I just wish there were more close ups and highlights when talking about certain parts rather than being zoomed out the majority of the time. This is okay for help, but for someone who's a visual learner like myself I would have appreciated seeing each part being plugged in rather than seeing most of it from the back and in super speed up mode.

That's not too bad to be fair if you have the money.. some places will charge much more. I would have probably done that as well at some point but being broke all the time kinda forced me to learn to build stuff. I'm glad about it now because I gained the skillset however back in the day I wasn't too thrilled at first.
Guide is very helpful and thorough, but it still made me very sad and anxious to know I'll have to do all that to upgrade my PSU 😢. Thank you though, I'll follow your advise step by step.
Don't be afraid pinch that cord and pull even wiggle it a little. I use by other gander to brace the motherboard down to keep it from bending. Most people here couldn't snap a pcb if they tried lol.
Nice I'm gonna be doing that very soon with a new high end psu since my current psu is making a clicking noise when ever i load a game or exit a game which is totally weird!
@@jackiebiskan4748 My pc was getting loud when playing games on steam and riot client like valorant. Plus they also crash or restart the pc while playing. So I decide to clean inside the psu and after screwing back in. It won't turn on. What do you recommend doing
Of course. Make a power supply shroud for the looks but not take into account that it will now be more difficult for the user to take out or put in the PSU...
I will be attempting this next week when I buy a new power supply. I just upgraded my GPU after old card ceased to work. turns out the new card needs 550w and my supply at the moment is 500w. have no idea if my current supply is modular or not yet. question I have is will a new power supply come with the needed cables or will that be extra purchases necessary?
It looks hectic because pre builders put about %5 effort into cable management and buy cheap PSU. Then they shove a $2 fan hub with and max out the cheap RGB fans to attract people that think RGB=better PC and that makes a rat nest of cables. Your new cables and the mothor board plugs will be labeled so you literally match them up it's hard to do it wrong. And if you take a little time and use cable ties it will be way better than the original pre built was guaranteed 👌
Fantastic guide. All was going well until I found out the company I had bought the PC from wired the Power supply internally. I have no idea the name of the wires I need to buy can you tell me their names?
I am trying to fix an I-Series Tower that shuts off as soon as you try to start it. I am assuming that the power supply is bad. The power supply is a High Power Model HP1-J600GD-F12S. When I looked for a replacement, there was only a used one. Can you recommend a suitable alternative model?
I Have the "Model:TraceMR157i SKU:6451091" and the power supply doesn't come out that way. When I unscrewed the power supply, it just fell down inside the riveted case. There's no release like in your video. Very annoying as I am upgrading my daughters Video Card and need a new power supple for the 8 pin cord. :/
Late af but are the only things that I need to remove the cables from the psu??? cus i also have a prebuilt and I saw some wires that connect to something with audio at the lower part of the motherboard and the connector has a logo audio and usb.. idk if I should plug them out or no since I cant see if they're a part of the psu cables.
anyone knows how to fix the issue with new psu that causes pc to restart while playing games ? didnt have that issue with my previous psu before it died after 3 yrs of using it
No. Unless otherwise stated by manufacturer (*some seasonic power supplies in particular*), you may never mix the cables of two different power supplies. They are not identical, and will more-likely-than-not result in PSU failure. Best case, it fries a cable or the PSU. Worst case, it fries other components, and starts a fire.
I purchased an IbuyPower Y40 (I7) PC from Best Buy, Lady Lake, FL, 02 Nov 2024. I want to upgrade the PSU from the 700W that was installed on it, to a 1000W PSU. But, I need to know what type of PSU I need to purchase that can be installed in the machine. I don't know enough to buy a "modular", "semi-modular", "non-modular". I have a Total Tech program with Best Buy, so they will install the PSU, however, I need to have input back from you, regarding the type of unit I need to buy.
I dont understand why we pulling out every cable out of the motherboard why not only swapping the cables from the old power suply to the new power suply
That is an incredibly weird choice to run a single fan radiator for liquid cooling...at that point you'd benefit a lot more from a decent air cooler. Yikes..
Where can i get the 6pin argb fan hub that came with your computer... mine smoked and burned... the one i got from amazon works on different brand fans but not the ibuypower fans? I sent email to your techsupport but no reply and i cant use my pc without fans...

you said that for the video card, you should run a second cable.
But how?
You didn't have any space left to run a second cable?
He said IF the graphics card requires it. That one in particular did not require an extra cable.
