I just installed this setup on my Max9.
    What a difference.
The trigger alone is a massive improvement over the factory Ruger trigger. Ruger should have never released thus gun with a trigger tike that. It's junk, in my opinion.
The spring kit and polishing take it up even another level. Very smooth with a clean break.
Not too light for EDC. Just right.
    Well done Mcarbo!

Another example of MCARBO making good guns even better. An excellent tutorial for installation of both the new trigger and spring kit. However, what is refered to in the video as the "Extractor" is actually the ejector.

Just ordered the spring kit. I have your spring kits on my LCP Max, 3 of my Gen 5 Glocks and my Mossberg MC2C and it made a huge difference in all of them. Great stuff!

I bought a Max 9 several months ago and also think the factory trigger is the short coming on what is otherwise a excellent pistol. I installed this flat-faced trigger on mine and now I love the gun.

Any reason you didn't lubricate the pivot & sliding points as you reassembled?

I received my new flat triggerr from Galloway yesterday and had the gunsmith install it today along with my new guide rod and spring. Time to test it out. I’m excited.

Great demonstration. I have a Max 9 with 800 trouble free rds. through it yet the trigger is all over the place. Interesting I find that I have owned I believe every .357 mag revolver that Ruger makes and every one has been rock solid with no play in any parts.

Excellent video!!! Disappointed though the low cost of the gun needs a trigger upgrade for about $70. The gun's not such a great deal after all. At least there is an upgrade. Maybe you guys can combine the trigger & spring kits and nock off a couple bucks. If I'm going to pop for the trigger I'll also buy the spring kit.

One of the best trigger replacement for max I've watched! I've installed the "other" trigger and watched their video couple times to replace it. You rock dude! Now to order this one and re-due it again. Thank you!

I got a competitor's product. I'd say the only improvement M*Carbo could make is a pure flat trigger (like that of the KSG) and making sure it is also valid for the 3518 (CA model).

You don't have to remove the trigger safety roll pin (ie. disassembling the safety bar) from the trigger to take out the trigger pin.
Alternate way of removing the trigger pin: If you take a 1/16 punch or dental pick and reach in the trigger pivot arm hole, you can, with a little pressure, slide the trigger pivot pin up enough to be able to grab the pin with needle nose pliers from the top and will come out. (Just make sure the end of the trigger spring is facing forward so the spring eyelet inside is not impinging on the trigger pin.)

After only 400 rounds through mine the takedown plate broke and will not allow the takedown pin to be removed, the slide locks open with rounds still in the magazine and the slide doesn't always lock open after yhe last round is fired. I'm very disappointed. I now have to take it back to the dealer and have it sent into Ruger for repairs. I loved the pistol at first but these issues happened after only 2 times of shooting it and only 400 rounds. Please keep this in mind if you are planning to buy one as this seems to be a common issue with the Max-9. Ruger really needs to step up their quality control and make the changes to these pistols to make them safe and reliable.

At 13:30, to remove the stock trigger had to punch out the “small pin “on the trigger to remove the trigger safety rod and then punch out the trigger pin, the M Carbo trigger does not have the “small pin” so how can I remove the trigger safety rod and trigger pin ?

I wonder if the Mcarbo pinches trigger finger like the maxxis trigger does? Maxxis trigger felt great until I shot 3 mags with it. Finger tip didn’t like it.

Not sure if I'll get my answers but from removing the fire control unit, does that mean i can replace the take down plate from my gun? Just a curiosity

I have no problem with the pull weight of the trigger and really do not like light triggers on these small pistols that may end up in a pocket... I do not like the shape of the trigger or how far the center safety blade sticks out past the main trigger shoe.

I installed this trigger and the takeup to the wall is all but the same as the stock trigger. I called MCarbo and they told me to back out(counterclockwise) to shorten the takeup. This video says to go clockwise. I went both ways and the takeup was still long. I'm disappointed with this trigger. I can set my Johnny Glock trigger right at the wall but I set it just short of the wall.

I ordered one, we might need to remove the mag disconnect. The Galloway trigger requires removal of the mag disconnect for it to work, so it may be the same for the mcarbo.
I'll likely order a Galloway recoil spring down the road. Apparently the stock recoil spring is known to break.

    • @cacadaca4123

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Only difference with the max 9 for state compliance is the Lci which deals with the slide. Highly doubt ruger would change a trigger design

    • @bucdan9242

@@cacadaca4123 they incorporated a magazine disconnect in the California model. The tolerances on the trigger in Cali models is very loose.

Just finished installing this trigger and i am having an issue where if you place your entire finger on the trigger safety it will not allow you to fully pull do to the shape being more square than round so you tend to pull the actual trigger before the safety which stops the gun from firing.
before installing this trigger my gun would fire %100 of the time when squeezed do to the round ness which required the safety to be pulled in first before firing now i would say its a 70/30. This trigger can only be shot with your finger tip and not the first little knuckle crease.
    I wouldn't recommend!
On the other side of things the spring kit feels great!

Why in the world would Ruger make such a bad decison on the max 9 , by putting a sorry trigger on the gun . Don't they know that's poor quality control . It will definitely slow down the sales on the max 9 . Good Grief Ruger
