Really thorough tutorial on the take down and disassembly of the G2 and or G3! Thanks This really helped me with the first takedown of my G3, I will be purchasing some spring kits from you guys! Thanks Again for the great video.
I purchased and installed the Keep Tinkering Flat Face SAO trigger. This eliminated the trigger safety bar, Reduced/shortened the overall travel by 45% and is at 5lb pull. Absolute Best Mod for the G3C, of all I have done. The M*Carbo spring kit ended in light strikes for mine, being at factory poundage of 14lb. I ordered a new striker assy from Taurus $14.99 and fires 100%.
Video made the installation of the spring kit really easy! Thanks so much!!! And really glad I got the shank tool as well for the sear spring. G3c already has a great trigger but the polish job makes it better.
Great trigger job tutorial, very good footage and description! It gave me the confidence needed to do it myself on my G3. Only one thing I'm wondering: why didn't you replace the striker guide for the Stainless Steel one available?? It's supposed to be superior to the OEM orange plastic one. Thank you very much for such great content!
Just installed the spring kit. It dropped my pull from 7#-7.5# (DA and SA) to 5# DA and 4.25# SA. Nice! I greased the striker guide instead of spending money on a ss one from lakeline, although tempting. Love the new mod. To add: Punching the middle pin from right to left was the cure to my problem. The knurling on my pin (G2) prevented it from being pushed from right to left.
This is definitely the most detailed video that I have found on Taurus take down. I have 2. One of the 3gc' & the 3gc Toro. I live these forearms. I am yet to have any kind of issue with them. They even come with 3 12 round mags. Hard to beat for the price. I am ordering these spring kits for them as well
I found a trigger shoe that gets rid of the restrike feature making the trigger travel sooo much better. I wonder what that would do pared with your springs 🤣. I love your spring kits. Got one for my 92 and p320. Keep up the great work man!!!!
Okay I ate my wheaties and finally got the cover off to get the firing pin out. And got everything installed and can definitely feel the difference. Thank you very much next is night sights.
This was a great video. It was the cold bucket of water I need to fully understand I need someone else to perform these actions. And while I watched, I daydreamed about "What if Taurus did all this for the finished product? How much better would their products be?" To be clear, I have a G3C and tremendously dislike the trigger - especially when compared to other pistols I own. It tends to get left behind on range days. 😞
Just seeing this. Great upgrade video Vlad. I have the G3c, but looking to get the G3c TORO soon. I'll also swap out that plastic recoil guide rod spring assembly and the striker guide for the stainless steel versions from Lakeline LLC.
Fantastic video. Totally wanted to see the complete breakdown of the G3 because that's what I have. I was trying to take in all the info that now my head is ready to explode 🤯. I would like to see if there are any different replacement triggers for the G3? Any type of functional mod would be cool to see. I need to see more👍
Real good and nice camera work. I replaced my trigger and springs- those pins were REALLY in there and bent my punch good. And the trigger spring was a challenge. Still watching your video to see what you do.
If you put the frame inside of a plastic bag while disassembling anything with a stout spring or detent it gives you a chance to catch the spring or bearing in case it slips.
Can you please make a trigger for the g3 series? I've seen a couple from companies I've never heard of and I'd rather go with people I've heard of and already make amazing kits.
Doing just the polishing will just improve the wall break, but replacing the springs reduces trigger pull force by 2 pounds? On an older (1000-2000) g3c makes it sense polishing these parts?
Thank you!!! Only good G3/G2 take down video I've seen. Glock is similar enough but it's good to see the real deal. Also, you and lakeline are the only taurus upgrade places I've found. Taurus is a very popular brand. More folks should take advantage of this market.
Yes please make a flat faced trigger for this gun. I love the g2c but the trigger isn't my favorite. The trigger and sights are my only real gripes with this gun.
I installed the Keep Tinkering Flat-Faced SAO trigger. It shortened/reduced travel by 45%. 5lb pull- ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Single Action type feel, no trigger bar safety or double strike.
If someone told me polishing a few parts would take 2lbs off the trigger pull, I don't think I'd believe them. That black finish really adds resistance.
It also prevents rust. All those places he polished will now ruar much easier. I recommend cold blueing after the polish. So you don't spent hours de-rusting later.
I have the G3c and it’s new I haven’t even shot it yet. I want to get this in before I shoot it. I can’t get the plate off when I push down on the firing pin and try to push that plate up it will not budge. Any suggestions
Is this good for ammo with hard primers? My only concern is light primer strikes. I have a spring kit from another company and got a couple of light strikes.
I suffered 100% light strikes after initial firing of brand new G3C. Lakeline llc or M*Carbo springs did nothing. They are all 14lb OEM weight. I installed a 15 1/2lb Wolf Spring to resolve the light strike, but did increase trigger pull. I purchased a $14.99 new striker assy. from Taurus and resolved all issues. This is Not from Hard Primers, a characteristic for some of the pistols.
My M-Carbo kit had the identical OEM striker spring weight of 14lb. I had light strikes before and after use. Purchased a new striker kit for $14.99 from Taurus and resolved all issues. Otherwise a 15 1/2lb Wolf Spring for Glock was my first cure, but increased the trigger pull.
Keep Tinkering offers a flat-faced SAO trigger kit for $35. Mine ended up at 5lb pull, 45% reduction in travel, no more trigger safety or double strike.
The worst part of this trigger is the way the trigger dingus doesnt completely engage until the rear of the pull creating an awful grittyness right before break. I cant see how this kit will help that what so ever. Then the mirror polish is going to rust on all 4 of those places polished. Its a taurus. Of course its going to rust. At least cold blue the areas you polished.
I have used 4 other M*Carbo trigger spring kits on multiple other brands, all with great end results. I installed the kit, along with all the internal polish works in my G3c to end up with 100% light strikes on CCI and Remington factory ammo, plus reloads with WInchester and CCI primers, installed .002" below flush in the case. as was the factory spring. I contacted M*Carbo by email twice with the question of their spring pull weight matching the factory 14lb pull or not? No replies. I ended up installing a Wolf Spring 15 1/2lb spring to resolve the light strikes, but did suffer additional trigger pull. I can't blame M*Carbo for the spring poundage duplication the OEM unit, simply disappointed by lack of communications. This kit did defiantly improve the trigger feeling, and eliminate the songy feel, although a majority sacrificed due to the heavier striker spring I had to install for light strike issues, as in many of these pistols. I purchased and installed a Lakeview steel striker assy, with the same 14lb light strike ending. This kit is an easy install, taking about 30 minutes with polishing procedures, and not difficult at all. My opinion would be, either the internal depth of the striker housing front area or striker overall tip length varies from pistol to pistol, resulting in a large amount of pistols out there with light strike issues. I will continue my investigations and modification efforts to allow installation of the factory 14lb spring and light trigger pull, as was the plan.
Swapping out that plastic striker guide for the stainless steel one from Lakeline LLC also helps a lot on the trigger pull.
Clear, thorough, and authoritative. You sold me.
Great job on your video. Regardless of the topic I was impressed with your ability to demonstrate and communicate clearly. Thanks for the info.

Look into lakeline kits ..come with everything here plus the metal replacement for all plastic inner components
Very informative THANK YOU,my G3 moves as i pull the trigger and i wanted to lesson the trigger by about 2 lbs or so,for a smoother one handed pull👍👊

I installed the Keep Tinkering Flat-faced SAO trigger that shortened/reduced the travel by 45%. 5lb pull.

That’s what the TH9 is for I suppose

Working on it, the other ones out there are all 3D printed trigger shoes and don’t even break at 90. Stay subscribed to the email list for updates!
Omg no way. That requires a lot of knowledge. Great job. I. Not even close to get to that level.
My g3 performance is great the only thing I wish y'all would make is a detachable dove tail to stop slide bits
Great video, awesome job! Where did you get your shank tool?
One of a kind: www.mcarbo.com/gunsmith-shank-installation-tool.aspx

Definitely interested in a trigger for the g series
I would love a new trigger for the G3. The composite trigger feels very mushy.
Can you make a trigger that would break at 90 degrees instead of all the way back?
We started the trigger, and it’s a flat trigger that breaks right at 90deg

in case you lose the ball bearing in the safety it is a 1.5mm ball bearing

Do you have spring kits for the tisas px9 gen 3?
Good info, but part of a trigger spring kit is a sear spring but I didnt see that in here

@@Gb18th idk the taurus I have will rust 3 days after you oil it. If carried consistently.
I believe they changed the coating on later models though
Really like G2c only complaint with pistol is the movement of the mag when it’s inside grip frame any solutions
Did all that work and reuse the plastic sleeve for the firing pin I would invest in the aluminum metal for longevity and smoother accessory

Yes, we have tested it with factory ammunition with known hard primers with no issues. We don't test with reloads though due to variability.

im sure if you make a kit to reduce the pr travel it would sell a lot

I also lost a firing pin safety block SPRING. Where can I go to buy it or a kit? Would love to know. TY
If I mail you my G3 how much to upgrade and polish out the trigger?
What happens if i lost my safety sphere on sear?
Any spring kit for the gx4?
TH9?
Does it works on Taurus pt111 ?
Yes it will work on the pt111 millennium g2
What I don’t like is how far back the trigger goes before firing
How can you have an average pull of 3lb 5oz, when none of your pulls was below 3lb 11oz?
Your math is not mathing up...
Nice
Guess polimer take downs are not the same as steel frame, on steelframes pins are removed from right to left..
Taking the trigger out is the hardest part. Those pins are the worst.
Just fo a trigger kit, glock easier.
The worst part of this trigger is the way the trigger dingus doesnt completely engage until the rear of the pull creating an awful grittyness right before break.
I cant see how this kit will help that what so ever.
