We received this in the mail today! The packaging was fine, no damage during shipping thank goodness! The construction was very simple ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXH3jIpsn6vpr3D26KWAriUejh7CSxVp7 , the bottom rocking part and the ottoman were already put together for us which is nice!As for the actual quality, the wood seems fine.. Not too cheap but maybe not the quality you would find in a store for 400$. However, it is still sturdy and feels secure. I've only had it for one night, so of course no squeaking yet.. But if it does squeak it could be easily oiled. The cushions are comfy, and made of a suede like material. Obviously with time these cushions will probably wear and tear.. But for the price of the chair it is still worth it just to go out and buy new cushions that fit in the future.Overall I am very satisfied, I was a little worried after reading some reviews and looking through the photos, but I'm happy I bought it! Obviously it's not a heavy-duty chair, but with care I'm hoping it will last a while.
I aspire to have your grit to take on difficult/challenging projects. Many would say no, or say "it's not my cup of tea." Not you Trena. You and Laura rose to the occasion...nicely done!
This was amazing. I once had to re-cane the seat of a rocker and thought that was a tough job. It's such a pleasure watching professionals who can also bring creative solutions to the job.
Amazing work You are fearless,!! I learned a lot on this one. When in doubt, keep laughing and enjoy the process. Thanks for sharing. Your talent never ceases to amaze!! Kudos to Laura as well!
Trena, you never cease to amaze me with your skill in bringing old and broken pieces back to life. The effort you went into to get that reed weave looking tight was above and beyond what I've seen other do. While I was laughing with you while you were bonking your heads, it reminded my of the Three Stooges. I hope your heads are okay. If I ever move back up north, I'll make the drive to your shop to get my furniture fixed.
You always make everything look amazing. Even if it’s an old brown wicker rocker. I bet his elderly mom will have a big smile on her face at Christmas.
You are right there is nothing on the Internet besides this video! And I’m happy that this one exists! I have a 20 year old resin wicker rocker that needs the wicker replaced. The bones are good as it is aluminum frame and I don’t Want to throw it away like everyone keeps telling me to do! I’m retired now so I think especially from watching this video, if I can find the resin fabric, I should be able to repair it myself! Thank you so much for posting this video and for the name of the supplier!
Love the video. Reminds me of some of the jobs I've gotten myself into. Love the laughter when sometimes you want to cry and ask why.......You girls did an awesome job. I KNOW how bad your hands hurt. Even with sharp scissors somethings just don't want to give. Thanks for your inspiration. I can see me doing one next time. 🙂
This video was many things. I laughed outloud at Trena and Laura, that was the best!! Talk about enjoying your work!! And the fact it was for someone’s ninety year old Mom was wonderful! One of my favorite videos ever!!!
Thank you ! Trena - You are so right that you are the first one to do this type of Wicker repair on RUclips. I have a bookcase, that needs this of repair as well.
I really enjoyed this video! Making these kind of chairs seems to be a lost art, any newer ones that are around are not made like this. You both did a fantastic job stretching the wicker, it is not an easy job to keep the weave straight whilst stretching and tacking each direction. Brilliant job!🤗🇦🇺
Trena! My goodness, I have never seen such an undertaking and to see you tackle it was an incredible experience just to watch! YOU! Are amazing! GREAT WORK!!!👍🏼
Frank's is absolutely the best place for any kind of furniture weave!! They know EVERYTHING. And they will always spend time talking you through your project. Plus, when you call, an actual human answers the phone and it's frequently Frank.
Your have a true friend in Lori! She is good person and hard worker like you are. Your videos are in a class all their own Every time I watch your videos, they bring a smile to my face. Everything about your channel is a breath of fresh air!
with all that pulling and stretching, I'm impressed at how straight the weave is in the finished product. I would have thought that was good for the trash but you rescued it.
I like the way you reuse household products like your water bottle and glue applicator, little things that helps keep your overhead down, keep thing out of the landfill and in a small way keep the cost to your customers by some. It shows you care about people now and the future where some of it ends up in the ocean. You are a smart young lady (maybe in your 30s, you must have had your daughter when you were very young) Thanks for showing your followers how to help the environment! Thanks as always! A long time watcher snd commenter?
Never would I have imagined that wicker came as a bolt of cloth. At the beginning of the video I was thinking why bother. You truly have no fear or limits. So very, very impressed.
That chair was made by the Lloyd Loom Furniture Company which was in business from the 1920’s. I have a loverly armchair in the original old rose colour with a lift out sprung seat in a rose floral fabric. Similar Lloyd Loom chairs are still being made and are very popular.
Trena, You went above and beyond Thanks for the lesson but I KNOW I would Never attempt this restoration. Wonderful job. If I ever find a wicker rocker that needs a restore I promise I won't get in touch. I did hear your comment. Great job, God Bless You.
You and Laura have done a superb job, your hard work and perseverance is remarkable, super well done. Sharing all the steps and mistakes along the way added to the authenticity of you work and highlights your tremendous character. I truly enjoy all your videos, thank you for sharing.
You are so knowledgeable and talented. I love watching your videos. It does my heart good to see a woman in this field ;). Also, your music is great. Keep up the great work!
So that’s how it’s done! Holy smokes, hard work for hands that’s for sure. What a beautiful job though, the natural color sure looked fabulous with the dark painted wood structure, but, you know, you live into your 90’s and want paint, you’re gonna get paint! I could tell that you added your touches to the depths of the browns, it’s the best brown there is!
Great job. I have a cane wheelchair that needs to be done. I thought it would be a great project, until I looked for help. It is still in the corner of my project room. Cheers from Newfoundland.
Another miraculous resurrection from the dead! LOL Really your work is always amazing! Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us!
Someone got their giggle box turned over while working on this one! The finished product really turned out great. A pair of carpet shears may be easier than fabric scissors for cutting the material to fit. Thanks for letting us watch a RUclips first.
Hi Trena and Laura, great restoration, I bet you don't do another one of those any time soon, fun vid I had some laughs as I think you did also, seeing that glove tip stapled was hilarious, I wish you'd shown more of the bloopers, cheers to you both from Oz !!😂😀🥰💗❤
I thoroughly enjoyed watching you guys working and laughing as you work. The stapled glove was very funny! Tough job though. A real learned experience!
Hi Trena! Chair looks great. You probably don't get too many wicker replacement jobs but as I watched you struggle cutting that weave with scissors, sheet metal shears came to mind. Lots of leverage and solid.
Trena, you two were having such a laugh, I laughed right along with you two! I'm glad that you included that in this video. You two are very good "crazy"......... just teasin' !!🤣 It really looks GREAT! Your patience is amazing!!
I really liked this and it was fun to see you working with your friend. Having fun doing what you love is even better! It looked hard to get the fiber to bend and stretch how you needed it to be and I could really empathize with the pain you described in your hands. I agree that the brown was not a preferred color, but ... the woman is 98 and at 98 you should really get what you want. God only knows, she may have said she didn't want anything done to it as it had lasted so long this way. My own Mother, now deceased, was like that about some things of hers. Again, congrats for taking on this project. You did a great job!
The paint is original…as I found out when researching the Lloyd Loom company after I bought a great little early 1900’s desk and had to source the woven paper in order to re-weave part of the corners and the sweet little rolled back. (Mine was a deep oxblood color, with gold braid-original color). It actually added strength to the woven paper, and made it weatherproof. Lightweight and flexible/comfortable, one of their early best products was baby buggies (early 1900’s). They are now Lloyd-Flanders, still make woven paper furniture that is quite expensive. I believe the company is in Menominee, Michigan. I give you credit for taking that one on!
Frustration and a bit of fun on this one. Looks like hard-hats may have been needed. 😉 I have a feeling that this may remain the only video on the Internet EVER. It always amazes me that you'll tackle almost anything (once anyway) and always win.
So glad you’ve got help. You guys are making a very difficult job FUN. I wouldn’t attempt a job like that in a million years. Way to go girls. You both “rock”. Get it - rock 😂😂😂😂😂
Enjoyed the video Trena. That was a tough project, but with your great help you ladies looked like you were having a good time fighting with that material.. I can imagine how sore your hands and fingers were. The rocker looked like new. You did a great job as usual. Thanks for the video. You take care and I hope you all have a very merry Christmas.
Really, really enjoyed this video. Your hands must be raw rubbing and stretching. So unique! Your are my absolute favourite blogger! I learn so many new things all the time. Thanks!

Very nicely done ! This is the first time I have seen someone rejuvenate a wicker chair . Good job.
This was amazing. I once had to re-cane the seat of a rocker and thought that was a tough job. It's such a pleasure watching professionals who can also bring creative solutions to the job.
Great job. Enjoyed watching you putting on the new weave with all the struggles and bumps into the clamps. The end results were amazing.
Amazing work You are fearless,!! I learned a lot on this one. When in doubt, keep laughing and enjoy the process. Thanks for sharing. Your talent never ceases to amaze!! Kudos to Laura as well!

@@johnsfurniturerepair That's twice I've gotten you to laugh at one of my comments. It's a sign I should go into Stand up Comedy
You always make everything look amazing. Even if it’s an old brown wicker rocker. I bet his elderly mom will have a big smile on her face at Christmas.
I hope so 🥰
The more difficult the job the more laughter...you both did a GREAT JOB. Love this video.
Yep. Lol. It’s better than crying
You’re so right!! Finding something like this has been nearly Impossible!! Thank you!
You're so welcome!

Wow I can only imagine how hard that material is to work with. You did a wonderful job.
stapling your glove was classic! Lots of hard work in this one.

What a challenging time 😊. You and Laura have real fortitude to tackle this and keep your humor and not let the fabric win! You rock!
Good gracious Trina, when it comes to restoring furniture is there anything you can’t do? Marvelous work. Oh, and you ladies need to cheer up. 😊
Lol
I believe that was an exercise in perseverance & strength of your character. Wonderful work Trina. Thank you.

Looks like a chair that just came out of a store. Fantastic job ladies.
What an amazing transformation!

A pair of carpet shears may be easier than fabric scissors for cutting the material to fit.
Thanks for letting us watch a RUclips first.
Greetings from Saskatchewan. Excellent job. My hands cramped up just watching the video. Cheers.
Happy New Year! Trena. Hope you and your family are doing well in the New Year.

Beautiful work 👏
Wow, that looked like a really challenging job. My hands would have never held out without cramping. Good job! 😍
Great job Trina, well done 👏👏👍
I would not have attempted this, final product looks good.
Well, that was a twisted tale but you weaved a beautiful outcome!
What a job that must have been, can you imagine that you work at the factory that makes that chair and that is your job to do every day, nice work.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching you guys working and laughing as you work. The stapled glove was very funny! Tough job though. A real learned experience!
thanks, you have now saved me from ever wanting to do wickerwork lol.
I just inherited a 3 piece set two sides that need to be replaced bc of a hole 🕳
Thanks Trina. Very interesting.
That was the funniest furniture resto video I’ve ever seen. You and your helper kept me laughing.
Good job on the chair!
Hi Trena! Chair looks great.

Yep and I even have some. Lol
Amazeballs! Tough job that turned out great!
That looked very difficult. Glad you had a friend to help on that one thanks Trena
Merry Christmas!

Holy smokes, that was a job! Looks nice at the end of the day. I wonder if you’ll ever do that again. Great job Trena ❤
That was an amazing repair. It had to of been a workout. Probably there was some kind of tool that helped the original maker. Good job!
Frustration and a bit of fun on this one. Looks like hard-hats may have been needed. 😉
I have a feeling that this may remain the only video on the Internet EVER.
It always amazes me that you'll tackle almost anything (once anyway) and always win.

Wow! I didn’t know that could be done. Great work as usual.
Truly amazing , Anyone else would have trashed it. Great job.
Once again a super job. Incredible. Greetings from Germany👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Trena, I hope the owner really appreciate it and looks after the chair it should last a very long time. You all take care 😀👍👍
That's amazing work.
Well done girls! I hope you were well paid for your efforts and professional results.
Yes! Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful. You're a master.
Thank you! 😊

What an amazing job! Well done, congratulations.
Thankyou
You've got to earn top points for persistence and all I can say to that is I'm glad I'm on the other side of the world.
You are so patient with the tedious work!
