who can bat at No.5, give you a couple of overs. 2. 2 Finisher cum Seam All rounder (possibly 1 Indian & 1 Overseas) (No.6)- Indian can be Shivam Dube or Vijay Shankar. Overseas can be Ben Cutting or Neesham or Carlos Braithwaite (Not only finisher but possible replacement to Marsh considering he's slightly injury prone & International duties) 3. 2 Spinner (Preferably 1 Indian Spin AR & 1 Indian offie)- Spin AR could be Gowtham or Lalit Yadav. Proper spinner- Jayant Yadav or Piyush Chawla or Karn Sharma. 4. Fast bowlers (2-3 Indian & atleast 1 overseas)- 2-3 Indian I feel can be out of Umesh (buy back), Saini, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel, Sreesanth, Unadkat, Ishant & Aaron. 1 overseas could be Southee or Jansen or Ngidi or Alzari Joseph or Jordan. Since players like Warner & Marsh might not be available for the first 2-3 matches due to international duties, DC will have to ensure they have good backups for them.

I think that decision to pick Jadeja as 1st retention and Dhoni as 2nd retention has put a lot of pressure on Chennai to groom new players. They really had to splurge on Deepak Chahar and hardly got any players with experience in Rayudu, Bravo and Uthappa

Punjab should try to get Eoin Morgan tomorrow at a decent price, maybe around the 4CR mark? Even though he probably wont be able to offer them much with the bat, his style of leadership, both on and off the pitch is precisely what Punjab have missed thus far. He would insure that they got their team combination right at an earlier stage of the tournament than what they have been thus far.
For rr Jaiswal is gonna open no matter what. So who's gonna be the other opener. Logically should be buttler. But what's padikkal doing then? Padikkal's one problem with rcb was his scoring outside the power play. If you're playing him anywhere other than opening, most times he's gonna be playong outside the powerplay. Can't understand the thinking. Also sanju played number 3 previous season. So are they gonna play sanju at 3 and padikkal at 4, which is gonna be even bizzare, or are they gonna play padikkal at 3 and sanju at 4, which may not in sanju's best interests.
Now that they have bought padikkal they will have to open with him there is no other option. The advantage of jos is his versatility and for the team's benefit jos will have to play at 4. As for sanju he will play at 3, just taking more time at the crease paid up dividends for him. Heard Manoj badale earlier he was suggesting that Buttler to open , padikkal at 3 and sanju at 4. If this happens rr is going to compromise both padikkal and sanju rather than just using jos' versatility.. according to me Yashasvi Padikkal Sanju Jos Hetmyer :)
As a CSK fan, i was not disappointed at losing Faf, Thakur etc but angry that we had no Plan B. Obviously RCB and new teams will always poach CSK players. This has been the pattern. Had we gone for Warner for 8 Cr + Boult for 8-9 Cr, it would have been the best day for us. Poor backup plans waiting for Faf+Hazelwood and not having budget!

I think DC does look the most complete team currently. They certainly have the most variety. I think they are missing one out and out quick to partner Nortje and they could be found wanting if a lot of matches are played in Mumbai. KKR looks like they really need to do some smart buy. You can't have a side without adequate backups for injury prone people like Russell and Varun. I don't know what they were thinking with 8 crore for Rana. They have a lot of holes to fill with 12 crore because they need the backups. MI is basically got the core. Its difficult to judge because their side will be built tomorrow. RCB seem to have done fairly well. DK, Faf, Hasaranga, and Josh are pretty good buys. Probably overpaid for Harshal if the conditions are good for batting like they are in Bangalore and Mumbai. Lucknow did pretty well. Need some bargain buys to beef up their squad. CSK looks like CSK still. They have plenty of money to beef up their squad. Gujarat has really good bowling and pretty poor batting. SRH look meh. With no Rashid, that team feels like it has a lot of middling players, especially with Bhuvi having been so out of form in recent times. RR seem to have some good bats and a pretty good bowling attack. Missing quality allrounders so balance of team is a concern. Punjab is decent. I am not sure Shahrukh Khan is worth that much money. There are a lot of guys who have been with Punjab for a while Definitely Dhawan is a good buy given Rahul's departure. Gives them a solid opening pair. Bairstow, Rabada, and Chahar add some quality. Some of these sides have a lot of money to get some strong buys, like MI and Punjab, and others are basically depleted. To me, KKR are the one that look in the most trouble because they have at least 9 players to buy in 12.65 crore, including some first XI guys and some backups for guys like Russell and Cummins.

RR is super solid. They forgot in their 5, 6, 7 discussion about Hetmyer.

Brilliant day for Lucknow.

Iam not biased... But if I am kkrs opponent, this batting line doesn't scare me one bit...
You will see in it when the tournament starts

Tomorrow's going to be Mumbai and Punjab's day.
Harsha, Joy and Doull are perfect combination for Cricbuzz discussion.
Last year's players from 8 teams went to 10 teams this year. Which means the teams are expected to be weak on paper. But it might be an opportunity for many new faces.
Around 57:00 panelists forgot that RR also had Hetmyer at 5. So they just want 6 and 7. They have paid huge money to get him, how can they forgot him.
Punjab did extremely well.....
Most of teams who need batsman require 3 to 6 slots.
Only kkr and csk needs openers
So players like vohra, rishi dhawan, dube, ripal Patel, Lalit Yadav, anukul Roy, rinku singh, Vijay Shankar and u-19 guys can fill those Indian slots for middle order and lower order all rounders with varying level of experience.
Punjab, Mumbai will be looking for middle order batsman and with foreign slots open in playing 11 they could go for players like conwoy, markarm, Rassie and the above mentioned ones who can bowl a bit
Gujrat might look at those middle Indian options in vohra and others I might or might not have mentioned. They could also go for someone like gelnn Philips or Tim siefert or even wade since they do need keeper and do have one foreign slot open
Also foreign fast bowlers Adam milne, Jansen, chameera, Reece topley, mills, southee, alzari Joseph are going to be steals with most franchises not trying to get in bidding wars with purses running low
Players MI will go after tomorrow:
Navdeep Saini
Odean Smith/A Joseph

(at least 1 or 2)
L Livingstone/V Der Dussen/A Markram/ Labuschagne

DC overall had a fabulous day but would need to focus on 4 sectors according to me-
Overseas can be Ben Cutting or Neesham or Carlos Braithwaite (Not only finisher but possible replacement to Marsh considering he's slightly injury prone & International duties)
3. 2 Spinner (Preferably 1 Indian Spin AR & 1 Indian offie)- Spin AR could be Gowtham or Lalit Yadav.
DC will still not be able to win this year they have overbuyed a bit

Punjab should try to get Eoin Morgan tomorrow at a decent price, maybe around the 4CR mark? Even though he probably wont be able to offer them much with the bat, his style of leadership, both on and off the pitch is precisely what Punjab have missed thus far. He would insure that they got their team combination right at an earlier stage of the tournament than what they have been thus far.

For rr
Jaiswal is gonna open no matter what.
If this happens rr is going to compromise both padikkal and sanju rather than just using jos' versatility.. according to me

Tushar Deshpande was the net player for CSK in 2021
@@sahilprusty during 2020 I remember him talking about his interaction with Steyn( his hero)
I think Steve Smith can be a good buy for Gujrat or Punjab
@@sahilprusty unsold players will be back in the accelerated auction
@@ashwinhariharan310 Is it a separate thing or on Sunday only?
@@shuvenduswain2612 It will happen today after the other sets are done
@@ashwinhariharan310 Thanks for the clarification 🙌
Livingstone Mumbai or srh
As a CSK fan, i was not disappointed at losing Faf, Thakur etc but angry that we had no Plan B. Obviously RCB and new teams will always poach CSK players. This has been the pattern.
Had we gone for Warner for 8 Cr + Boult for 8-9 Cr, it would have been the best day for us.
Poor backup plans waiting for Faf+Hazelwood and not having budget!
They didn't cover Bangalore

Mi needs to go for Livingstone Nishant Sindhu bana..but major mistake of not going ahead with Hazelwood & chahal later both went for comparatively less amounts..need some experienced fast bowlers too
mumbaiindians Lewis/Livingstone/markam/ o.smith/neesham/r.powell/s.rutherford/jofra/alzari joseph/mills/counternile/ behendroff/jayant yadav
@@SachinKumar-jy7qt markram n Livingstone definitely along with u19 boys like sidhu bana..mills good buy aswell..depends how much money other teams are left with when these guys names come up..
Shud have gone for chahal 😐that one hurts
@@agrimkaushik7299 Agreed n even Hazelwood..BIGG miss indeed especially need 1 champion spinner at the least
@@anishmehra9012 yes now maybe jayant and maybe some unknown leggie now
You didn't do SRH
I don't understand why they didn't retain Devdutt...
MI really disappointed they could have tried on hard on yuzi
@@alokshah9962 Just wait and watch. Some of these in Livingstone, Odean Smith, Milne, Archer is coming to Mumbai
@@robinsmith3149 I expect that too. They have a lot of money to get these types of players. I am not convinced anyone will go for Archer this season. No point spending anything right now for someone who won't play for one whole season.
@@alokshah9962 I really can't judge MI because their only real focus today seemed to be to pick back Ishan Kishan. Tomorrow is when we will see how MI shapes up. They have plenty of money to whip up a good side.
@@nikunjdixit1175 they can get conwaybut i think srh will go for them
nobody mentioned man Punjab doesn't have a single all-round till now🤣🤣🤣
Again 😂😂 same problem will come then
Harpreet Brar,Sharukh Khan are all rounders.....They do have the second day of auction to go for all rounders like Bawa,etc...
Someone give a 5g connections to Cricbuzz guys!😒
54:49 Makes sense now?
Good review. Excellent comments from Harsha, Simon and Joy. I only hope Gaurav Kapoor stops his comic one-liners in-between which spoils the Flow of the show. Gaurav thinks he is funny but he is annoying 😡
Every RCB fan is disappointed 😞 and angry 😡 like me 😡😡😡💔
ngl punjab squad actually looks good!
Srh where is it?
RR has a chance to win this year. They bagged a perfect group of players .
They are a team that's looking good on paper but they'll not even qualify
Tim David is next big thing mark my words.
Best Prediction from Section D
Why these joker experts are downgrading sunrisers . ?? Bhuvi , Natrajan, gopal , sunder , umran ...the bowling core is Indian . It means they are going to buy Markram or RVD or Livingstone etc ...there are many still left and they have a good purse . And Dont forget who their captain is .
Bowling alone won’t win games for them
No good establish indian players in the middle will hamper them again
Bruh who r u though..... 🤡
Bhuvi is finished lol. Natrajan, Sundar are still getting back to full match fitness. Gopal is average and Umran is raw.
You're the joker who doesn't know anything about team composition
Worst auction for RCB.
they now should to steel buy in the form of Morgan/Hales/neesham as batter no bowling nisham
U guys have an another under estimate season to SRH
VVS brilliance will recognise once the tournament start..
Pooran is not a bad selection
SRH 💥💥
VVS is no more with SRH. He is the director of NCA.
Even though SRH is good side this time..
If they purchased a good opener tomorrow, they are best 4 in 2022..
Last few sessions they are struggling to chase just 120
This time 8 good batting lineup..
6,7 players can bowl also...
Only the missing thing they don't have a seem up alrounder
RCB always fools buying Harshal Patel and Hasaranga for huge money instead of retaining them for lesser money
SRH!!!!
MI has shortlisted a leg spinner from Nagaland. They have shortlisted him
