He was my childhood baseball hero! During a game in San Francisco. My grandfather gave my Montreal Expo to a security cop and Gary Carter singed it for me. Will never forget it! R.I.P. Gary Carter.

He died young, but the way he lived was not sad. He was an amazing person who did everything with joy that ALL of us could learn a lesson from and try to emulate. Not a Mets fan, but he is one of my all-time favorites from watching baseball for over 50 years.

Carter was one of my childhood heros. I loved watching him play with the Expos. I was sad to see him traded to the Mets. Good Video.

What a great player he was. I felt so sad when he passed, and so young. Rest in Peace Gary Carter.

I am a Mets fan because of Gary Carter. When he left the Expos I left with him. All time favourite player. So sad when he passed. May he still rest in peace. 😇 ⛅️

Although I am a lifelong Phillies fan from Philly , it was around 1980 that Mr. Carter was playing in his prime. I became a fan instantly after seeing his aggressive performance on the field.
    RIP 🙏🏽

I had no idea he had cancer and had died..... The guy was a STUD! Played in an era of so many great catchers. Bench, Munson, Fisk, Simmons, Tennace, Yeager, Porter and probably some I missed.

I talked to Gary several times in Reno in 2008, when he managed the Orange County Flyers of the Golden Baseball League and the Flyers would come up to play Reno. Gary was kind enough to sign a Baseball for me which I still have somewhere.

His Flyers played at Cal State Fullerton in his home town. It was truly awesome to see him home and happy before the darkness took him from us.

There have been quite a few former Phillies players die of brain cancer (Veteran’s Stadium) . Newspapers have started to try and relate these deaths to early types of astroturfs. Immediately thought of ex-Expos Gary Carter when reading the article.

WOW , I never thought about that until you said this. Didn’t Phillies catcher Darren “Dutch” Daulton die of the same type of cancer ?

Don't appreciate you putting these false titles that make the players look bad and like they weren't good people. That's what's sad about you

Supposed Christian man Gary Carter cried like a baby when he found out he had terminal cancer (he died at age 57) and that God was going to take him home to Heaven.
