Whatever happened to the good old days when we had to steal milk crates from behind convenience stores and make rod holders from PVC? I mean, that's what I've hear. From a friend. I've never stolen one myself. I swear. :::looks around nervously:::
Hey True Crimson, why does your milk crate say Speedway on it? I still make my rod holders from PVC. Better than any rod holder out there that I've seen sold out there.
The local dollar store had some , not for sale but one of them found a new home. He looked depressed from holding milk for a career and wanted to retire and go fishing.
Hey, I got mine from the back of a BP gas station. There not steel and I bought $3 rod holders from Walmart, but its all held together with zip ties and a couple screws.
The brush gripper is an outstanding piece of equipment if used correctly and in the right circumstances. I don’t use it all the time, but it’s always in my yak on a river.
Haha, I have a shortie paddle and I love it. I use it to make small corrections in bow angle to get better casts. It's easier to grab and quicker to use than my long paddle. It's good for pushing off of stuff too.
A note about kayak theft. Inexpensive insurance is available. I have an Old Town Loon 126 Kayak rigged for fishing that I have a fair investment in. It cost me $15 a year from for insurance that covers theft of the kayak , electronics and fishing equipment if stolen from my truck while traveling.
Hear me out on the brush grip, I don't often use mine for anchoring but it does help get my lures out of thick tree limbs while also giving me the second point of contact anchoring my kayak to the ground via anchor and the tree via grip. Using the grip as leverage allows you to shimmy the limb low enough in a couple cases to help a lot. I have also used my to tether myself to my fiancee's kayak easily as she isn't good with knots and i trust this grip far more than any of her knots. The last reason I like it is it has just replaced one tool on my kayak to add a bit more utility. The fact it can be used as a muskie fish grip is another reason I like it. I would agree with all your points on why on its own it may not be worth money but thinking outside the box on this one adds a lot of value for me.
Mr Minnesoda, I can appreciate that you are cross utilizing your brush gripper. As they say on the Appalachian Trail "Hike Your Own Hike" so fish on my friend. .Ps.I hope your girlfriend doesn't see this post.
It seems like any gear that says that it is for kayaks is more expensive. My thoughts now are, if I see something that I want for my kayak, I will see if there is something else that can be used or modified easily. I could justify $100 for a light/flag combo. So I made one out of a $5 light, some orange fabric, silver duct tape, and a fiberglass snowbank marker. Another example is rope; if you go to the outdoor section and the hardware section of Walmart, you can find essentially the same rope cheaper in hardware. My biggest advice is that if there is something that you want for your kayak, there is probably a DIY video for it. I understand that not everyone has the time, space, or skills to do some of the projects. But if you can, you can save yourself some money. Second biggest advice, there is no such thing as a "best" product. "Best" is subjective for each person. I bought an inflatable PFD because so many people said it was the best way to go. I ended up buying a traditional style PFD instead because I liked the pockets for my phone, license, etc.
Great creativity with the light/flag mod and thanks for the words of wisdom. I hear ya on the DIY stuff. I love DIY'ing something. Even if I don't save a lot of money doing it... I find that the majority of the time my DIY mod is better quality at the end of that anyways. Thanks Ranko!
I’ve had an Old Town Scanoe for 40 years lol and I covered the bottom with Bedliner Coating and it skates over Rocks with ease. The Bedliner Coatings is for Life if you apply it correctly.
For plastic paddle blades just glue two 1 cm wide strips of strong plastic to the back of the blade. To make the aluminium poles less floppy put some electrical tape around the joints to take up any space and stiffen the pole joins.
I have been kayaking for about 10 years. I started out with the Aruba 10 like alot of people. It served me well for short trips on creeks but later bought a lifetime sit on. I have moved on to my Feel free, along with a HooDoo stingray, all tricked out for fishing bigger waters. Funny thing is, upgrading my paddle I thought was just a waste of money but I broke down and bought a quality paddle. That turned out to be one of the best investments so far. Love your videos.
I bought a pelican challenger 80, 8ft $200 kayak. Took it out on the bay/spi and a gang of lakes. I carry it INSIDE my car. I'm so happy with my set up, no trucks no trailers. I pull up to water, open trunk, carry kayak on top of my head to water, done.
gonna have to say ive had my lifetime tamarak for 3 years and ive bashed the hell out of it. hard landing, dragging bottoms, and even mounted a 55lb thrust motor on it. only scratches to show for it.
Ditto. Love my $235 (on sale) Lifetime Tamarack. It has served me well for 3-4 years now. I truly believe it is the best yet most inexpensive kayak available. That said, not impressed with the changes that Lifetime has made with their kayaks the past few years. Keep it simple guys, we will mod it to our liking. The cheap factory mods are ruining the kayak.
Hey man - that life step saved my life!! I tied it to that attack oar and swung it overhead, sling-style to ward off, this attacking gar!!! Great video sir !!
The brush thing is us old guys fault. We used to use similar clamps from Home Depot or Lowes to attach to a tree or other object. Sometimes it was to hold us in current, sometimes it was to take a quick relief break in the woods. I guess somebody caught on and started marketing them to kayak fishermen. I have a bunch of the clamps because I also use them at the shooting range to hold homemade clay holder targets tot he back board. The rescue steps came from touring kayakers in deep salt water. They really do use them. A lot of touring kayakers are yuppy hippy types and not much on DIY. Not as useful on SOTs. Not all kayakers are fishing. Cheap kayaks are a good entry for people who are not sure this is going to be good for them, and for people who can't afford better. I have some that are pretty old and they are still fine. I store them indoors so they are not subject to much ultra violet light. Heck, when I bought mine there were no fishing kayaks and no kayak specific accessories. I had to drill holes in them and install my own rod holders and other accessories bought from the boat section at Cabelas or Bass Pro.
Right on... I would imagine that if you needed a clamp.. that you could get some at HD for a few bucks. I guess rescue steps makes sense for touring kayakers in deep water. I don't understand how you could get in a kayak without a fishing pole. My mind just doesn't compute. :) Thanks for the add True Crimson!
@@wendellfishing Just thought of you and this today. Was out on Blue Marsh lake, back in a cove working a bank. I needed to re rig a rod. Every time I tried the wind and current would push me toward overhanging limbs. There was a downed tree in the water and one of the bare branches sticking out was thin enough so I clamped my fish grips to it to hold me in place while I re rigged. I have my fish grips leashed to the yak so it acted as a brush anchor.
You can spend $700 or eveen 6k on a fishfinder and yet a phone from 2006 is more waterproof, i k ow this from experince, i had a humminbird helix 9 and used it 1 time then went out another time and it sprinkled literally wasnt even enough to get the sidewalk wet and the fishfinder broke due to water damage and the screen never turned on again
I know I'm gonna piss off some, but the worst investment I've made is on a C-Tug! I hated the straps and how it lined up with my feelfree yak. For the same price, I purchased a Wilderness system and that became the best investment! Saved my aching back!
@wendellfishing I was looking into the Boondox landing gear and heard how it can crack your kayak, especially the feelfree brand. I am considering to purchase a native kayak and selling my feelfree...
Agree with everything but the no go on the aluminum shift plastic paddle I have two and they are both built like a brick wall very durable very very stiff paddles can't bend them and I'm 6'2" 250+ but they are both surprisingly light IMO both are very well made should last years of kayaking use
@@franktirado8357 Hey Frank, I like Garmin and have the Striker 4. Here's a highly rated GPS from Garmin that won't break the bank: geni.us/GarminStrikerPlus5
Good take. I offered to sell my perception to a friend, but he quickly dismissed the idea and bought a cheap Walmart special for $400 he was over the recomended weight limit for that model and the Kayak sank his first time out. He lets his kids use it now and after the 2nd month it started to develop a tare in the seam. Some things you can save money on but kayaks are one of them. You really cant cut corners on them.
Thanks JB, I just finished up another video about buying kayaks and a good rule around the weight limit that will hopefully help people when they are thinking about buying. Those cheap kayaks are simply expensive disposable kayaks.
Great video but I have the Back water assault paddle, it does not take the place of my paddle but it does affords me the opportunity to make slight adjustments while keeping the rod in my hand while fishing when the current is strong and as we know an 8' paddle takes two hands. Of course I fish in salt water where the current is always moving one way or the other.
Captain Cook! That may be why I didn't see a use for it. The only time I fish Saltwater is Deep Sea fishing. I do have an important question for you. Have you hacked any beavers, hawks, or big boy snappers with it?
I never got an assault paddle but a lot of creek guys also swear by them for small adjustments. I never had trouble using my main paddle one handed for slight adjustment.
Wendell Fishing: I agree with a lot of what you say, especially the crate kit (I returned mine when I saw what I got and bought a $7 crate from Home Depot -- though full disclosure now I use the Hobie H-Crate!) and that brush anchor. But I'm with Captian Cook on the Assault Paddle. In fact, I consider that a "must have" accessory! I have a Hobie Pro Angler 12 360. I use the Assault Paddle to push from shore during launch. And I've used it to grab my line and Savur Outdoors recovery braid line when I flipped and my rods went to the bottom. I'm fat and nearly 70 so have limited mobility and the Assault Paddle helps me grab some things. Branches too. I have had a raccoon hitch a (short) ride in my kayak, and caught a couple of big ol' snapping turtles, but I've never actually used the Paddle to Assault anything!
Brush gripper works great for me. Since you can't think of a single use, he 7:30 re are 2 examples. Attach yak to rock ledge or other stopping point. Second I use it as an anchor when in shallow water. I just pick up an appropriate rock and attach grabber. Love your videos...keep it up
@@wendellfishing As a couple examples, mounting a lithium battery in the tank well and in a crate. Not exactly an ideal concept. No, there was no dry box/bag lol. Another would be Trying to use PVC and pool noodles as stabilizers for an already stable kayak. In Short, there's no hope for these folks haha.
@@tennesseekayakfishing5691 how about the cart system screwed into any hull that weighs over 130 lbs hahaha. The weight is held at the top for these carts. I know folks swear by them, but even with a backing plate.... It's like saying you're never gonna fall out of your kayak. It's goin to happen... eventually. The area around the backing plate will get weak and help create an even Bigger hole.
This video is exactly what me and my buddy talk(and laugh) about after seeing some poor kayaker encircled by countless gadgets and doodads, barely even able to move because of all the crap in the way. And thats not even to mention how cheap so many of these "new" products are especially on Amazon. We use a canoe with trolling motor, minimal gear...rods, small tackle box, we make our own leaders and bring enough variety of artificials for anything we will encounter in our area. Its pretty simple and spending time fishing instead of having so much stuff around us in the way makes for a much more affordable and enjoyable experience. Subbed and Happy New Year!!
Right on DC, I can definitely see your point. Love me some Canoe fishing and portaging in the Boundary Waters up in MN. Need to get myself up there again soon. Happy new year to you as well
@@wendellfishing Someday Ill get up there my neighbor has some great spots for Northerns and others, and the clear waters there must be awesome! Tight lines and thanks!!!
Not bad. I have considered the hand paddle. But for this reason only. If I'm working parallel down a bank and throwing a squarebill, the nose of the kayak turns towards the bank. Right now I have to use my whole paddle to make micro steering adjustments between casts. The hand paddle would allow me to make the same adjustment, but with a smaller tool. My kayak is paddle only and does not have a rudder. As for the Yak Gear crate, if you buy just the crate without the accessories, it was selling for under $7 at Academy. It was the cheapest crate around. But that was 3 years ago so prices can change.
Right on TKF, I think I have already offended some people who own the hand paddle and hey.. as they say on the Appalachian Trail "Hike your Own Hike" so I respect that others find it useful. $7 bucks.. nice! I've even heard that at some places you can score them for free.
I just got into it and found a $600 used Old Town Topwater 120. Brought my friend who kayaks a lot to come with as the original retails for $1600. He looked it over and other than the obvious wear, it was in good shape. Heck of a deal. So there can be good deals, you just gotta know that your rolling the dice with Marketplace.
lol, brush gripped bit was funny. My home body of water is 800 acres of flooded bushes and it's much faster to clamp on than tie or drop an anchor. Still pretty funny.
Edward, apparently, everyone loves their brush grippers (as you can see in all of the comments). It's been interesting to see how everyone utilizes it in their area of the country.
Maybe I’m an idjit, but I own and use both the assault paddle and the bush gripper. I tend to fish smaller lakes and ponds. Having not not mastered the one handled paddle with my large paddle, I use the assault paddle in my off hand for positioning and back paddling while landing a fish. I often use the brush gripper when fishing standing timber and don’t want to drop an anchor right where I’m fishing.
You know... I can appreciate that you found them useful. I do have an important question. Have you hacked any Beavers, Hawks, or Big Boy Snappers lately with your Assault paddle?
@@wendellfishing No, and I can verify that it will not keep you from getting skunked. And the hook on it comes in handy for retrieving frogs that you overcast into sticker bushes along the bank. Don’t ask.
It's all I need. Transducer fits in a recess under the hull, feeds to the cheapie finder riding in a phone holder on top of the center console. Runs all season on 4 AAA batteries. Tells me what I need to know without needless cost and complications.
I just bought the brush gripper after having it sit in my amazon cart for over a month. This past weekend, took my kayak out with 11-17 moh gusts. Attached it to some mangroves and was able to get on some reds and a snook. I don't think I would've purchased it if I had a kayak with some peddles or a motor, but definitely got my $15 worth on the 1st trip. The rest I completely agree with!
Anthony! I've had quite a bit of pushback from the brush grabber but at the end of the day... I'm glad a lot of people are getting use out of it. It helped me gain some more perspective of where people fish and how they utilize it. Keep on keeping on!
@@wendellfishing yeah, man! I'm in South Florida, so there's always things to attach to in the water. Trying to go out more with less is the challenge!
I only use a short paddle (24 inch...ish) in my mariner...a full length is a pain to use when I'm fishing....the hand paddle isn't intended for travel....its for turning your yak...minor adjustments while fishing. Its significantly easier to grab the shorty and make an adjustment with my rod in one hand and the shorty in the other....its also really convenient for beaching when you have to raise your drive! full length stays inside my yak full-time. Its only there as a backup. Other then that I mostly agree. I guess you guys just don't understand what they're used for lol
For the record, you can get WAY better paddles than that for cheap. I paid $26 for a SeaSense X-TREME (96inch) to replace that crappy paddle that came with my Intex. The difference is night and day. It does have a 2pc aluminum shaft, but it's far lighter and more rigid than that Intex paddle. I'll continue using it when my new kayak (a real one) comes in.
I float with a 16ft canoe and do 3-5 day floats in the Ozarks. Solo. The brush grip anchor is ideal for these shallow and narrow rivers that are littered with debris. 550 cord and tied to the carry handle works well for me.
i use a brush griper to connect me and my gf when ocean fishing keeps us from drifting apart is very usefull as we can also quick detach if needed never used it to grab actual brush tho lol
I actually have a lucky castable fish finder my sister bought me for $60 n I only use it for depth n water temp works so far lol n I have the grip anchor which I never used. Thanks for the great video
Biggest piece of gear I regret buying is a old town sportsman pdl 120 instead of the big water pdl 132. The 120 is awesome but the 132 would have been way better for what I'm typically doing
Hey what's up just subscribed yesterday trying to catch up on all the videos. They are very useful as I am a new kayaker. Lol I actually bought the brush anchor and did not use it one time last summer. Maybe I can put it to some other use. Great videos and Information keep them coming!
on the brush grip i use it for when im catfishing and crappie fishing also since im mostly fish an active river it nice to be able to un latch from the trees to avoid on coming waves
my rule of thumb for any product is that a product with 100 reviews at 4 or more stars is worse than a product with 1000 or 2000 reviews at 3 or more stars. i usually do this because it means that the product has been subject to broader criticism or testing by clients and usually will perform better or at least more consistently
my cheapo lucky fish finder must be a "lime." it is so awesome to have a reliable cheapo I can keep in the yak without disconnecting anything from the boat.
I enjoy your videos and learn a lot from you, BUT we live in different worlds. In New Mexico, we have reservoirs that are full of brush and we frequently anchor to them. The brush gripper works better than the woodworking clamps I was using. In my pre-pedal days, I found it easier and more effective to use the Attack Paddle to make a minor adjustment when fighting a fish that the full-size paddle. Thanks for the good work and keep the videos coming.
Right on Lou.. you are correct.. I don't find it particularly useful but I know a lot of people that do because of what they fish. I can appreciate that
FYI: I'VE OWNED A LOT OF KAYAKS... ASSAULT PADDLE I built a "shortie paddle" over 10 years ago because sometime's you just need to adjust your kayak position real quick I keep it right next to me at all times. When I saw the hook on the assault... I added it to mine! I don't want to wrestle out the full size paddle just to adjust the angle of my yak. PORTABLE FISH FINDER Got mine for $5 at a yard sale For 5 bucks...I LOVE IT! GARMIN S4 Is also garbage... Just buy a used lowrance with GPS & DSI. KAYAK CRATE If you spend anything on a "Milk crate" you're just a youtube lemming! (See it gotta have it) CHEAP KAYAKS I buy them for pennies on the dollar. Clean, re-bungee, replace a handle or two.... sell for $200... I MAKE $$K's ON THESE THINGS! 90% of people search by price not features BRUSH GRIPPER I just took a $1 spring clamp from home depot bent one side in about ½" IT GRIPS EVERYTHING!
I got lucky. Craigslist buy - picked up a 17' Kevlar Knysna Stilleto X for $60. Pressure wash, rubbing compound, some 303 and new rudder cables and looks like new. There are some too good to be true bargains out there. Now just have to figure out how to stay upright (she's extremely tippy!).
I been bass fishin my whole life but have just recently gotten myself a $300 pelican yak, and i mostly agree with most of your info but i did think that the brush grip anchor would be useful and been thinkin about getting one because i fish some super shallow ponds,it just seemed useful but idk now lol
As other stated I have the assault paddle as well I love it to make small adjustments or when I’m in the rivers to keep me from slamming into rocks or if I drift too close to trees I can use it to push off
Agree with everything but the brush grips. If able to use them there a lot easier and quicker to use than an anchor and in my opinion, holds your kayak in place better.
I use a Rapala fish grip with a short line to anchor around big lilly pads to keep pointed the right way in the wind . One hand operation to release to paddle up to a stuck fish in the pads . Not expensive either
On a river with branches hanging over the water, a brush anchor is great. Much more convenient than a grapple anchor -- easier to deploy, holds better, and never snags. Probably worthless in a lake.
Must be something in the Oheasian water...shorty paddles and brush grippers work great in PA! lol...I fish in an older Jackson KIlroy and hate laying the paddle across my lap. Carry full size for warp speed, break it down to oar-size with a T handle or use the 1-hander for quick repositioning. Brush gripper is my go-to for lakes with flooded saplings; quick and easy.
One-hand paddle is useful for positioning the boat if you don't want to put your rod down. I made mine out of an oar for a kids' inflatable dinghy. Cost: $0.
Why spend more money for a better kayak if you're new at it and not sure if you're going to like kayak fishing ? That was me a few years ago. Got a cheap SOT Destin 10 . Nothing on it. Fished a small lake close to home. I like it. If I didn't I knew I I could sell a $200 boat in a couple of hours vs $1000 one. Don't really go out often so kayak is still very good condition. Will probably buy a better one when this one breaks.
@@wendellfishing BTW, the paddle that they " threw in " was quickly thrown out bc it nearly crippled me on trip #1. Too short and flimsy made me dig in harder than I thought I was and I couldn't even stand up at the end of the outing. Bought a Bending Branches Angler Classic paddle , $120, the following week. Much better.
I purchased a used lifetime hydros kayak for my son. I don't regret buying it, but I'm looking forward to the day that he outgrows it. I use a piece of rope to tie off to kelp, etc...
I fish a lot of timber for crappie and the brush gripper helps a lot to fish multiple trees in a short amount of time. It’s not useful for bass fishing though.
I actually use that brush gripper everytime I crappie fish. Lol they stack up in canals and the land is private property and they charge 26 bucks to park and fish. So I go in and clip to the brush on the bank so the wind don't blow me around because theres probably 50 to 100 people on the bank. I use to use my anchor but it's 3lbs and the brush grip thing did the same thing. The worst thing I bought is that stupid crate that I broke putting together.
D Stor! Apparently you are not the only one who loves the brush gripper... Seems to be the one thing I mentioned that people love! $26 to park and fish is steep and with 50-100 people on the bank.. that's just crazy town.
I use the brush gripper on windy days on one particular lake I fish a lot that has a lot of exposed stumps. Much quicker and easier than using the anker
I agree with everything except the brush grips. The lake that I frequent has a TON of foliage. and is about 30ft deep in places. bass love foliage (cover) so you tend to fish in those areas. I combined my brush grips to my anchor trolley and boom! Now I can spin up to 180 degrees have a great surface area I can cover. versus. dropping what could be up to 30 feet of anchor. No thanks i'll keep my clip n move. great vid tho
@@wendellfishing no worries I’ve creeped many of your videos already. Only went out once yesterday and got blown all over the little lake I was on with 10mph wind. 🤷♀️ Bought a few upgrades and will try again tomorrow. Thanks for the vids 😁
The striker 4 has is the best value in fishing imho. I made my own brush gripper from a spring clamp, the only water I use it on is a tight little river that’s full of lay downs that will eat anchors. It’s got some weird currents and hard to drift and fish. I clamp on in some slack water and it allows me to thoroughly fish the tail out or pool. Beyond that, yeah, useless.
Brush grip, ok you don't have to spend the money I made mine for under 5 bucks. There is a use for it when you are fishing standing timber. I used mine all over Lake Fork.
Mitch, I have been blown over that tool so I have come to the appreciation that many anglers out there have found good use for it. They might even have changed my mind. .... but you are correct.. I can see how you could easily make on for the price of a wood clamp and some paracord. Heck.. that might just be a video in the future.
That brush gripper is a waste. I got some Paracord and cheap carabineers from harbor freight for under $10 for when I need to tie off, and it was enough to make multiple tie offs. I'm with you on the overpriced crates, as well.

Hear me out on the brush grip, I don't often use mine for anchoring but it does help get my lures out of thick tree limbs while also giving me the second point of contact anchoring my kayak to the ground via anchor and the tree via grip.
For all who fish for crappie, the brush gripper can't be beat, during the spawn. Gotta get in the thick stuff to get the big'uns!
Heck yeah brother! It's amazing what a solid lightweight paddle will do! Get Some!
LIKE A BOSS! Love it
gonna have to say ive had my lifetime tamarak for 3 years and ive bashed the hell out of it. hard landing, dragging bottoms, and even mounted a 55lb thrust motor on it. only scratches to show for it.
Right on... Those I believe are $399 and I have heard a lot of great things about them. Glad you are happy with it Cameron!
Same here! Awesome awesome yak
I love my brush grabber. Perfect to hold your position when fishing submerged timber. But I agree with the rest of your items.
Hey Rick, I can appreciate if you have a solid use for it. Good luck out there!
Hey man - that life step saved my life!! I tied it to that attack oar and swung it overhead, sling-style to ward off, this attacking gar!!!
Great video sir !!
Thanks Boss!

Right on Frank! Let me know if I can help
I know I'm gonna piss off some, but the worst investment I've made is on a C-Tug! I hated the straps and how it lined up with my feelfree yak. For the same price, I purchased a Wilderness system and that became the best investment! Saved my aching back!
Yeah.. C-tugs are IMO for yaks under 60lbs and even then. Have you ever seen the Native Sidekicks? They are freakin awesome.
@wendellfishing I was looking into the Boondox landing gear and heard how it can crack your kayak, especially the feelfree brand. I am considering to purchase a native kayak and selling my feelfree...

Glad you mentioned that fish finder. My kayak came in today and I just started looking at fish finders that didn’t break the bank

@@wendellfishing LOL Not today but It's still early..
@@DueSouthFishing :)
Love your videos...keep it up
I can appreciate that you found a good use for it brother. Thanks for reaching out!
I couldn't stop laughing when I saw the crate kit. I like using my brush grip when I am on the river.
GreatlakezGirl. I can see how it would be useful in the river.
Nice List. Lord knows I've seen a number of modifications that just didn't make sense to me.
Thanks Adam. I'm curious what mods you are referring to. Ps. Better not be any of my video mods :)
How about casters being screwed into the bottom of a higher end kayak...like a Bonafide.
That’s a great idea and I’ve never thought of that. Gonna give that a shot.
I use brush gripper all the time for a quick and clean way to prevent drift when structure is nearby.
lol, brush gripped bit was funny.

Hey Brother.. I can appreciate other anglers who find a good use for it. Get Em!
Right on brother! Keep them coming!

I float with a 16ft canoe and do 3-5 day floats in the Ozarks. Solo. The brush grip anchor is ideal for these shallow and narrow rivers that are littered with debris. 550 cord and tied to the carry handle works well for me.

Hey, I can appreciate that. I don’t River fish in my yak but that makes sense.
Homemade brush gripper is handy especially for crappie fishing
Agree with everything but the brush grips. If able to use them there a lot easier and quicker to use than an anchor and in my opinion, holds your kayak in place better.
I use a Rapala fish grip with a short line to anchor around big lilly pads to keep pointed the right way in the wind . One hand operation to release to paddle up to a stuck fish in the pads . Not expensive either
Easy as Sunday morning Andrew!
On a river with branches hanging over the water, a brush anchor is great. Much more convenient than a grapple anchor -- easier to deploy, holds better, and never snags. Probably worthless in a lake.
I would agree with you on that :)
Must be the Oheasian water.. lol.. love it
One-hand paddle is useful for positioning the boat if you don't want to put your rod down.
Also I have a question on what to put on the bottom of my kyak. Is there a spray on guard thing that I can use besides the heat up pad thing that goes on the hull I believe? Correct me if Im wrong.
I enjoy your posts. But I think you should be a comedian. 😆
Ha! Well, I know I make myself laugh.... I'm glad someone else is too.
goddamn camera cuts. tried watching but felt like I was going to have a seizure while you were listing the things you miss out on when you buy a cheap fish finder.
Great feedback Work Account.. I'm always trying to up my editing game and I will take this into consideration.
You scrolled over the Lifetime kayaks to shame? I have a Tamarack Angler and its been a very good yak for the money. Hull is solid and has plenty of options.
right on Nodak
Well now i regret buying my yakcrate 😢
Ha! No regrets brother! You got what you needed!
Ha man this saved my life
:)
hey there is no need for a step you know the strap that u tie your kayak down with yeah those can form a loop by just attaching it to the side handle XD ill never understand why ppl buy those "steps"
Yeah.. I mean.. sooo easy to make one if you really wanted on. Rope.. plus small piece of PVC
I DISAGREE!!!!!
Seriously, I do agree and keep the fun videos coming!
Thanks preserve! Appreciate it.
I’m dying 😂😂
But..... I like the plague
Somewhat entertaining vid, but I thought this would be about products you actually own. Not stuff on a site..
Great idea for a possible next video.. I've got plenty of that stuff too
Tranceducer!?!?
:)
Can you do a review with your arms duct taped?
So confused
@@wendellfishing just joking man. You’re very animated.
@@letsroll03 Ahh.. got it.. I need to do more videos while fishing to tame those guns
@@wendellfishing fishing is remedy to all but don’t change.
Yak attack roto grip….
207, your comment is interesting. I have never laid eyes on the Rotogrip but any other product that I have seen YakAttack put out has been solid. What don't you like about it?
I have em. It's the build quality. The push pins that hold the wheel on work them selves out and the wheel goes bye bye. It I had melt all the ends, so that they won't push out.
bob stop
What is that?
