tooling cost, plastic resin cost, etc is what is driving the price. As a mold maker, designer and machinist I cant believe the products are priced as reasonable as they are.
I thought the BlackPak Pro was overrated & overpriced until I won 1 in a tournament. After using it I must say it is super nice & well worth buying. It’s not waterproof, but it’s very resistant. I can leave my packed crate on the yak outside through storms and contents stay dry.
I finally took the plunge and picked up a 13x16 blackpak last week. Its so much nicer being able to through smaller items in. I don’t like how often things would get snagged on the openings of milk crate. Both pulling stuff out and on the outside. I don’t use the rod holders that came with the blackpac because I stow my rods horizontally. So there $75 worth of accessory’s that I was forced to purchase to get just the blackpac it self, that I don’t use and probably never will. The only complaint Ive ever heard of about the blackpac is the price. If yakattack were to offer the blackpac à la cart, they clearly could get the price down to sub $100 & sell more I feel. That being said Im going to be getting a second blackpac for my other kayak eventually.
More stuff to get tangled and get in the way. I have two things on a “leash”: my measuring board and my fish grips. Rod floats are even worse. I buy lightweight rods and reels for a reason, why would I add something to it that adds weight and messes up the balance?
My overrated accessory for me is the Yakattack Double header paddle holder. I always have my paddle in my lap. My net handle is too thin , lost one net already in the holder. I need to modify the handle of the net The Yakattack Deluxe trolley is pretty cool but I like drift. Last time the 3lb anchor kept dragging. I would like to have a Anchor wizard anchor but not the system. The Yakattack Black Pack is pretty cool but a luxury. I have a $10 crate with 4 pole holders, 2 4600 cases, 2 4600 double cases, 1 3600 for terminal tackle. All tinted. Its plenty. My 10h battery is in my front compartment. Greatest accessory: Yakattack tow-n-stow bunkster cart Next accessory I'll probably blow money if a pedal kayak will be a Yakattack cell block. All wires, battery, Finder and transducer will be all together. Easy to attach.
I love the Black Pack!! So much you can do with it. It holds all my tackle I need for the day and all my soft Plastics. I am getting the shortstack and it will have all my soft Plastics in it and use the the original bottom for tackle and other things like first aid kid and so much more.
I do like my yakattack stuff! It's quality stuff and USA made! And I'll buy more of it when I'm ready for more accessories! I get them as I see a need for them

No need for a yak attack crate for me. I don’t need the extra pole holders and I have a tackle bag with a water resistant cover built into the bottom I can unzip and cover it with.
To answer your question I use a single power pole and an anchor wizard. I can see where having two power poles can help but in my opinion not on a kayak. Between the power pole and the anchor wizard I can hold any position on any lake in less than 7 feet of water. After that completely reliant on the wizard. Now most of my fishing is on rivers and some of those rivers have heavy current or high boat traffic I feel being anchored in an odd position like you would on a bass boat with two power poles is a disaster waiting to happen in a kayak. Some may disagree with me, for them I say rig for what works for you. This works for me and I am very happy with my set up.
Another you mentioned was the anchor trolley. So before I had my new set up, my old kayak set up had and anchor trolley. I used it with an anchor and a "power pole" pole. reason was to adjust my angle with anchored down. My new set up has a 360 seat so I do not need any more. As for the black pack. I did a milk crate to start and when to the black pack. Honestly not a fan. My crap still gets wet. I have changed my whole set up again and now I keep a Frabrill live well back there. If I am lure fishing, I use it as dry storage. I can carry live bait of course, or I can use it as a cooler. A lot more versatility.
1. The power pole on a kayak is worth its weight in gold. Absolute game changer once you use one for the first time. 2. I don't net most fish when I'm kayaking, but if I'm using any kind of double treble bait, the fish goes into the net first for my safety. Pliers only.

when i fished off the coast of texas in the laguna madre bay, i found myself using the anchor trolley constantly to get the yak in proper position to fish the 'potholes'. I also used a homemade stakeout stick when i was in shallower water and i could hook the trolley up to that as well. having something to keep yourself stationary is great for that area.
Darren, I started with a milk crate, from your vid. Now I bought the wilderness systems crate. It's awesome! I keep my drinks, snacks, my plano boxes, and it's waterproof on the yak. 💯 😎
If you are a paddle kayak the anchor trolley works really well it allows you to position your boat based on the Wind so if you're going to throw an anchor an anchor trolley makes sense
I use my anchor trolley quite a bit in conjunction with my Yak Gear Stakeout Pole. It's super easy to just grab the steak push it through the trolley hole then anchor to the front or the back with just pulling the rope. Obviously this is for shallow water but I also use it in conjunction with my anchor wizard.
Small river fisherman here. My leashes are pieces of rope. Paddle holder. My rod holder is my hand and second rod under my seat between my legs. If I go down, they will be with me. I have two anchors, one on each end. I have a wizard on the front that I really like. I have a rope and and tie down for the back. I think another wizard may be in store. Sooo convenient. Two 3700 boxes under my seat held down with Velcro. Crappy cooler tied in the back. That is more than enough.
The power pole is the first thing I would put on a kayak. Press the button and I am anchored, press the button and I am free. I fish the mangroves a lot in Florida.
Gotta have a good net! If you hook into a big one it may be different between landing & loosing your PB. I use net always for every fish so it's just something I do without thinking. I don't anchor very often but when I do I definitely use the anchor trolley. It lets you position yourself correctly against the current/wind. I use a big rectangle milk crate, I can't bring myself to to spend $ on black pack when my milf crate works perfectly for holding few random items. That I don't care if gets wet. Besides my electronics I keep my Hobie pa12-360 very simple. My electronics, milk create & 1 rod holder, I only carry the tackle & rods I plan on using that day. No motor, no trailer, not extra 10 pounds of tackle I'm not gonna use... I've been kayak fishing just over 10 years now. Every year goes by I simplify my rig more & more, carry only what I need & will actually use that day.
The ONLY benefit of the black pack over making it yourself is price. Maybe convenience as well. They’re very nice don’t get me wrong, but they’re just so expensive. A little TLC into your own DIY setup and you could build something that could make you just as happy. All that being said, if I ever find myself with the cash and nothing to spend it on, I’d definitely buy one 😅
I don't have a peddle drive so I use my anchor trolley alot. It definitley helps to position your boat but I do have to constantly make adjustments with my paddle or using my rod as a paddle.
I’m sure people shake their heads and laugh at me but I’m kayak fishing with one leg and one arm. I’m going to have all the motors and accessories. I don’t care what people think. 😉
for where i live, in colorado, fishing on a smaller lake, with sudden gusts of wind even on the calmest day, being too deep for a power pole, an anchor has helped so much. i did a DIY no-holes required trolley too and it works fantastic. an anchor wizard does seem really overrated though

Whoever said buzbe is overrated has lost their mind. Expensive, yes. But having used most boxes on the market to include the Plano edge there’s no comparison, buzbe is in its own league.
When it comes to the motor, you really have to ask yourself 2 questions. Do you wanna fish? Or do you wanna paddle? If I'm fishing, I'll use an open top kayak with a motor. If I'm paddling, then I'll use a sit in rec kayak and paddle. Different setups for different activities
I'm lucky and got one of the original tan Black Packs for a Christmas present one year. I love that my SS127 has the clips on the bungie that are made for the black pack so it's easy to secure.
I don’t know if I could’ve answered that question. I have a lot of different accessories, but most of them I hardly use. I use them only when necessary. But this year I’ve been going out with a minimalist approach. Basically 3 rods max and a “day box” with a variety of lures I might use that day.
I just did something interesting. I bought a couple light and medium 26 and 28 inch ice fishing rods for kayak crappie. I'm going to test them out tomorrow. I tend to put too much action on a crappie jig with a regular rod, and thought those might be good for better control. I'll let you know.
I only use a trolley from the side handle to the back. Had a full length on my old yak and never used the front half. Holds a fish basket or a tent stake for securing to a creek bank. And yeah, I also use a cheap clamp for brush grips. Never had a crate in the ten years I've had a kayak. ... Have a folding net but never use it. Usually just pick them up or use lip grips. Try to keep it as simple as possible.
I always use a net when fishing in salt water because you never know what's going to bite! Also if I'm keeping a fish in saltwater I like to bleed it in the net because I don't want to be holding it if a shark comes along.
Another item I got rid of, was that milk crate, useless. I have enough space in my kayak for what I really use to carry a lot more weight on the rear which makes navigation even harder.
Getting a YakAttack orange black pak for my birthday so don't have to justify it 😂 will put in my new OT pdl120. Used a milk crate for last 7 years. Time to upgrade.
Blackpac is VERY customizable with yak attacks accessories. I’ve taking it camping and it’s great for keeping things dry and away from sun. 16x16 is what I have and it’s a simple grab and go for all my tackle, fish finder, first aid, food, etc. can be used as a chair too but I know this community tends to lean on the overweight side 😬
I agree with the Yeti comment - so over priced, over rated and over weight. However, the Yeti Sidekick dry bag is actually really great and only $50. I keep one Velcroed to the back of my kayak seat to store my wallet car key fob and wallet. I can open and grab phone or camera with one hand - it’s a really ingenious design.
I have the original blackpak and I love it. I put my battery in it and it still has room for tackle. Originally used a milk crate but it didn't look nice and it doesn't fit my battery so gave it to my bro.

Honestly, I have to agree on the Black Pack has to be the most over rated kayak product there is. for probably 30-35 bucks for 2 Husky large storage crates from Lowe's, 18 bucks for 6 rod holders, 8 bucks for 2 hinges and a hasp, a few bucks for shock cord, a few woods scraps, and you can make something better than a milk crate, but cheaper than a black pack. Yes it is 65-70 dollars, but it is better than a milk crate and the beauty of this is you don't have to do everything at once, you can build it as money allows. If you are wondering, it fits 12 3600 series regular boxes inside, and in the lid I can put my soft plastics, and both boxes for my spinnerbaits and buzz baits.
I owned the same rod holder you say, now I use a single cheap and low profile rod holder that already came with my kayak. I just purchased it because of lack of experience.
I said it on fb. I'll say it here. I'd replace my blackpak pro if it was somehow lost every single time. I only like to dyi if theres no other options, and imo no dyi is better than my bpp.
I'm between the blackpack and the wilderness systems crate! I do like the wilderness systems I think a little better...but I'm also the type that wants to see the product in person and so much stuff is only sold online or stores not even close to me! As of now.im just taking my ugly stick backpack loaded with my gear...it's working for me😂
Interesting discussion. I own a Black Pack and would buy it again. The ease of which you can adapt it is awesome. I was lucky I got a great deal on one when I bought my Old Town. I use leashes so I think they are important. I suppose my thoughts on overrated items are scupper plugs.

Yak attack makes a lot of cool stuff but it’s all very expensive. If you’re gonna pay for yak attack price then it has to be for something that is far and above better than any competitor

Had a egg crate with insert - save up and bought the 13”x16” black pac . Then added the short stack. It has been a great investment. Fits perfectly on my Titan X 12.5. DRY is the word for the day.
I kayak fish in sw florida. I use my anchor, anchor trolly and shallow stick pole all the time. I use the built in rod holders on open water. I use the #yakgadget horizontal rod holder, shallow stick holder, anchor winch. I have a regular milk crate with 2 rod holders mounted and mainly use the crate for rope and extra stuff.
I have a YakAttack Kayak Crate. Love it. The place I live actually monitors milk crate theft regularly so DIYing it wasn't an option for me. I don't think it's overrated, is it a bit overpriced though..? Probably. It's so damn nice though not having your gear get stuck or caught on the milk crate itself. I put a smaller YakAttack box on top of my crate as my first aid kit. Fits perfectly. The damn crate is so modular I love it.

My workplace has made an agreement with Kemps to use Milk crates for product stacking; but in turn they monitor the milk crates a lot more closely to prevent people from stealing them. Kemps found several at a thrift store that were stolen not too long ago here.
Blackpack-$150-no Hobie bait well-$520- no Blackpack turned into bait well with hobie parts-$350-yes!!!!! Baitwell insert can be removed so I can use it either way. Yes it has constantly recirculating water. Stainless steel sheet metal insert with 1/4”starboard top with 10”x14” hatch from an old pro angler, Everything sits inside the Blackpack. With the lid closed you don’t even know it’s there.
I would agree with the black pack pro being overpriced. I use the Magellan 50L waterproof gear box and it stores too much. It probably doesn’t fit most yaks but if you run a Nucanoe Unlimited it fits like a dream. I added rod holders to it and in total with rod holders it was $75 on sale. Keeps everything dry and best of all doubles as an amazing tackle box with rod holders when I fish with friends as on their boats.
I went and bought scupper plugs because the only spot i could get into the water one time was covered with lily pads and when i got into the water i ended up with probably a thousand aphids in my kayak.
Won’t fish treble hook baits without a net and pliers. I consider both safety items at that point. While I don’t think I’ve used it in over 5 years, I always carry an anchor because, again, it’s a safety item just like a paddle. PowerPole, just like an anchor trolley, is very conditional. I’ve been in situations where both were instrumental in catching fish and other situations where both were useless. My thing is rods “designed for kayak fishing”, which usually means a rod with a handle too short to be of much use especially if you’re throwing heavier baits or baits that have some “pull” to them during the retrieve.
I use my anchor trolly when I’m dragging a wind drag chute. I don’t really anchor, but for the chute it works well to keep me at a desired angle when the wind is high
I love my brush gripper. It works well in river fishing clipping onto a tree right infront a hole you want to fish. I get why lake fishers think it's completely point less, but it's the only way to stop your kayak in the river most times to really fish a spot
i love anything yak attack. just cause of the quality. i bought mine for tackle storage. but when i get a motor. it's going to be a battery storage. even though you can diy milk crates and rod holders its just looks trashy too me (no offense if you have one) i want my kayak to look nice as well as proform right. those we're two main things i automatically bought for my kayak. blackpak pro and sidekick wheels.
Power pole is unnecessary on a peddle kayak. I do own one which I use on my paddle kayak, because it's like a leaf floating on the surface of the water. I pair it with a 5 lb kettle bell which I tie off to an anchor cleat to keep myself from pivoting.
Seriously? A bilge pump? I use an old liter plastic coke bottle with the top cut off. And to get the dribbles, use a rag, which doubles as a fish rag. However, after years of yoga twisting to pull the anchor, I'm now liking my new trolley. BTW, not a fan of the kayak anchors out there. A hunk of chain is far superior.
If you fish miles off shore in a Kayak on Lake Michigan God help you. Hopefully you have a decade worth of swimming/treading water in rough waters and a bad ass lifejacket. You still might freeze to death. Good luck.
Great video! My input is the ridiculous price for the Black Pack. Seriously? $180 for a crate. Which leads me to my next overrated items…almost everything that Yak Attack sells. Their HIGH prices make these items overrated. Don’t misunderstand me, their products are well made but the prices are outrageous. Sell them a little cheaper and their sales would probably double. Another overrated product…Wilderness System cart…over $300 for some aluminum tubing and two wheels!! And a kickstand is extra! I have the Vevor cart, with a kickstand, and paid $55 and it’s a quality item. Again, to me, over-priced = over rated.
I promise you this, anyone who talks trash on Yak Attack just hasn't had the good fortune to use it!! I love my Yak Attack stuff!! Keep doing what you do!!
Would I buy another Black Pack Pro? Yes, if they come out with a larger one-for Sure! The one I have (16" by 16") only holds 8 rods, as I don't have any on the front face. As far as a motorized 'Yak is concerned, I have the 180 and the 300 by Newport, on a couple of 'Yaks I use (the old legs kept getting tired after the first couple of miles on the lake, so I "cheat" with a motor now!). Lol Are Yakattack products worth it? Well, I KNOW they are over-priced for what I think ya get, but I've never had anything made by them FAIL, either! (And, they are made here in the U.S.A. - they say!). I've only been 'Yak fishing for about 8 or 9 years, and I tell people to get what suits them at a price they can afford (and don't go "in hock" like I did, outfitting my first fishing 'Yak!). Haha! Seems like nowadays, Everything is Expensive! Get your Money's Worth, when you buy...!
"Rod holder are overrated"...tell me you don't troll with multiple rods without telling me you don't troll with multiple rods. My dude, if on the off chance the person who made that comment sees this, many of us fish multiple baits at the same time so a rod holder is essential.
Using a single rod holder as a place to hold my rod when I'm rigging or dealing with a fish seems to work for me. I can understand not having lots of rod holders.
I'm not saying Yakattack is necessarily overrated but definitely over priced....IMO

Fishing small lakes, the anchor trolley is great. I fish from a paddle kayak. Having an anchor trolley is less troublesome than growing two more arms.

If you are a paddle kayak the anchor trolley works really well it allows you to position your boat based on the Wind so if you're going to throw an anchor an anchor trolley makes sense
I use my anchor trolley quite a bit in conjunction with my Yak Gear Stakeout Pole. It's super easy to just grab the steak push it through the trolley hole then anchor to the front or the back with just pulling the rope. Obviously this is for shallow water but I also use it in conjunction with my anchor wizard.

My rod holder is my hand and second rod under my seat between my legs. If I go down, they will be with me.
I have two anchors, one on each end. I have a wizard on the front that I really like. I have a rope and and tie down for the back. I think another wizard may be in store. Sooo convenient.
Two 3700 boxes under my seat held down with Velcro. Crappy cooler tied in the back.

The power pole is the first thing I would put on a kayak. Press the button and I am anchored, press the button and I am free. I fish the mangroves a lot in Florida.
Gotta have a good net! If you hook into a big one it may be different between landing & loosing your PB. I use net always for every fish so it's just something I do without thinking. I don't anchor very often but when I do I definitely use the anchor trolley. It lets you position yourself correctly against the current/wind. I use a big rectangle milk crate, I can't bring myself to to spend $ on black pack when my milf crate works perfectly for holding few random items. That I don't care if gets wet. Besides my electronics I keep my Hobie pa12-360 very simple. My electronics, milk create & 1 rod holder, I only carry the tackle & rods I plan on using that day. No motor, no trailer, not extra 10 pounds of tackle I'm not gonna use... I've been kayak fishing just over 10 years now. Every year goes by I simplify my rig more & more, carry only what I need & will actually use that day.

The ONLY benefit of the black pack over making it yourself is price. Maybe convenience as well. They’re very nice don’t get me wrong, but they’re just so expensive. A little TLC into your own DIY setup and you could build something that could make you just as happy. All that being said, if I ever find myself with the cash and nothing to spend it on, I’d definitely buy one 😅

i use my anchor trolley a lot. i often fish in a shallow river. with the trolley i can aim myself up or down stream depending on what i want

I don't have a peddle drive so I use my anchor trolley alot. It definitley helps to position your boat but I do have to constantly make adjustments with my paddle or using my rod as a paddle.
I have a full line-up of Buzbee boxes and and Quik-Cubes and I absolutely love em!
I’m sure people shake their heads and laugh at me but I’m kayak fishing with one leg and one arm. I’m going to have all the motors and accessories. I don’t care what people think. 😉

for where i live, in colorado, fishing on a smaller lake, with sudden gusts of wind even on the calmest day, being too deep for a power pole, an anchor has helped so much. i did a DIY no-holes required trolley too and it works fantastic. an anchor wizard does seem really overrated though

When it comes to the motor, you really have to ask yourself 2 questions. Do you wanna fish? Or do you wanna paddle? If I'm fishing, I'll use an open top kayak with a motor. If I'm paddling, then I'll use a sit in rec kayak and paddle. Different setups for different activities
I'm lucky and got one of the original tan Black Packs for a Christmas present one year. I love that my SS127 has the clips on the bungie that are made for the black pack so it's easy to secure.
I don’t know if I could’ve answered that question. I have a lot of different accessories, but most of them I hardly use. I use them only when necessary. But this year I’ve been going out with a minimalist approach. Basically 3 rods max and a “day box” with a variety of lures I might use that day.
Anchor and Anchor trolley are a must for river fishing. I want a anchor wizard for the same reason.

I just did something interesting. I bought a couple light and medium 26 and 28 inch ice fishing rods for kayak crappie. I'm going to test them out tomorrow. I tend to put too much action on a crappie jig with a regular rod, and thought those might be good for better control. I'll let you know.

I only use a trolley from the side handle to the back. Had a full length on my old yak and never used the front half. Holds a fish basket or a tent stake for securing to a creek bank. And yeah, I also use a cheap clamp for brush grips. Never had a crate in the ten years I've had a kayak. ... Have a folding net but never use it. Usually just pick them up or use lip grips. Try to keep it as simple as possible.
I use my anchor trolly, but it’s kinda like the power pole. You need two to actually keep you in place.
And I used anchor trolley every time out on my OT Predator 13. Fish tidal creeks in FL. Putting one on my Sportsman pdl120 tomorrow
I haven't used an anchor or powerpole yet. I leash almost everything in my kayack.
I always use a net when fishing in salt water because you never know what's going to bite! Also if I'm keeping a fish in saltwater I like to bleed it in the net because I don't want to be holding it if a shark comes along.
Another item I got rid of, was that milk crate, useless. I have enough space in my kayak for what I really use to carry a lot more weight on the rear which makes navigation even harder.

Getting a YakAttack orange black pak for my birthday so don't have to justify it 😂 will put in my new OT pdl120. Used a milk crate for last 7 years. Time to upgrade.
Blackpac is VERY customizable with yak attacks accessories. I’ve taking it camping and it’s great for keeping things dry and away from sun. 16x16 is what I have and it’s a simple grab and go for all my tackle, fish finder, first aid, food, etc. can be used as a chair too but I know this community tends to lean on the overweight side 😬

I agree with the Yeti comment - so over priced, over rated and over weight. However, the Yeti Sidekick dry bag is actually really great and only $50. I keep one Velcroed to the back of my kayak seat to store my wallet car key fob and wallet. I can open and grab phone or camera with one hand - it’s a really ingenious design.

I have the original blackpak and I love it. I put my battery in it and it still has room for tackle. Originally used a milk crate but it didn't look nice and it doesn't fit my battery so gave it to my bro.

Honestly, I have to agree on the Black Pack has to be the most over rated kayak product there is. for probably 30-35 bucks for 2 Husky large storage crates from Lowe's, 18 bucks for 6 rod holders, 8 bucks for 2 hinges and a hasp, a few bucks for shock cord, a few woods scraps, and you can make something better than a milk crate, but cheaper than a black pack. Yes it is 65-70 dollars, but it is better than a milk crate and the beauty of this is you don't have to do everything at once, you can build it as money allows. If you are wondering, it fits 12 3600 series regular boxes inside, and in the lid I can put my soft plastics, and both boxes for my spinnerbaits and buzz baits.

I owned the same rod holder you say, now I use a single cheap and low profile rod holder that already came with my kayak. I just purchased it because of lack of experience.
I said it on fb. I'll say it here. I'd replace my blackpak pro if it was somehow lost every single time. I only like to dyi if theres no other options, and imo no dyi is better than my bpp.

I use anchor and tried an anchor wizard, later I dismissed it. Simple rope rolled into a stick was enough and easier.
I'm between the blackpack and the wilderness systems crate! I do like the wilderness systems I think a little better...but I'm also the type that wants to see the product in person and so much stuff is only sold online or stores not even close to me! As of now.im just taking my ugly stick backpack loaded with my gear...it's working for me😂

Interesting discussion. I own a Black Pack and would buy it again. The ease of which you can adapt it is awesome. I was lucky I got a great deal on one when I bought my Old Town. I use leashes so I think they are important. I suppose my thoughts on overrated items are scupper plugs.

Yak attack makes a lot of cool stuff but it’s all very expensive. If you’re gonna pay for yak attack price then it has to be for something that is far and above better than any competitor

Had a egg crate with insert - save up and bought the 13”x16” black pac . Then added the short stack. It has been a great investment. Fits perfectly on my Titan X 12.5. DRY is the word for the day.

I kayak fish in sw florida. I use my anchor, anchor trolly and shallow stick pole all the time. I use the built in rod holders on open water. I use the #yakgadget horizontal rod holder, shallow stick holder, anchor winch. I have a regular milk crate with 2 rod holders mounted and mainly use the crate for rope and extra stuff.

I have a YakAttack Kayak Crate. Love it. The place I live actually monitors milk crate theft regularly so DIYing it wasn't an option for me. I don't think it's overrated, is it a bit overpriced though..? Probably. It's so damn nice though not having your gear get stuck or caught on the milk crate itself. I put a smaller YakAttack box on top of my crate as my first aid kit. Fits perfectly. The damn crate is so modular I love it.

@@wendellfishing Wisconsin; it is partly because of the place I work at using the crates for product. My workplace has made an agreement with Kemps to use Milk crates for product stacking; but in turn they monitor the milk crates a lot more closely to prevent people from stealing them. Kemps found several at a thrift store that were stolen not too long ago here.

I would agree with the black pack pro being overpriced. I use the Magellan 50L waterproof gear box and it stores too much. It probably doesn’t fit most yaks but if you run a Nucanoe Unlimited it fits like a dream. I added rod holders to it and in total with rod holders it was $75 on sale. Keeps everything dry and best of all doubles as an amazing tackle box with rod holders when I fish with friends as on their boats.

I went and bought scupper plugs because the only spot i could get into the water one time was covered with lily pads and when i got into the water i ended up with probably a thousand aphids in my kayak.

Won’t fish treble hook baits without a net and pliers. I consider both safety items at that point. While I don’t think I’ve used it in over 5 years, I always carry an anchor because, again, it’s a safety item just like a paddle. PowerPole, just like an anchor trolley, is very conditional. I’ve been in situations where both were instrumental in catching fish and other situations where both were useless.
My thing is rods “designed for kayak fishing”, which usually means a rod with a handle too short to be of much use especially if you’re throwing heavier baits or baits that have some “pull” to them during the retrieve.

I have a BlackPak Pro with the ShortStak. 13x16. I like it.
I use my anchor trolly when I’m dragging a wind drag chute. I don’t really anchor, but for the chute it works well to keep me at a desired angle when the wind is high

I love my brush gripper. It works well in river fishing clipping onto a tree right infront a hole you want to fish. I get why lake fishers think it's completely point less, but it's the only way to stop your kayak in the river most times to really fish a spot

i love anything yak attack. just cause of the quality. i bought mine for tackle storage. but when i get a motor. it's going to be a battery storage. even though you can diy milk crates and rod holders its just looks trashy too me (no offense if you have one) i want my kayak to look nice as well as proform right. those we're two main things i automatically bought for my kayak. blackpak pro and sidekick wheels.

Power pole is unnecessary on a peddle kayak. I do own one which I use on my paddle kayak, because it's like a leaf floating on the surface of the water. I pair it with a 5 lb kettle bell which I tie off to an anchor cleat to keep myself from pivoting.

Seriously? A bilge pump? I use an old liter plastic coke bottle with the top cut off. And to get the dribbles, use a rag, which doubles as a fish rag. However, after years of yoga twisting to pull the anchor, I'm now liking my new trolley. BTW, not a fan of the kayak anchors out there. A hunk of chain is far superior.
I don't understand why the kayak motors are so expensive. They cost as much as a brand new Makita or Bosch jackhammer which just feels insane to me.

A milk crate does not work on my kayak. I converted a 5 gallon pale. Holds 3 poles and works as a live well.

Great video! My input is the ridiculous price for the Black Pack. Seriously? $180 for a crate. Which leads me to my next overrated items…almost everything that Yak Attack sells. Their HIGH prices make these items overrated. Don’t misunderstand me, their products are well made but the prices are outrageous. Sell them a little cheaper and their sales would probably double.
Another overrated product…Wilderness System cart…over $300 for some aluminum tubing and two wheels!! And a kickstand is extra! I have the Vevor cart, with a kickstand, and paid $55 and it’s a quality item. Again, to me, over-priced = over rated.

Would I buy another Black Pack Pro? Yes, if they come out with a larger one-for Sure! The one I have (16" by 16") only holds 8 rods, as I don't have any on the front face.
As far as a motorized 'Yak is concerned, I have the 180 and the 300 by Newport, on a couple of 'Yaks I use (the old legs kept getting tired after the first couple of miles on the lake, so I "cheat" with a motor now!). Lol
Are Yakattack products worth it? Well, I KNOW they are over-priced for what I think ya get, but I've never had anything made by them FAIL, either! (And, they are made here in the U.S.A. - they say!).
I've only been 'Yak fishing for about 8 or 9 years, and I tell people to get what suits them at a price they can afford (and don't go "in hock" like I did, outfitting my first fishing 'Yak!). Haha! Seems like nowadays, Everything is Expensive! Get your Money's Worth, when you buy...!

"Rod holder are overrated"...tell me you don't troll with multiple rods without telling me you don't troll with multiple rods. My dude, if on the off chance the person who made that comment sees this, many of us fish multiple baits at the same time so a rod holder is essential.
Using a single rod holder as a place to hold my rod when I'm rigging or dealing with a fish seems to work for me. I can understand not having lots of rod holders.
