The one thing I started using this weekend was a anchor. It was such a game changer with dealing with the wind. I will never be on the water without one again
I never thought about tethering the lip grabbers, I had that problem the other day where the fish didn’t want to close its mouth. This would have helped! As always great content!!
I've had my setup (feel free lure 12.5 decked out) and I never thought of a backpack on my seat! You just changed the game for me!!! HUGE Thank You!!!!
@@wendellfishing , I have had bad knees and hips forever , so a pedal drive would not work for me . I still paddle most the time if not using downrigger .
Trolling motor was best thing I ever bought. $125 and a old battery I had laying around. Good times. Also was suprised how useful a paddle holder is! Cheers
Solid recommendations for sure and I’d add (for those that still paddle) is the yak attack track mount paddle clip. It’s offset and also adaptable to accept another accessory. Foremost, apply the K.I.S.S. Sometimes less is more.
Overall for the money this is a very nice beginner fishing kayak. Stable and sturdy. Handles for carrying are placed very well. The seat cushion could use a thicker pad. Overall very nice. The fishing rod holder is a nice added touch.
I have been looking into seat risers for my yak. I think I should pull the trigger on it. I need a Ketch board, too! I absolutely agree with you on the Omega rod holder, in my experience they are superior. I also want the landing gear so bad, but I am afraid of cracking my hull.... Tight lines and Thank you for the great video!
@wendellfishing man the lip clip on a rope is clutch, i saw this video and got one and it made my life a whole lot easier waiting for the photos to upload on the tournament!! I caught a 9lber and i didn't want her to get hurt while waiting soi put her on the gripper because i didnt want to risk loosing the 22 3/4 entry to my tournament. Thanks for the tips, your doing great!!
You should really check out the yak attack cell block with switch blade transducer!! Keeps battery, fishfjnder and transducer on 1 while system easy to remove, and switch my to different kayaks and use it for ice fishing!! Best thing I ever bought for fishing in general
@wendellfishing sweet, it really is an awesome system. I fish michigan lakes, and it works awesome for winter ice fishing as well. I normally would use the same graph as you, the garmin Stryker and just upgraded to the lowrance hook reveal 9, and the one con I will say is, I think the transducer is a little to big for the switchblade transducer arm
Great video, been bass fishing a little over a decade but just got my Native Slayer Max in April! Love it and it came with a Boonedox system which is awesome! I tried a fish finder using the yak attack cell block and 10-amp batt. I started with a Garmin Striker Vivid 7, unfortunately I upgraded to a Lowrance Elite 7! That 3in1 transducer weighs a lot and I didn't enjoy dealing with it, so although it was fun for a minute, I decided I would rather just get on the water and fish. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your content and I'd like to think it's helping me to become a better kayak angler! :)
@@wendellfishing thanks just watched your setup of the slayer and saw the knife. Last month I came within 50 feet of a big black bear as I slipped into a small cove! My first thought was I need to have a gun handy! That thing would have ruined my day!😭

I gotta get a phone tether. Tired of reaching in my pants pocket. I do have a floating phone case tethered to my seat but they get condensation. Thanks
Same situation. I was shopping around for a while and I had it down to two choices and then everything happened and the price of everything single thing almost doubled
Back before I got a kayak (almost ten years ago) I had a fish finder in my canoe and used a 12v drill battery. Or you can get 12v batteries for fence chargers at the feed store. Weigh alot less. And my cart is a 2x4 with lawn mower wheels and a strap. Basically free except for some basic hardware. Dollar tree has those retractable keeper things to keep your pliers and stuff you always wind up dropping.

I never thought I'd be so happy with something as simple as the rogue. That's a lot of peace of mind for not a lot of coin.
Right... for $15 - $20... its a no brainer

The one that was a game changer for me, was putting a magnet tray on one of my rails to hold all my Lewers
Solid Hack! NICE
Um... what's a "Lewer?"
Just bought the Garmin Striker Plus 4 and excited to get out and try it.
Heck yeah man.. gamechanger!
I think my favorite thing I've bought lately has been the rogue. Peace of mind 👌.
For Sure!
Yessir. First thing i ordered for my RA220 was 6" seat risers.
Heck Yeah brother... That's some height difference
Great tips and I can't wait to buy my kayak!!
I would have to say that you put out some awesome kayak and fishing videos!!

What is the preferred way to mount the fishfinder (non-screen portion/transducer)?
For the Garmin Striker 4... This one: geni.us/GarminYakAttackMount
@@wendellfishing Thank you, but I was wondering if you guys are mounting your transducers or putting a hole in the hull for them these days.

Do the native side kicks fit most sit on top fishing kayaks?
Depends if the kayak was designed and structured for them. You also need trackmounts behind your seat

yes, they have GARMIN QUICKDRAW™ CONTOURS SOFTWARE
