Believe it or not, this is my first 8 of the month. All other scores were at least one point higher or lower.
I actually figured out the purple (“parts of eyeglasses”), but not until after accepting the time bonus. If I counted it instead of the time bonus it would be the same score. It would just be completely illegitimate to count both. Anyway, this way I got the satisfaction of solving the whole thing and still guaranteed myself 8 points.
How is “temple” a part of eyeglasses? I’ve been wearing glasses for decades, and I’ve never heard of a part of glasses being referred to by the word “temple”.

Most of the time was spent on sorting out LAGOON and CROCODILE. Maybe if I had gotten one more hour of sleep, I could have gotten this one done in less than a minute.

Remo thinks all the the words (except the spangram) have to be regular English words. And non-spangrams can only be one word.
@@chinareds54 Right, I forgot that.
Darling is Wendy, John, and Michael's last name.
@@MelanieNLee Yes it is a surname in the UK . Grace Darling rowed with her father to rescue the shipwrecked mariners off the Farne Islands in the extreme NE of England. The late Alastair Darling ( b 1950) was an extreme left winger who became a much more moderate Chancellor of the Exchequer in the UK and got landed with saving several banks in the 2008 crash. His grandfather had been a Conservative Provost (= mayor ) of Edinburgh.
