This was real helpful. I’ve had this in my Amazon cart for a week and took it out because the wording was misleading. I thought it was the arm only, not the part that attached to the rails. Thanks!
You're right, John. However, Ram mounts are real expensive. For a similar setup, it would have cost twice as much. I plan on getting a Scotty rod holder for the other track.
Just picked this up, and realized you have to MAKE it work for larger transducers, like the one I have, and like the one you have in the video... I'm probably gonna return it, because although I can see that you made it work, it clamps on the teeth of the transducer clamp that bolts directly to these larger transducers, and I can foresee that wearing out over time... Guess I'm just gonna have to fork out the extra $30 bucks and get the YakAttack Switchblade...
This is awesome I have a similar kayak from field and stream and have 3 rails where I can place my fish finder i think the best thing for my transducer is to run an arm down the side like. Someone mentioned it might be unstable is that case? Because I’d be pretty discouraged to hear that especially with seeing that my kayak has slots for a fish finder and accessories to accommodate one
It might seem like a good option but it is Flimsy and therefore moves a lot affecting the readings, and more importantly it is brittle so it breaks as soon as it hits anything solid. I have had 2 of these and both broke within a month of me using it twice a week on my kayak. Definitely avoid. you would be better served with a DIY PVC mount.
Does the transducer get in the way of paddling, I had a concern about that..? I'm mounting it on the gear track of a Ascend H10 Kayak. Thanks for your response.
Bought a Garmin Echomap 73SV It's 54GT Transducer is bloody well HUGE looks like a medium sized iron ingot and weighs nearly as much I have heard guys complain the Scotty 141 transducer braket isn't sturdy enough to support larger SV capable transducers like the Garmin 54GT and I have searched the internet TO DEATH trying to confirm what is the largest transducer the 141 will safely support but have found no information includeding at Scotty's website. Will likely have to make my own transducer bracket out of PVS or aluminum

You're welcome. I agree with the confusion. It took quite a bit of digging around to figure out which mount to get.
Thanks, man. I was intending to scupper mount, but this seems like a simpler and cheap alternative👍.
You’re welcome.
I like how easy it is to take off when not needed.
Scotty makes decent rod holders as well. Ram Mounts provides great options for mounting the locater screens. Good info, thanks.

Exactly the video I was looking for. I have a Lifetime Teton too.
Could you show yourself mounting the Striker 4 on top of the rail mount?
Yes, I believe I did that in another video. Look on my channel for 'Garmin Striker 4 installation' - something like that.

Great video, is your transducer facing the right position? I think you have to flip it around to the opposite position,
Thank you.
It’s positioned that way because I get a better reading. I’ve tried both
Oh ok I have to try that in my next trip, thanks

How do you connect the transducer to Scotty 141? Any accessories?

Yea it’s something that’s worked well for me. I remember to be careful. Easy setup

Great video. Very informative. Thank you.

How did you attach the transducer to the arm? My finder came with instructions for mounting to transom or trolling motor
Thank you
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching
What fish finder did you get
Garmin Striker 4 - I've had it for years before making this video.
How did you get the plastic rail?
It came with the mount
I would have appreciated if you put a link where to buy the mount instead of the equipment you used to make this video which we could care less...
Sorry about that. I must have forgotten the link.
I’ll find it and update the description.
