Great idea! I imagine you have a cutting jig as well. This makes the process doable for the less patient such as myself.

Have you thought about making and selling that jig? I would want one

The problem is, most applications of the trestle are different. Different height and width, for any given layout.

what size dowel is that? Size of cross braces? I am assuming I could get these wood products somewhere like hobby lobby?

I am just starting my layout in O gauge scale. Could you share your measurements for this jig so I can make one? I do not have your experience, but I am going to learn best I can. This is the first video I have found that shows the build in O gauge. Thank you so much in advance for your help if possible.

I used 1/4" dowels and the cross braces were 1/16" thick and 1/4" wide. The lengths of all these pieced though, is entirely dependent on the terrain of your layout. If it is just elevated track over flat ground, it can be whatever height you want. Just be sure it will be high enough for another train to go under it if it is going over tracks below. If the bridgework will span a mountain valley, each support will vary in height. I had to get the cross brace wood from a hobby shop. They would also have the dowels but they will probably be cheaper at Lowe's. Good luck!
