I notice that the japanese cuisine requires a lot of time and effort. Is that something cultural? I wish the Dutch put so much love and care into their dishes. I love love love japanese food!!

Yesss. Nikuman (and kareman, etc) is one of my favorite foods in Japan. I have to learn how to make this properly before I go back to America.

Very clever use of everyday items to make a stove top steamer. I'm really glad I watched.

Man...You're the best! Thanks xD
Your cooking show is funny & yet so yummy. LOL ♡
Great recipe!! Tried it last night and loved it. However, when making the dough I noticed it was a little tough when I added 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder so when I made more (had too much filling) I used just a little over a tsp and they came out perfect!
I know c3po626 he a good friend of mine :)
As good as you cook, I can't believe you like Domino's. That's imitation pizza...
yummy!!!!
You're very innovative!
I like the video.
Thanks for the steaming method (:
I like to use lean ground beef in mine - I have had the kind where there is a boiled egg in the middle - sooo yummy!
owww.!!! I love your videos Runny!!! So Happy that you're talking at the end of the videos are longer now! AMAZING ^_^
This was the best video in a while, i'll definitely make it!!!!!! Seems to be really really good!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌😃😃
Yum! I love your videos.
Is Baking powder normal / traditional?
Because I always use yeast dough, when making german "steam noodles" or russian "Manti". Is BP better or is there a difference in taste?
yeast itself has a certain flavor that is present when steamed so baking powder would be better i'm not sure if it is traditional but my dad always makes the dough with baking powder and it is always delicious. I think it is also a bit faster since you do not need to wait for the yeast to ferment to make the air inside the dough.
uhm..Manti is NOT Russian..it's Turkish!!
I asked me exactly the same
oooohh (drooling....)
they were so good!
Im happy i foudn your channel.
I ate my first nikuman ever tonight.
It took me a long time to prepare (about 2 hours) because I'm not too familiar with cooking lol
I will experiment with the taste because, I found it a little too sweet...
Thanks for the recipe!!
Hi, I am studying in Florida, and I have been tired of eating instant noodles. But I just watched your website cooking noodle using chicken. I will stop at Publix and get some chicken and cook noodles. makes my mouth watering. During the winter break, I will try your recipes one by one. Thank you so much for creating this wonderful and helpful channel!
I love your videos man! I'm dieting a bit now so just salads every day. :( I get a slice of pizza on the weekends though. It keeps me going. Your videos are great too. Once I lose enough weight maybe I'll try making nikuman. I haven't had it in Japan, so I'd like to try it!
これ見て肉まん作りたくなってきた!
"looks like wrinkled old man" xD haahhahaah
Runny, I freaking love you right now!! First of all, I love Nikuman and have made it several times after seeing it on Cooking with Dog, but it would take me 2 hours to make it! Your version looks just as delicious and so much faster!!! Second of all, the way you say Costco is adorableeeee!! :D :D
wonderful :)
That looks delicious! It looks like a dumpling. I'll surely make this in the weekend. =D
Everything tastes good with Japanese Mayo!
Looks delicious! We can actually cook without the dog lol!
Costco pizza for the win
Haha mayo goes well with most things! I'll try making the nikuman. Thanks Runny! :3
Now i am hungry for some
Really nicely done. I love cooking like this. Simple but tasty. I'll have to give these a try. Thanks so much for continuing to upload great recipes. I hope you have a good day. I look forward to the next vid. :)
Yummy! But pizza can be healthy too! Make a cauliflower crust, use fresh tomatoes and a good cheese and basil, omg, so good!
Thank you so much Runny :D I had watched the Cookingwithdog recipe, but somehow the dough was very long to make, and I don't have a steam cooker.. But thanks to you now I can make my own nikuman :D and feel stupid for not having thought about the steam trick earlier.
手作り肉まんおいしそう!!!
Hi Noriko!
+runnyrunny999 Thanks for the explanation! I look forward to making these some day.
Is there any kind of sauce you would suggest that would go good with this?
talking time is awesome as ever!!
This recipe is really the best I like the dough with backing powder.
Cuz there is a other version with hefe. its not that good i think.
Wow, I had no clue Runny, I would have thought you grew up cooking!
I made those tonight and they turned our really well and they were very tasty :-)
Hi runnyrunny may I know if we could substitute the sake with something else
looks ssooo ggooooddd!
So yummy looking o.O
There is something alike to this in hong kong (Dim sum) char Siew bao
The meat is mixed with red coloring
And it taste yummy!
This is because this is the Japanese version of the Char Siu Bao, Chinese invented it first.
This dish in my country is called Manto. Very yummi
Its that easy???? omg I'm gonna make some, I fricken love those
awesomeanni not yet :( been wanting to still! It looks easy enough
Are you Vietnamese? I'll definitely made one myself.
Doughをつくるのがめんどくさそうだけど、つくってみたくなった~! 牛肉でつくってみるのはどうだろう? たぶん豚挽き肉は近所のスーパーには売ってない。
ah I love it when my mom makes these =w=
Thank you soo much for making this RunnyRunny-san! >.< I always have a problem making the dough, but you made it look simple. Will definitely try it this weekend. :)
Yeap it is important to mix the meat really well because the pork will get even more combined and by mixing in a constant single direction will give it a really good texture. The meat would not be separated.
How can I make an order?
Mmmmmm, Manapua!
Looks great :) what can I use instead of mushrooms?:):)
Woo hoo! Costco!!
I made this today but with a slight variation. I used leftover pork shoulder instead of ground pork. Taste was great but I overstuffed a couple of the buns and that caused a few small holes in them. No problem, it was my first time trying this. I will get better with practice.
