@@ProtomanButCallMeBlues They were riding buddies and they were close enough to where Jericho would call Tomko and ask if he knew why Chris would have done such a thing. Jericho said in his book that after he heard what Chris did, he called Tomko and Scott Armstrong because he knew they were close to Chris but they were just as flabbergasted as anyone about it.
I've noticed that a lot of wrestlers who were heels for most of their careers tend to be the kindest people in the wrestling business IRL(Rick Rude, Owen Hart, Chris Masters, William Regal, Tyson Tomko).
Tomko seems to have beaten his demons. Great guy and they dropped the ball on him turning face in TNA, when he was getting popular. Someone must have been jealous.
I remember the Eddie Guerrero tribute show on Raw. Just from the outside looking in, you could see how Eddie’s passing broke Chris, both during the 10 bell salute and during his pre taped interview saying goodbye to Eddie. The Dark Side of the Ring episode really did a good job showing how Eddie’s passing had a horrible impact on Chris. I think it was just an unfortunate combination of CTE and depressive psychosis. Hearing Vickie talk about how Chris was in her home after his passing was heartbreaking to hear as a fan. Glad to see Tyson Tomko doing so well. Looks much different than he did during his WWE and TNA days, and he seems like a great guy.
Wow. It's been a long time since I've seen Tomko. Good to see him again after all of these years. And the fact that he and Chris were friends blew my mind.
I wish that we lived in a timeline where Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero are still alive today. They've retired from wrestling, they're both in the WWE HOF, & more importantly, they're head trainers in the performance center giving advice to all the young guys & girls who are competing in NXT. That would've been so sick in so many ways.
I love when he talks about them driving and Chris hitting a barrel. It's a shame. Wish it hadn't happened and I also agree if Eddie had been around things may have turned out differently. It's nice to hear the stories on the road since Chris was such a reserved and quiet guy. Tomko handled the topic well.
I met Tomko while he was TNA tag champions with AJ Styles when i was a kid....ngl bro was kinda short and aggravated with me but now i know at that time he was probably going through a lot of things. It was still cool to meet him tho
I think with Chris and I don't know about Eddie but it always seemed to me like Chris had Eddie as a soul mate as a best friend and once Eddie was gone apart of Chris was gone
Chris got into a domestic In front of eddie and Vicki. He broke the windshield to his car and had stopped when eddie and Vicki approached them. Check out Chris benoits darkside kf the ring
3:07 They did scan his brain and it was damaged all across the board from untreated concussions. Who knows why he did what he did, it's tragic and awful
Nothing will ever convince that Chris killed his family. I just dont buy it and never have since it happened. (i was literally a little kid and the whole story felt weird to me even back than.)
I understand you like the guys work and career but its time to accept reality. Kevin Sullivan was supportive of Chris and Nancys relationship. He put the fuckin belt on him ffs. He might have been a good wrestler but he went out in a bad way and did some deplorable and unforgivable shit.
People are always looking for a single answer but I suspect it's the combination of everything. Eddie died, CTE, unhealthy marriage, friends like Angle left WWE, Vince and others neglected the issues, he was getting older and his career stalled, and may have been simply a bad person at heart. WWE got way too defensive when the news broke, for my liking.
It probably would've happened even if Eddie lived. Chris suffered from CTE, drug abuse, roids and alcohol abuse. Nancys sister said that she was also popping pills and drinking. I don't think his career slowing down or really anything connected with WWE played a big role in what happened.
what did you ask him. Nobody seems to ask him directly about him mentioning calling Chris and someone knocking at his door . I heard that was rumor or true but nobody can get it straight.
@filmaker256 idk too mannn.... but I definitely remember shortly after the incident had occurred, Chavo's name and phone calls with Benoit spread like wildlife. I even saw the supposed last messages & phone calls were uploaded on RUclips back in 07' are gone! but I never bother clicking & listening to them. I just wanted to see other conspiracies surrounding the incident.
chris jericho said it best on DSoTR benoit didnt handle eddies death in a good way & that when eddie died chris benoit died as well by shutting everyone out. looking back now you can see the change in benoit by watching him on tv can only imagine what everyone else saw that were there w/ him. he did have guys like chavo & johnny grunge (who died rt before benoit did what he did) but neither of them were eddie.
I've always thought with Eddie and chris of it wasn't a different sort of relationship they had to put it nicely. After watching Dark side of the ring both parts with my wife who has a PhD in sexual therapy and marriage counselling she said the same thing.
Im kinda wondering how this guy did not know they did a brain scan of Chris the medical examiner findings that his brain looked like. 85 yearold with Alzheimer’s on the way to the grave
Difference being that there's no evidence implicating Kevin. If you ask me, Kevin intentionally booked his divorce by making Chris and Nancy inseparable.
Good to see Tomko again. I had no idea he was close friends with Benoit.
It wasn't necessarily that their friendship was that close but that Beniot couldn't handle trauma correctly because of the CTE.

With the glasses and the beard, Tomko has embraced the older Batista look.
I thought he looked like Brodie King lol

Chris really was never the same after eddie died.
Nice to Tomko is doing well nowadays. Loved him in WWE, New Japan and TNA.
Sure. No diss to tomorrow. I love/miss tomorrow said nobody.
He owns his own gym and investment company
Tomko speaks very well on this topic. Good to see him doing well.

I remember watching SmackDown after Eddie's death, Benoit looked soulless and without emotion at times

Great interview boys, interview idea sharkboy, icp, monty brown.
I was at the show in Minneapolis the day Eddie died. Heard the news on the train heading to the arena and will never forget that night.
Rip chris benoit and eddie Guerrero
Benoit is the 🐐 Eddie was almost as good
One of my favorite wrestlers from back in the day. Looks like Tyson is doing good!
So what Tyson is saying is in hindsight there might have been red flags with Benoit.
Vince was negligent and benoit is proof
Didn’t know Tomko was close with Benoit.Glad Tomko is doing well.
Montreal. Vancouver. And me in Winnipeg.
Coast to almost coast.

Good job boys.
Tomko summed it up excellently. Well done.

Holy shit id love to hear that robbery story from Tyson Tomko
Seems like a great guy. He from jacksonville maybe ill run into him one day
Rip Chris
That barrel story was a nice little icebreaker, after talking about double murder-suicide.
Lol.
Wow. That looks nothing like the Tyson Tomko character. Not in a bad way at all, it just doesn’t even face his old face anymore.
