I am pretty sure I would have used mulberry paper instead of brown paper and you didn’t say whether the glue you used was acid free, I hope so. I was surprised you didn’t sand out the creases on the brown paper before putting the canvas over it. Did you think shellac was the best choice to seal that paper? I have no thoughts about the woodwork as I know very little about it but I do know some basic things about paper preservation.

What a beauty! It would be interesting to know how old the chair is. We visited the farm in So Dak back when young and I remember the chairs having wire wrapped around the bottom of some of them. People didn't find things as disposable as many do today. Everything was kept, restore, renewed or "fixed" as best they could. I don't remember many new things but repaired and made to look new or just repaired as best a nail could do it. The memories touch my heart and there was a happiness in the old things as they showed the past and use those items got. Love those memories. I so wish there was a greater love of the items from the past as I felt they were when growing up. I love your trade for that very reason and the perfection ane pride you take in your work. Thank you for retaining the past and keeping memories "new" for so many of your customers. Thank you for sharing all these things with us. Beautifully done once again!
