Fantastic video as always mad dog. Thanks so much for doing such a comprehensive review of this. I was thinking of getting it and your video has made up my mind.
Thank you!
Been watching the channel for awhile now. Always great content! And this video has been by far the been the best break down of this box set. Not sure if I’ll buy this one just yet as I already own all the movies on digital, but may buy it as a gift for my brother and his kid. Great content as always!
Thank you for the kind words!
Very good review and information. Thanks! May The Force Be With You!
Despite being a huge Star Wars fan, the only Star Wars Episode that I have ever owned is The Force Awakens when I bought it in 2015 on Blu-Ray. I have always just watched Star Wars when it came on TV and if I rented the movies from the library on DVD or VHS. I got this set and I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s my first time owning any Star Wars movie (except TFA, Solo, and Rogue One) and I love having them in 4K. I don’t care that most people don’t like this set, I think it was absolutely worth my money and I finally own the Star Wars movies after being a fan of the franchise my whole life!
Thanks so much for the info! Much appreciated!
Love your Star Wars Room!
Thanks for the review and you honest opinions.
Is there any new extra materials (exclusive) on the box set? or is all th same you will find if you buy the movies individual ?
Hi! I Would like to know if the deleted scenes are the same ones that were included in previous collections.
Have you had any chance to review each Disk in your 4k TV yet? I have this saga set myself and noticed on some movies disk issues such as the “Rise of Skywalker” at the end credits as they begin to come up the picture blurs, like static on top of screen and it becomes more obvious when you change view to full screen. This last a few seconds and then it disappears. This shouldn’t be happening and I saw this issue across few other disk in some of the scenes. I advise to view each movie carefully and look for blurs or static typically occurs on top of the screen.
I want to know if it’s just me having these issues with my set of the Special Edition box or it can my OPPO player or it’s common to others and wide Problem coming from Disney.
I got mine form the U.K. great channel keep it up.
Thanks Kyle! I wondered what was in that mega box
It's a lot of stuff, but not sure it's worth the price.
Kindly, is there a site with in depth details of the blu-ray box set of the 2020 remasters?
Would you happen to know if these bonus discs are exclusive to this set? Or are they in with each movie in their individual package?
I was able to score original cuts of the movies on a blu ray format at 720p. Awesome edition to the collection.
I would like to geta the saga in a digital format. Im case If you dont use the codes
Are the digital copies 4K?
Wow great review of it Kyle
Thank you!
UHD discs has spanish subtitles?
I'm only ever buying them again based on two criteria. Either 100 gig UHD discs for the 2020 Special Edition, or if the theatrical cuts are offered.
That's cool what you have
damn dude, you went all out huh LOL
Like yourself I have the VHS from the 80s and 90s. The Laserdisc, dvd, bluray and the new trilogy films again on steelbook 4k.
I'm totally torn on this set at the moment and if its worth the cost.
11:32 Does this contain the original movie versions released in theaters? No.
Have it several times on Laserdisc, DVD, and blu-ray from before. Is this 4k really necessary? I'll pass.
My question is, is there any difference with the blu-ray version of this box-set compared to the one from 2011?
Anything done with the individual movies since then?
9:20 into your video it seems that this 4k box set as you say, doesn't have any content index book. That sucks. So it is better to buy them individually. Talking about the box itself, the blu-ray The Complete Saga boxset from 2011 wins.
I have a DVD set that has the new and the old in one collection, but the old version's audio is stereo and it's not anamorphic, so you get quality loss when you stretch them to fit
I feel bad now for not including the audio selections for each disc. LOL. Jess is usually yelling at me to turn things down, so I just skipped over thinking to look at the setup features.
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats this calls for a second review... One AFTER you watched it all 😂
Great video, personally i have no interest in buying anymore boxsets unless they one day release cleaned up versions the original cuts without all the extra cgi stuff. I enjoyed force awakens at cinema but find myself very disinterested in it these days and i have no intentions of watching last and rise ever again, i have those dvd releases with the theatrical cut discs so im happy to stick with those. I know the prequels had alot of issues but for me at least they had a consistent storyline, something the disney trilogy never has, so for me it ends with return of the jedi 👍, therefore i can't justify paying this price 2bh. Keep up the good work mate 👍👍
Been watching star wars all day lol
Not a bad way to spend the day!
The bonus disc in this set is a exactly the same as the individual release for rise of Skywalker.
The digital release of rise of Skywalker includes a exclusive feature featuring the music of Star Wars with John Williams.
All the special features were ported over from the 2011 blu ray with the conversations being available for the first time on disc and the same with being able to watch the last Jedi with the John Williams score.
Worth noting on the Force Awakens blu ray is the disc with the director’s commentary with JJ as featured in the 3D collectors set.
I’m just pissed Lucasfilm never added from Star Wars to Jedi the making of a saga as a special feature it was omitted in the 2011 set and now this 2020 set.
I have all the UK releases for rise of the skywalker as it gets released here along with the 4K box set which I also have on pre order as an Amazon exclusive in addition to two digital copies on April 20, 17 on digital
Thank you for the additional information. The Williams piece is also included on the Best Buy steelbook edition. At one point, I kept up on all the extras and where they were, but with the splitting of extras by retailers here, I’ve given up trying to remember where I’ve seen things before.
ViewFromTheCheapSeats No worries it’s the Star Wars home video collector in me.
Whether the set is worth is actually relative and more of a personal preference I would say, it just depends what sort of collector you are ultimately.
I’m literally getting my copy just because I want it for the collection but I’m never going to open it, that said I might get another copy to open just to have the book on a coffee table or something because I know I will never use the discs because I’m still looking to get the individual releases so those will be the ones I watch/ripped to a Plex server.
My ultimate call long as the Star Wars home video collector is to have a compilation of cuts from 95-2020 of the Star Wars saga with all the available special features from the 1993 definitive collection laserdisc to the Leonard Malton interview from 95 all the way up to the 2011 special features.
From Star Wars to Jedi because I have at least two VHS copies of that, ironically the first time I watched it wasn’t long after Carrie Fisher died.
I may have struggled watching briefly.
Ultimately I understand it’s a big project and undertaking but it’s definitely one that I’m willing to do especially when I include all my other movies and TV shows because in the end I just want instant access to everything that I own just without the typical digital copy bottleneck size of my collection be damned. 😜
If you’ve got this far I hope you found this comment insightful and again I’m glad you found my previous comment informative.
Thanks again from one Star Wars fan to another
I am proud of myself that I have only re bought the ones I really love for 4k, Episodes 3,4,5,7. All on sale too.
No ROTJ? C’mon!
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats people always say that when I tell em this haha, but yea I just get kinda bored of the Ewok scenes but I know many love them! Cheers like the channel
Final form Rey can WHOOP any force user.
The packaging looks cool but would give me anxiety removing the discs incase they scratch 😅 think I’ll just go for the regular Skywalker Saga Blu-Ray Boxset instead for the movies on Blu-Ray and the discs of extras. Eventually when I get a 4K tv I can always buy the 4K versions individually if I do decide to upgrade.
that is the worst packaging all it is gonna do is end up with time making the disc skip.like they don't care though u mess them up because the idiots don't know how to package them Correctly and u spend over 200 bucks to buy them again.
So, since most of these versions of the films - and the bonus materials - have been available before, over a number of different releases, you’re basically paying $250 + tax for packaging that is going to damage the discs.
That’s some kind of “flex”, I guess.
100% accurate. The tough part about the set is that there is and was no information about what was included or how the packaging worked. I think that unless you wanted the kitchen sink in one box, I’d recommend getting the individually packaged movies.
@Solverz I'm sure they'll release them all individually in time, probably wanted to leave it to push people into buying this boxset
Solverz You can get the individual films in 4K UHD; I’ve seen them at Target and Best Buy in the $25-30 range.
Solverz you can get all 11 live action Star Wars movies in 4K individually. They are the same discs in this box set but they are available individually
Wow How much??
I don't think it's worth it for me, aside from the 4k discs the bonus features are identical to what I got on the iTunes set in 2015. I ended up pre-ordering The Rise of Skywalker standalone but after the country went into lockdown it was delayed on me so I'll have to make do with watching that on iTunes as well. I actually didn't like the bonus features on the Blu-Ray box set myself, there is one good disc which has a handful of legacy documentaries and something on the empire strikes back and a bunch of fan-made parodies but they made this bizarre decision with the other bonus 2 discs where the documentaries aren't presented in full screen they're presented but in a box surrounded by a static graphic where they place lower thirds.
I need to know if Anyone who owns this set knows...does this A New Hope version include Greedo saying "Mahclunky"?
Skip to ~14 minutes into this vid for your answer
can these be played on playstation 4
you can play the normal blu ray but not 4k blu ray with the ps4 it won't work but if you plan to by a ps5 , the console will be able to read 4k blu ray :)

27 disks ? Goodness, overload might as well get a 10lb bag of sugar with a spoon, a gallon of coffee and some toothpicks for your eyelids..
It's definitely a marathon for trying to watch all of the content.
Lol!.
Great Vlog as always.
Am a bit torn about getting any of this. Am a collector myself but when it comes to Star Wars it's the Disney movies I have a problem with or some of them.
When I say Disney movies I mean the Last jedi and Rise I have a problem with.
I like force awakens or " New hope remake 😜", Rogue one and Even the Solo movie i like them but last jedi and rise are all over the place.
Keep up the great work with the Vlogs
I still find parts of all of the new movies to be great, but not overly happy with them all. I think if they had one overarching plot to follow across the 3 movies and didn't try to have multiple directors involved, things would have ended better.
Read the novelization of Rise. I'm a hardcore fan, but I was satisfied leaving the theater after Rise. Then I read the book and really understood what JJ was doing, and now I'm happy with the conclusion. It fleshes out the movie, so when I rewatch Rise for a third time I'm sure it will just get better.
It's good to hear you enjoyed it
Did the booger that you wiped on your shirt while you typed that come out in the wash? Or do you even wash your clothes?
@@ed1rko17 believe it or not am a train engineer and my wife is a pharmacist, so do we wash our own clothes the answer is no. Do we have someone that comes in 4 days a week and cleans the house and washes our clothes the answer is yes.
Does this box include Dutch subtitles?
Gerry Seynaeve The Dutch always told me since they speak English so well that they don’t translate.
@@sturmbreakers7817 LOL
Can i play 4K on my blue ray player please ?
The 4K discs cannot be played on a Blu-Ray player. You’d need a 4K player. However, this set has both 4K and Blu-Ray discs.
adam tilley no.
Out of of all 10 films I only upgraded star wars 4,5,6 on 4k
how did you find the picture of all films? Better than the old blu rays? normaly most says: Episode 1-3 "the new ones" are not so good.
Cheap Seats..... The cure for Corona boredom!
HA! Thank you!
Worth it as one draws their final breath.
Did you like the rise of Skywalker
Regarding your comment about the possibility of an 8K release of these films, it is extermely unlikely because the umbrella organisation that includes film studio's etc have already announced that there will be no 8K psychical discs.
Which is funny since the common person(or anyone for that matter) likely won't get bit rates touching 8k in 10 years.
Ohh ahhh shiny
Did they remove the Fox fanfarre???
No
The Last Jedi in this boxset does not have Dolby Vision whereas the single disc release does. VERY disappointed.
I whant thst so much
The 2011 version included NONE of the amazing bonus features from the DVDs. Though admittedly they did include a ton of new stuff. This new 4K version includes a lot of that back in, but still EOD is missing
What's EOD??
@@BenDayProductions Empire of Dreams. A 2004 documentary that's on Disney+ now and came with the 2004 Star Wars Trilogy DVD set and is pretty much one of the best documentaries about making the OT.
6:31 Plottwist: I like all three of them 😳
This is what I’m after
Rey final form can freaking WHOOP any force user. WHOOP
In a year or so they'll put out the exact same set at a cheaper price and in 3 normal blu-ray cases with a box sleeve or just one big blu ray case. They did it with the James Bond collection and the Planet of the Apes collections. This is just early price gouging
It's ideal for fans who didn't buy the earlier releases.
I would pick this up. But I am not supporting disney’ Star Wars.
The only reason to buy the 4K. Is the Dolby Atmos.
favorite line from all the movies-"sorry about the mess!"
your list is exactly the same as mine.
Great minds!
Just picked it up.......I HATE THE PACKAGING......
Withe all the inclusion of CG in every film, they’re not to look that much better over the 1080P release.
🤙🏽
Thank you!
Rebuying the same movie isn’t ever a problem, bad art work is the problem. They Should’ve went big on this one but didn’t.
It's not that expensive. 27 discs is less then $10 a disc
I'm pretty sure I have the 2004 original Dvd movies too. I didn't like the enhanced versions of the originals.

4. Force

Yeah I got the complete saga to in 2011 lol, money grab crap I'll buy the movie not worth buying all again.
It's always a money grab with SW releases!
No deleted scenes for ROTS ? That means no deleted scenes with Hayden Christensen, So I will never buy ROTS on what type of media what so ever...Or we have to wait a few more years where Disney redeems it self and releases it again (to make more money out of it) with those deleted scenes...I hate Disney !!! The ruined everything !! The rest of the set is probably (at least for episodes I - VI) what was already released on the hundreds of versions that came before and wich everybody already owns since the last release of the complete saga on Blue-Ray !!!
I think there’s come a point in me that now says enough! $250+ for a set that’s kept in cardboard, and has nothing new to offer, apart from a box, really is starting to take the biscuit. I must have spent hundreds and hundreds of $$’s on SW movies over the years; I think we’re getting repeatedly punched in the face over and over, for basically not very much at all. Not for me anymore..
These sleeves really suck. I swerved the Hitchcock 4k set due to this.
with solo omitted-I won't buy it. Solo is my favorite so far.
Disney-Lucasfilm too rich to give a toss
First? Woot!
Woot! You win the day!! :)
My ranking:
1: The Rise of Skywalker
2: The Last Jedi
3: The Force Awakens
4: Return of the Jedi
5: The Empire Strikes Back
6: A New Hope
7: Revenge of the Sith
8: Attack of the Clones
9: The Phantom Menace
Not a bad draw
No. Episode 9 was a nice wrap up the way Abrams fixed Episode 8s disappointing screw up. And I felt really bad for Mark Hamill’s “ Luke “ character the way it went out. And we all know Mark did it for the money and definitely not for the agreement of how his character ended up in Episode 8. You could clearly see that in interviews. But after all. They are just movies. But the original trilogy Episodes now, 4-6. Will NEVER be beaten for story line nor originality cause it was the origins to Star Wars franchise. Everything else is just add ons from the original trilogy. So would I call Episode 8 a masterpiece?? 😂😂 NOT AT ALL!! I agree with die hard SW fans. It really should have been removed or replaced before Episode 9 came out and before Abrams, once again had to bail out the mess Disney and Johnson did. But Disney’s damage already took place. Notice I said Disney and NOT Lucas. The only mistake Lucas made was selling it to Disney. But again. Just like you buying the Skywalker saga on 4K?? And Lucas selling it Disney and Hamill reprising his role as Luke?? It’s ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!! Cash grabs!!
The downside is... no Rogue One.
That should be included.
Not solo . Fuck that trash
Don't give your money to Disney
Out of all those discs in that Skywalker Saga 4K set. You can smash or burn The Last Jedi. Worst Star Wars movie ever made. And the only good thing about The Phantom Menace was the Duel Of Fates scene for the last 20 mins of the movie. But another $250 US?? 😬 Is it worth it?? Unless your a die hard into 4K picture and have an amazing Dolby Atmos surround set up?? But you’ll just be doing it all over again when 8K format comes out. So more 💵💵💵. In my opinion it’s another Disney cash grab. On discs or Plus.
Comparing to Episode 9 is Episode 8 now a masterpiece
