First off welcome back we missed you. As for the imperfections, it looks great and I am sure the person who owns the trunk will be happy that you left those imperfections instead of replacing them with all new. Great job as usual.

I have my grandfather's trunk he took back and forth to college, on a wagon, back in the 1920's. All his college books are still inside. You've inspired me to rejuvenate it.

At first look, I really thought this trunk was beyond saving. But, as always, you worked your magic, and I would be proud to show this in my home. I especially love how you keep the character of the trunk. If only it could talk, the stories it could tell! ❤

That looks like the chest my Mom came to Cleveland from Yorkshire, England in 1946. I remember it well, playing with it as a child. Don't know where it went but it disappeared about 1963. It was a fascinating piece of luggage. You've made their trunk beautiful again...bravo!

You had me worried, lamenting your disappearance from RUclips. I had a rather complete wood working shop, but age and shaking hands eventually mede it dangerous for me to continue to use it. At least I got to watch you take on some challenging projects and do an excellent job on them. I was especially impressed with the job you did on that exterior door. I am hoping you will continue from your new location. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!!

I love it when people bring you furniture that is in such rough shape. Especially when they are willing to let you go forward with just some basic input. It gives you so many options to show off your amazing talent.
Also, I really enjoyed watching you fight with the glue gun. There are times when they are the perfect option, but they always fight me every inch of the way. So it is nice to watch someone whose skill is lightyears beyond mine fight with them. 😀

Yes, Trena, it's been a long while since I've seen you. I don’t know if I've seen anything you've restored start out looking as incredibly dirty as this piece! What a great job you've done to give it new life and purpose! I think you made all the right decisions in not over-restoring this piece, and keeping remnants of its history and battlescars to reflect it's age and previous service! As usual you do not disappoint the depth of your skill, craft & respect for an object's previous crafter and craftmanship by not radically altering its original design asthetic. I love this piece and I would be proud to display it & incorporate back into useful service into my present 112 year old residence that not only my parents lived in until their demise , but also my grandparents and great-grandparents also resided in up until their passing from this life. I so love your channel and have the highest regard for your work and craftsmanship! I wish you the best returning to your hometown! 🥰

Yay Trena! So wonderful to see your beautiful smile again. You have been missed. Absolutely stunning job as usual girl! I love that you kept the beautiful character of this piece. I have a suggestion for the hot glue have you ever tried Beacon 3 in 1 glue? Also goes by the names Fabritac or Fabrifix. It’s a silicone based glue so it won’t warp paper but is strong and sticks paper and fabric to paper, fabric, wood or metal. Hope your move was good and your family is doing well. It was so lovely to see you with Scott on Fixing Furniture! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Be well 😊

I remember back in the late 60s my grandfather had a trunk remarkably like that one. I was just a kid then and didn't think much about it but would give anything to have it now. It came from England with his parents when they moved to the united States' when he was young that dated it back to at least 1877 when they arrived. There's no telling how old it was when they moved here. You did it justice and looks great. Thank you for sharing.👍

I restored an old trunk like that. It was once my grandmother's. Once I had stripped the old fabric stuff off the surface. it turned ut to be very ice wood. I stained it with "golden oak," varnished it, and over the years used it as a coffee table, stood a bookshelf on it and called it hutch, and used it to store antique quilts and comforters. Everybody should have one!
