HARSHA BHOGLE On The Asian Century

- We're joined by ornament to the game, Harsha Bhogle, for a one hour, feature-length interview. We wanted it reverent, he wanted irreverence, so we found a middle ground. We traversed the Asian Century, new and old India, run-outs, the future of cricket, Axar Patel's relationship with the stumps, great lines in commentary, birds, blokes bowling in black belts, Kohli clickbait stuff, whether or not we're allowed to come to his house (and why), and several other matters of debatable importance.
With enormous thanks to the mighty St Joseph's Cricket Club, Geelong, for hosting us.

We are not 1.3 Billion, we are 150 million.. because a lot of people fight for survival. Nailed it Harsha.

What a line...by Harsha sir... legendary
Not too often do we get to see, Grade Cricketers being totally dominated by a particularl Guest, throughout the interview....
Mr Bhogle was silky smooth all along. That's not as surprising as to see the other two being not too irreverent what they normally are.

"India is a miracle of Geography - Harsha Bhogle". This quote will live on for generations to come.
You caught the statement of the mellinium. Yes and truly so. Cheers.
Gay quote😞
It would have been unfair to hear Harsha through a Zoom call audio.
Glad you guys managed to invite him and got him a professional microphone. Beautiful.
Good call. They've all got 58s!
Yeah. we all know how Harshas's microphone turns out everytime 😑
This is not only a cricket podcast. It has become a philosophical podcast today.
It always was... But mostly about penises 🤣
It always is you COAT! There is no today thing.
There's a limit to what Harsha should've said, I can never forget his Verbal Diaherea in the final word podcast when VK left captaincy, the way he diminished Kohli's achievements and labelled him as just a wild alpha who was going beyond cricket and needed to be brought under control. He should be punched for saying such a thing about our National sports treasure. Harsha has lost all the respect he accumulated over the years with this comment.
@@thisisgsc Maybe not punched in the face coz violence is a terrible thing. But yeah, I remember that and thinking whoa! Kohli doesn't deserve this from Harsha.
@@thisisgsc hero worship should not become so great that we cannot be objective. Nothing is bigger than the game. Not even Virat Kohli. Fortunately Kohli realizes that and that is why he works so hard. Kohli had gone rogue. It happens, but he has recalibrated (hopefully) and will still continue to wow us for some more time (fingers crossed)
BOYS, I don’t want to denigrate your normal content because it is so bloody funny, but this is such a high quality and professional interview. Loved it. Great job!
I like how they kept themselves a little distant to Harsha :) it made it so much more funnier when this façade was brought down.

I'm sharing this to maximum possible people, kindly read & share this to every possible mind ☺️
All the sweet souls here, please stop the tag titles of God king etc. This is the reason why we aren't able to make inclusive environment with all fans now. I know SACHIN is greatest of all-conditions batting including in ODI knockouts (3rd after VIV & KIRSTEN as per quora answer to "How often did Sachin Tendulkar deliver when it was really required?") and his incredible consistency in 1996 2003 2011 till SEMIS in ODIs & even in toughest conditions SENA WINDIES PAK Tests vs all these lethal bowling & batting firepowers since 1990 itself is the clear evidence of the same, but don't overglorify it to invite the hate of egoist playerfans or anyone. Please read this. ☺️
All the people including 1950s to 2000s or even 2000s till date cricket fans, don't ever compare two different era players at all, because that comparison comes alongwith multitude of crucial factors like own team strength and opposition strength team count, fielding & old ball rules, pitch & umpiring realities, and different format knockouts introduced since 2007 of T20s and later WTCFINALS. So simply admire the skills of players always, and be graceful to accept their failures as well, be it KOHLI, SACHIN or even SIR VIV. ✌️☺️
Dear friends, even cricketer in earlier years himself & cricket expert HARSHA BHOGLE appreciates the originality of each & every player including SACHIN KOHLI everyone, and doesn't make such typical comparative judgements. So let's love the unique skills of every player, rather than any comparison. Let's be sports lovers, not player fanatics, right ✌️☺️
All toxicity ignored always, and polite replies welcome. ☺️
Share this to all ✌️☺️
Had goosebumps when Harsha said ‘the English didn’t just take our wealth, they also took our self confidence’
There's too much blame going on. All countries have been fighting for thousands of years. England was decimated 3 times by powerful empires, they did it, now China and America are doing it. Isn't the British Prime Minister Indian- English? His wife is Indian.
True
yes

You're supposed to like him he's in long distance relationship with Pakistan & Khan gang and that's what Harsha shouldn't be doing, he must be neutral.

Harsha is a gift to the cricket community ! Thanks for this podcast boys
He is brilliant
Never seen the BOIS so well behaved, polite and mannered. Perhaps it's the serene presence of a cool, calm, collected individual like Harsha Bhogle that's influenced them so endearingly. This wasn't a normal TGC podcast but an experience in articulated Q&A. Higgos was trying to be his normal self but perhaps the out of shot kicks to the shins from Pezz kept him in check. Great show BOIS.Looking forward to some more like these.
A whole hour and 6 odd minutes went by so quickly. What a wonderful interview. Harsha is a treasure to the world cricket community... Thanks guys
Harsha is my favourite person to listen to in cricket. It'd be easy to say, as an Aussie, he's my 'indian Richie Benaud'. But there's a discrimination to that. Richie was a voice for all people, and Harsha is a voice for all cricket. TGC is a great foil for him; bit of Aussie reverence with a real voice of the game.
As an Aussie, I prefer him to Richie, which is high praise indeed.
I'm only 20 mins in and I don't want this to end. Ik this whole thing will be beautiful since Harsha Bhogle is on.
I had no idea before that i could spend one hour watching an interview .
I have not seen a single game since my father's death in 2018 , this video made me emotional, made me remember the days i used to watch cricket matches with my father . Thank U guyz 🙏 this was absolutely amazing #luvHarshaBhogle
THIS NEEDS TO GO VIRAL. Cheers TGC, good going!
Absolutely
The GOATS of the voices of cricket in the same room🐐🐐
28:17 to 28:52 is one of the nicest phrases I've heard. Truly Harsha is a blessing!
‘The English didn’t just take our wealth, they also took our self confidence.’ Harsha is not a great observer of the game but life and culture in general. Gem of a person and narrator!
The interview we were waiting for! 🐐❤️
It's been a long wait !!! 😋
over one hour and just never feel like one. always beautiful listening to Harsha. If he a professor, I would never miss his class.
Harsha is a living institution himself. so much u learn listening him and hat's off to the grade cricketer..
And to think that this gem of a person was taken away from what he does best by BCCI because it did not fit into their agenda ….. Indian cricket fans will always love listening to him and Ravi Shastri
I am an ardent listener and it was such a pleasure listening to this interview.. simply brilliant
Fantastic interview bois. Did not realise how intelligent Harsha was. Questions and philosophical discourse was genuinely riveting

This podcast is not about cricket. It is a miraculous convergence of cultures that makes us human, after all. Biomimicry at its best.
I've been listening to Harsha from the time I was a little kid. When he said I don't know how much time I've left in this almost brought tears in my eyes. Its very hard to sum the emotions it will be like the time Tendulkar retired from cricket!!
