I was looking for a review of this game on YT cause I wanna see if people appreciate it AS IT IS rather than just judging it cause "there's too many dungeons" in a dungeon crawling game LOL xD
I've had this recommended to me for WEEKS, but I was never really interested in the game so didn't pay much attention to it. I decided to finally check it out cause I'm looking for games for the holiday season.
Finally got around to reading this, thank you for the responses! Funny to see that you all found this through a different way pretty much. I really don't get how this platform works😅
Purple Kecleon isn't a shiny Kecleon. It's just a purple Kecleon. Kecleon's shiny looks different, but I wish it had the color of the one from this game

While I disagree with you on the point of X-ray specs being broken, I agree that it was a bad move to give the player their effect by default in story dungeons
@@frosttheweavile461 Totally understandable. I personally didnt mind it, and even if it was a negative point, the game is still so enjoyable. There´s people who said that this remake is bad only because of that.
I hated the absurd decision to remove the A button attack, but then i realized just how common max ethers are in dungeons. I find more of them than anything else, even apples and oran berries and money.
I’m getting back into mystery dungeon dx and I immediately went to my childhood methods of conserving boomerangs and flamethrowers with a shitload of Oran and reviver seeds That leave half ability makes inventory management much more smooth.
This is a very common complaint I see about this game tbh, and yea 100% if you just play the game for a few hours you realize the lack of the A button attack is really not a big deal at all. PP is extremely easy to maintain in this game between the hilarious amount of Ethers and Elixers they throw at you, as well as some of the Rare Qualities which essentially allow you to have infinite PP. You'd probably only use the A button attack like 1% of the time if it still existed.
I think people are quick to hate on this as it’s A, a remake and B, their judging it on a demo which doesn’t show the game’s potential. This has the be one of the best remakes I’ve ever played as the original was still great but had quite a lot of problems, all of which were fixed. Plus the artstyle speaks for itself
I agree 100% on all your points. They really took all the feedback and fixed what had to be fixed. I literally played the originals a few weeks before it came out and it felt like a new and much improved experience. Mad props to the devs
Hey if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I’m just glad most remained untouched and only added QOL changes and other minor things. It’s the small things that add up
The demo make it look bad. It should have end just before the dungeon where you had to rescue Shiftry from Zapdos. Just leaving where you had to rescue Metapod made it feel too short, and you have so little attachement to the characters to care about. In my opinion while the game improve a lot of the things from the old games there also add some features that I found jarring, like for example how every Pokémon can evolve in the same way rather than needing to have specific requirement like in the main and past games, for example If you want to evolve a Pikachu into a Raichu now you don't need a Thunder Stone for that matter, now you can do it by a certain item for every species. Isn't the different ways of evolution the appeal of the series? Also I don't like the art style, I know is meant to look like a child's book but the random lines there have turns me off, it feels cheap.
I somehow missed that this game even got released, saw it on Amazon, purchased it, didn't touch it for an year, then started like the very first part of the game, didn't touch it for an year, and now I'm only left having to recruit Celebi within 2 weeks of playing it non stop after my work days lol.
I'm glad I could contribute anything to your video. I agreed with pretty much all of your points aside from the mention of multiple traps in a row because I got hit with that very recently and I don't want to go through that again in a 99 floor dungeon. This game is a vast improvement over the originals and I hope it and your video will act as a gateway for some into the Pokemon side games which normally get pushed to a side because they aren't the main series eventhough they have better plot and more reason to be attached to them. Excellent job and great video :D Thank you for crediting me and I look forward to your future content!
Yeah the trap thing is just a matter of preference in my opinion. I like raging over a videogame for dumb reasons like these traps, but I can understand them being a nuisance in i.e. buried relic and stuff. I 100% agree, this game fixed many issues I had with the originals and I have never really understood why the main games sell more than these. Guess too many people still don't know this spinoff exists. I prefer PMD over the main games any day of the week. I can't say this enough, but thanks for being so chill about using your footage. Much love :)
Thank you so much for this video! I have played the old games and wanted to know if the remake is worth my hard earned money. This was for sure the only review that told me everything I wanted to know. Very nice work!
I hope Explorers of Sky gets a remake. Orrrr release a new PMD game with as much impact as Explorers of Sky. Bruh the story went really deep in my heart and stimulated my imagination when I first played it. I think some people don't handle feels well but to me, I'm glad I experienced such feels. Aaaanyways, all I can say about DX is that as a Switch game (from gameboy/DS), it's a wonderful upgrade (despite the losses). There is always room for improvement graphics-wise but hey, they captured the original's essence mostly. Even legendary battles (post game) may give you the surprise challenge once they whip out an Origin Pulse to-wipe-out-90%-of-your-team, IF you're not prepared at least. Y'know, the auto mode is handy in the Makuhita Dojo. Ehhh... I just hope these games are perfected further and not insist on new features (or missing ones) that are frowned upon by many. A balance is always needed.... hmm... what if they add an age question feature so that the settings for "hand-holding" will be adjusted depending on it? Dunno. I'll be quiet now haha =_=
Thanks for the in depth review! I haven't been able to afford the game until now and I'm glad I've waited for the price to go down haha The most exciting thing for me is that it will be easier to use new and different pokemon. In the original, which is my absolute fave PMD game, it was very hard for me to use a Pokémon I liked that wasn't a starter, partner or legendary. But I think in this game with the dojo tickets I can really make a dream team with whoever I want!
The "favorite" mechanic in the friend areas just keeps that pokemon at the top of the list for that friend area. Normally it sorts in pokedex order, but "favorites" bypass that to stay at the top of the list. Can be sort-of useful if you have some friend areas full of pokemon, and also frequently-used teammates somewhere in the list. Digging through that list can get annoying.
Great video overall and I've been looking for something like this since the game came out. The controls aren't the best, but you can use the right shoulder button to mitigate a lot of the inaccuracy, which does remind me of the originals that relied on a Dpad instead of a control stick. Not the best work around, but it does make this game surprisingly resistant to Joycon drift when in handheld mode. One thing you forgot to mention is that Paralysis has been changed to allow you to move, but not use moves and it lasts way longer. Finally, the one really weird thing about the team maker templates in this game is that you can't set items to a Pokémon permanently like you can in Super Mystery Dungeon really discouraging you from making lots of teams though the ability to check your inventory before entering a dungeon mitigates this somewhat
I’ve picked up the game again after a good few years of not playing, my God is it worth is lol I’m up to Ho-oh and Lugia and jirachci rn. I forgot how fun this game was.
Hey, man. I totally forgot about the release of this game despite checking footage every now and then prior to it coming out. I had been doing the same thing for the last few days, contemplating whether to buy it or not. What actually made me uncertain about it was precisely what you critized at the beginning: everyone rushed their content about the game and most of them are people who have never played mystery dungeon games before, or those who have, did little to no effort at all elaborating on the differences from previous games and how things have changed in comparison with the originals. I want you to know that this video was exactly what I needed to make up my mind and I just ordered the game. Thanks a lot for the insight and all the spot on comments about the aspects you deemed most appropriate. Keep up the good work!
You're welcome man. Really cool to read that my comprehensive review actually helped someone out. Didn't think I'd ever be able to do so. Hope the game doesnt disappoint, then I am the one to blame😭😭
Did you know you can turn on floor tiles in the settings so you can see Pokémon sizes, avoid colliding with walls, etc. you can also turn off the map. Other than that, I completely agree with this review. This game just made the right improvements to the old without those improvements feeling cheap. Sure, I missed being able to use the universal tackle (a button). But the features that replaced it really make up for it, and give us that breath of fresh air. DX made me fall in love with Mystery dungeon all over again, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I personally love the x-ray specs, yet even I was annoyed about having it in the beginning. I felt like it was more like an item you should be able to get mid-game rather than at the very start. I turned off my mini map because of this. Not gonna turn it back on until, I dunno, maybe my team is either close to fainting or I actually pick up the item in-game. Honestly though, I think I’ll stick with my other pmd games. Too bad I only have the original red and super pmd. :T
Why you'd want to play the original red over this game boggles my mind tbh. If you take off your rose tinted glasses it's just a clunkier version of this game in almost every way. The fact you cant play as anyone else but your main character for the entire game in the originals is single handedly the worst part about those games and the best thing they changed in this game. Also how your recruits gain levels without needing to be taken into dungeons so you can swap out your team members whenever you want without needing to grind for 3 hours each time is incredible.
@@Forged4War206 Look, I played the remake and got bored. I also always include my main character anyway unless the dungeon specifically tells me I can only take one Pokémon. Also it’s MYSTERY dungeon, not KNOW WHERE EVERYTHING IS WITHOUT PROPER EXPLORATION dungeon. And if I want to spend hours on a game, that’s my business. I am fine with the grind.
I love this remake so much. After Gates to Infinity and Super, my faith in the series was at an all time low. This brought me back. Only thing I dislike is how regular attacks are gone, and autosave can't be turned off. Other than that, it's really really good. This shows Mystery Dungeon isn't dead yet!
Honestly I'm not huge on the remake. It is arguably better, but there's something about how the movement of the original feels that really brings me to play it. The remake just doesn't feel the same so I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. Good thing I was just borrowing my brothers copy.
In the end objective side-by-side comparisons don't really matter, it's all a matter of preference. I thought I was going to be disappointed since the originals are pure nostalgia for me, but I ended up putting over a 100 hours in and i'll likely start a recruit-em-all soon enough. Funny how perceptions can differ so much
I love mystery dungeon dx, really. But you know what problem I have with it? The damn shinies. Why are there 2 separate Dungeons, where 2 "unique" boss shinies are both from the same line (eg Hoothoot & noctowl, exeggutor & exeggcute? 1 dungeon could've had the noctowl, the other dungeon could've had a whole new shiny 😤😭 Whoooo thought that was a great idea? Smfh.
I haven't played pmd dx yet because I'm too broke for a switch. But I do hear 1 change that Bugged tons of peps out. Auto-Save. I don't mind this change at all. Makes you think twice before going in the Dungeon and making Escape orbs have a Better use. (Unlike soft resetting)
People were mad about that????? If you dislike auto-save, you just intended to save scum your way through a videogame, which is pretty pathetic on itself😂
Not gonna lie, Escape Orbs not being completely worthless is an idea I can get behind (even if I would nornally just savescum 80% of the time anyways.)
@@little_finger I got the game when it first came out. The map got annoying at times so I just turned it off. The updates came later. I did jinx the game by never really doing the storyline all the way through, I was still leveling up my team when the new Pokemon games came out. I got my starters to level 100, but most of the other pokemon I only got to levels 50-55 before I accidentally deleted my saved data while trying to do a glitch that lets you make sure you get the rare quality you want. My autocorrect has been triggered several times during this text. I'm stopping before it autocorrect something I don't want it to.
Great video! Might consider giving this game another try after being disappointed with it when it first came out. I also appreciate the Packy outro too! He's one of my favorite rappers and I don't know many people that listen to his music
It truly is a game I enjoyed playing, but I do understand nostalgia for the originals ruining the experience for some🤷♂️ Def a game worth giving another shot! Also first time someone actually recognized the outro music, Packy is very niche indeed😂 Shame he stopped releasing music a year or 2 ago. Miss his stuff😪
New to the channel, got recommended on my main page. I love mystery dungeon! Minor criticisms: it feels pretty bad that at certain points talking about moves/mechanics you don't take a second to go to serebii and actually look at the real info. Also never had any issue targeting larger pokemon. Sad to see very little mention of the very hard post game dungeons (not even talking about purity forest etc, just all the extra dungeons, like darkness ridge and shit, that had been re-worked to have really useful rewards. No mention of the insanely annoying way you had to get legendaries in the og games, which was by resetting over and over until you got lucky (as you could not repeat any of the fights if you won) I also would have highlighted that raising even one "third" pokemon on your team in the old games was almost impossible, as they would never truly catch up unless you spent hours in the dojo, and how much they've improved that aspect. Anyway loved the vid!! good luck with the rapidly growing channel!
Really liked your review! Definitely the only one I need to watch 😂 because you really go in depth! Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the only thing you might not have mentioned was the auto button.
I think there shouldnt be a separate chest inventory thats part of the risk versus reward. Same thing goes for the xray specs you can use that or a buffing item, it's not like theirs multiple held item slots
Don’t suck at the easy game. Simple. Especially when it’s only on for STORY missions, the hardest part of them is always the boss fight. This is even worse than forced xp share. Xray specs is too broken.
I will never understand the point ppl make when they complain about qol improvement which makes Pokémon game easier. As if the game is ever difficult to begin with pfttt
Not being able to explore friend areas is unforgivable.. Plus I ALWAYS play my switch games Docked.. So yeah I beat the main story and was like ",Well this was mediocre Imma go back to Explorers of Sky"
I get you, but you cant compare it to battle frontier. Yea they were nice, but it got annoying to travel there every single time. I personally enjoy the new areas, its more qol similar to time/darkness.
X-Rays game always exist even in Shiren games but I agree that making it standard feature in story mode is dumb. Other than that the item is fine, since post game dungeon will make you use multiple equipment anyway, well unless you only want to see enemy location and not countering poison effect with pecha scarf and brute forcing everything lmao
Perma X-Ray specs in Story is arguable but the item is something I appreciate because without them it happens so often that my clients get backkilled which is just annoying. About the input lag I'm confused because for me it's very responsive and I never encountered the issues you had. Also I know I am very early to the party.
the title just looked interesting so i clicked it i'm so Happy they made a remake of this game there is 1 item in the Original that i kept Losing GOGGLE SPECS every time i'd would lose it due getting taken out i'd have to put in a code to go to tiny woods to get the goggle specs again but in this game the Goggle specs are all over in dungeons...A++ i can see the traps & get thru the dungeon faster at the same time as well in Red & blue rescue when you had a Pick up pokemon such as Zigzagoon the item would show when you looked at the pokemon thru they're summary. in this game the item they picked up is already in you're bag even if you have on a item such as a weather band as well clear the dungeon map instead of the leader pokemon doing it. I like the improvements they made in this game the monster houses & big pokemon don't bother me because i don't use them they get in my way.
I loved the video, however my only hot take on this was that it isnt actually a shiny kecleon. Shiny kecleon only has a blue stripe instead of a red stipe over the belly. I only realized this recently when my fiance and i were talking about kecleons non existence in pokemon go.
One of the best revieuws ever on a game. But one thing I definitely had added was shiny hunting its so much fune my team is sich now with the shiny’s i got shiny dragonite, shiny gyarados, and shiny espeon. Such a great game 👍
My biggest problem is how stupid this game's AI is. If you change tactics to Follow Me the other Pokemon dont help you, if you change it to Let's Go Together they always get behind and throw themselves to death. They're always getting out of their way to grab items and leaving you. Not to mention wasting ranged moves when the enemy Pokemon is literally in front of it. The original wasn't like that.
You didn't bring up the "auto play" they added. And personally, I didn't like the universal experience share. I get that it's beneficial for trying to level up unused pokemon, but I found it way to powerful as I had mid-30s level Ratatatas when my starter was only in the mid-20s and was ALWAYS on my team. It just removes the connection to the pokemon you get when training them, in my opinion. If the EXP Share was set to like 10%, then I'd have been fine, but as is, it's way to powerful and I hate that they don't let you turn it off at all. For me, that really ruins the game.
this is a much better review ... I watched to reviews before thi and not even completely to the end of the video ..... this other reviews felt soulless and they didn't sound like reviewers ... just dry critics . You sound like a person reviewing something you love and being honest but also not overly critical whining about nonsense BS that doesn't matter .... this is a perfectly tited review and not clickbait
Hey, I truly appreciate the contents of this comment! This review truly was a passion project, since I grew up with the original blue and red rescue team, so I am glad I got that feeling across. Thank you❤
Now this is what we can called a neutral review. This game imo will do so much better if the first RT team doesn't exist. Most ppl mindlessly shitting on this game are merely projecting their own expectations from their experience playing the 1st game. They do not shit on it becoz it's a bad game, but rather because they did not get a game they wanted exactly.
Toffe video man
Interesting I never had a problem with aiming on bigger Pokemon but great video, in the main story defeating Rayqauza was so scary near the end of that fight, I thought taking 5 reviver seeds would be too much or me being cautious and they all got used up on him it was a yikes from me, after defeating groudon so easily with the power of friendship(8 Pokémon most being water), yeah the bosses in this game don't mess around assuming don't grind much like me and just tried to get through it efficiently enough.
@@MegaSparkster true lucky, but maybe you are lucky as well?! I bought it from a store (physical)...so maybe go tomorrow and search some stores for it, you might get lucky as well
What I don't like about this game is how sluggish it feels. Every 3d mystery dungeon game is slow, doesn't always register inputs correctly and lags like crazy. I don't think they're ever going to fix it since it's been like that for decades
With the games taking up a bunch of space that would mean i'd have to move the footage every ~1h of gameplay. I played DX for 96h. It's just not viable enough.
you can record your switch without an external device using the default record button albeit only 30 seconds at a time, but it would work fine for this type of video even if it's tedious
Idk most of your “this pissed me off so bad” tangents were overblown and out of proportion. And the controls are fine I have only played on my tv and haven’t noticed anything.
While I would have worded things differently and have changed my opinion on things just a tad bit, I don't think my "tangents" were all that harsh or overblown. Besides, it's just an opinion and yours and mine can differ, which is fine🙃 Again, in terms of writing far from my best work, but oh well🤷♂️
After this video I think I won't get this game. I loved the originals and was thrilled to see a remake but most of the things you mentioned they changed really bugged me. I think it's just not for me
"Having 8 pokemon vs 4 isn't actually that broken because the 8 pokemon can DIE!" ...okay? and the 4 pokemon can also die. If I have 4 pokemon and 4 of them die then I lose the run, but if I have 8 pokemon and 4 of them die I still have 4 pokemon left. I really don't understand what your argument was there.
i dont like this remake they got rid of one defining feature that made PMD special Regular attacks i dont like 3d cause it looks weird and to far off the og friend areas were something BIG for me in the OG, just hanging out there and having a blast with the music The species of a pokemon doesnt in any way make any difference in terms of stats. i had a wurmple lv71 and a butterfree lv 70, both had the exact same stats. Next point: Leveling Leveling was made a joke and kinda messed up and worthless (FUCKING lv71 wurmple was my highest, higher then my 2 mons i used ALL THE TIME) there are many positives like the level of accurazy to the og story and overall story progression, visual upscaling of the story (that meteor shot HOLY SHIT) but all the negatives messing up my experience, i cant handle this game... i grew up with the OG. it has a special place in my heart to the end of time. removing regular attacks allready killed my motivation to play through it
1. I need to get popular first😂 2. I don't think i'll ever take a free game for a "good" review rather than an honest one. It just goes against everything i stand for
I think they should have improve the friend area instead of killing them... Secondly, the fact that some pokemon want to join your team, after accomplishing their mission is a bad thing because I cannot say no to them! The art style is okaish-not good or bad the recruitment is worse than in the original-now you are limited in how many Pokemon you can recuit per dungeon mission...
I wasn't gonna respond to this comment, because your points/opinions are valid enough (even if I disagree, but hey that's what opinions are for :D), but you're wrong about the last one. I think you're confused with the explorers titles, where you can recruit as many pokémon as you want and they'll just be sent to the guild. In the original red/blue rescue team you can only recruit 3 pokémon per dungeon before your team is full and you'll have to come back if you want to recruit any more of them. In fact DX is much better than the originals in that aspect, since you can recruit up to 8 pokémon per dungeon. So no, the recruitment isn't worse. P.S. I assume you meant you feel bad by saying no to the recruited pokémon after clearing the dungeon, because you can most definitely say no to them and they'll just leave lol (Referring to your second point here).
@@WordsOfWisdomForReal With secondly, I meant that you sometimes get the Pokemon which made the mission and you cannot refuse them-and get a normal reward. (of course you can later kick them out but that is just a chore when you do not want them in the first place) Okay, but then the recruitment of the explorers titles is better than in the dx version:)
Ah i see. Well in their defense, you can see what the reward is before accepting their mission, so there is 1 way to prevent them from ever joining you in the first place. However, I do recall explorers having the option to reject them, even after completing the mission... So I don't really understand why they got rid of that.
@@WordsOfWisdomForReal The good thing in exploreres was-you can reject them-the bad thing was-they were always level1 so rejecting was most of the time a good idea. Actually, I enjoyed playing mystery dungeon dx but I think it had so much potential to be definitly better than the originals (in my eyes). For example, the forest where you can get Celibi: It was so hard to get to the last level and then you only see the text that it wants to join your team and that´s it...
Attacking is gone. Enemies revealed in every Dungeon. Removal of IQ system. Horrible animations. These are just four of the many things that made me quit the game halfway through. I've played MD Red when it came out as a little kid and after the immense disappointment of this game I've bought MD Blue and having much more fun already. All the "Quality of Life" changes could never make up for all the essential game mechanics that were removed or altered for no reason.
If u paid attention, I mention i don't have the tools to record **my own switch** , so yes I played the game (for 100h at this point). Guess you missed it. 1:39
The animations in this game are really stupendously bad, but everything else seems solid enough. I'm not sure if I will ever buy it if the price doesn't go down though, really hurts to pay more money than I did for the original for a game that is the same if not worse in my book
Did u even watch the video? The analog sticks on BOTH the joycons and the pro controller feel unresponsive in this game, which has never been a problem in any other game I played. So YES it is partly due to the game not cooperating. Keep your stupid ass rude comments to yourself if you're going ti base it on nonsense. I praise this game for what it is for 40 minutes and out of everything you could have commented, you decided to comment on something that wasnt even insinuated. Be better.

Also I don't like the art style, I know is meant to look like a child's book but the random lines there have turns me off, it feels cheap.
now i want an sky remake
After the sales of this one, i am confident they will
PMD so worth the money. The art is great, game
Play is even better
Yo no problem real John Cena, love your work
I hope Explorers of Sky gets a remake.
I haven't been able to afford the game until now and I'm glad I've waited for the price to go down haha
The most exciting thing for me is that it will be easier to use new and different pokemon.
I refuse to belive this game already is 4 years old
IKR. Time is passing so fast after the pandemic.
Piplup is my favorite pokemon. I really wish the rescue team games, especially this new remake, had gen 4 pokemon added.
this game is clean as hell, im 34 hours in. Ultra rank at the moment.
This shows Mystery Dungeon isn't dead yet!
thanks sir, gonna cope it for 42$. Appreciate the review, you answered lots of questions I had
Funny how perceptions can differ so much
Not Gunna lie dawg I have this game and I still watch this cause your funny plus actually go over what’s important
I love mystery dungeon dx, really.
But you know what problem I have with it?
The damn shinies. Why are there 2 separate Dungeons, where 2 "unique" boss shinies are both from the same line (eg Hoothoot & noctowl, exeggutor & exeggcute?
1 dungeon could've had the noctowl, the other dungeon could've had a whole new shiny 😤😭
Whoooo thought that was a great idea? Smfh.
Like, out of all the eeveelutions only espeon is shiny. Why? WHY?? why make me suffer like this.
way better than the IGN review
Thats not hard to accomplish, to be fair
@@WordsOfWisdomForReal Well, sadly yes

Fuck their crappy reviews. Their explorers of sky review still creates anger in me

19:30 you can actually turn off the map completely in the settings
I tried playing a bit without the map before, and it's HARD AS HELL
I haven't played pmd dx yet because I'm too broke for a switch. But I do hear 1 change that Bugged tons of peps out. Auto-Save. I don't mind this change at all. Makes you think twice before going in the Dungeon and making Escape orbs have a Better use. (Unlike soft resetting)
People were mad about that????? If you dislike auto-save, you just intended to save scum your way through a videogame, which is pretty pathetic on itself😂
@@WordsOfWisdomForReal hands up for a Pokemon game that doesn't ask for it to save lol
Not gonna lie, Escape Orbs not being completely worthless is an idea I can get behind (even if I would nornally just savescum 80% of the time anyways.)
If you press y it auto faces a Pokémon if it's in range of you and shows the number of tiles between you and it
2:44 you say it looks amazing and show footage of ekans wiggling super weird ^^ but still great video my guy, keep it up
Hahaha, I thought ekans' wiggling animation was like the funniest thing ever though😂
ekans wiggling is funny.
Hmmm.....you can turn the map off in the settings. Why would you though as it is only available during the main gameplay.
are you sure? maybe it was in an update before this video
The input lag probs Isn't lag but rather just exists.
Crud.
Just wanna say you can get the A attack back with settings
Tbh, many of the things you mentioned weren't much of an issue for me
Really liked your review!
14:20 such a missed opportunity to have a dungeon named "Mirage Tower" in honour of gen 3 thooooo
Intergrating the X-Ray Specs was honestly one of the best moves they made. So useful, especially when you’re low on health or belly.
Don’t suck at the easy game. Simple. Especially when it’s only on for STORY missions, the hardest part of them is always the boss fight.
This is even worse than forced xp share. Xray specs is too broken.
@@smtandearthboundsuck8400 it really isn't
@@Mqstodon It is. You can avoid every single fight of a dungeon easily and never be taken by surprise.
When I saw Friend Areas weren't like before I decided not buying the game, same as the missing Battle frontier in ORAS
X-ray specs were a must have on every party.
"the only mystery dungeon video you'll ever need"
refers you to a different video telling you that you need to watch that first in the first minute
[Insert WTF Pikachu Face here]
Seriously, Pikachu made a Kirby "WTF I've been hit hard" face in the thumbnail, hahaha!!
Honestly the removal of physical friend zones is so sad
I mean, I'm OKHOing things like nothing, but that's because I've got nasty plot and thunderbolt linked on Pikachu, and steamroller backing me up.
19:30. that is only for the main story, the map shows nothing in the post game.
Bro i literally say this exact thing 25 seconds later in the video
Only real DX Video out there
the title just looked interesting so i clicked it
i'm so Happy they made a remake of this game
there is 1 item in the Original that i kept Losing
GOGGLE SPECS every time i'd would lose it due getting taken out
i'd have to put in a code to go to tiny woods to get the goggle specs again
but in this game the Goggle specs are all over in dungeons...A++
i can see the traps & get thru the dungeon faster at the same time
as well in Red & blue rescue when you had a Pick up pokemon such as Zigzagoon the item would
show when you looked at the pokemon thru they're summary. in this game the item they picked up
is already in you're bag even if you have on a item such as a weather band as well clear the dungeon map
instead of the leader pokemon doing it.
I like the improvements they made in this game
the monster houses & big pokemon don't bother me because
i don't use them they get in my way.
Wow the name of your original mystery dungeon team raises alot of questions 😅
Whatchu mean, it's the most normal name ever hehehe
I loved the video, however my only hot take on this was that it isnt actually a shiny kecleon. Shiny kecleon only has a blue stripe instead of a red stipe over the belly. I only realized this recently when my fiance and i were talking about kecleons non existence in pokemon go.
I was gonna exit out the video but when he said “some of them got the game for FUCKING FREE” im like ayo facts facts so i stayed for the video
One of the best revieuws ever on a game. But one thing I definitely had added was shiny hunting its so much fune my team is sich now with the shiny’s i got shiny dragonite, shiny gyarados, and shiny espeon. Such a great game 👍
Posting this before having finished the video : found it in my recommendation after watching some Pokémon anime related videos!
Ty for letting me know how you found this, hope more will follow! RUclips algorithm fascinates me.

the xray being mandatory is an L. I prefer the xray but I also believe in CHOICE. It should have been in the options to toggle it on or off.
You should look up Chocobo's mystery dungeon.
Question. If the X-ray specs are already a feature, what is their purpose when equipping them?
The feature doesnt work in post game dungeons, so that's where it's a useful item
this is a much better review ...
I don't think you even mentioned auto, did you? Getting used to auto mode is what solves the whole frustration with the controls for me :)
Toffe video man
@@WordsOfWisdomForReal Haha hartstikke bedankt man!
That isn’t shiny kacleon

What I don't like about this game is how sluggish it feels. Every 3d mystery dungeon game is slow, doesn't always register inputs correctly and lags like crazy.
I don't think they're ever going to fix it since it's been like that for decades
Bruh the switch has an automatic record feature
The switch also has the memory space of a goldfish
@@WordsOfWisdomForReal Record and move the clips to your computer for editing, then record more
Like bruh
With the games taking up a bunch of space that would mean i'd have to move the footage every ~1h of gameplay. I played DX for 96h. It's just not viable enough.
you can record your switch without an external device using the default record button albeit only 30 seconds at a time, but it would work fine for this type of video even if it's tedious
How many pokemon can you catch in this game ?
Every available pokémon up until generation 3 + their evolutions in later generations such as tangrowth and magmortar who were introduced after gen 3
And lucario
Idk most of your “this pissed me off so bad” tangents were overblown and out of proportion. And the controls are fine I have only played on my tv and haven’t noticed anything.
While I would have worded things differently and have changed my opinion on things just a tad bit, I don't think my "tangents" were all that harsh or overblown. Besides, it's just an opinion and yours and mine can differ, which is fine🙃 Again, in terms of writing far from my best work, but oh well🤷♂️
Another dutchie?
I loved shiny hunting the 27 pokemon
After this video I think I won't get this game. I loved the originals and was thrilled to see a remake but most of the things you mentioned they changed really bugged me. I think it's just not for me
"Having 8 pokemon vs 4 isn't actually that broken because the 8 pokemon can DIE!"
...okay? and the 4 pokemon can also die. If I have 4 pokemon and 4 of them die then I lose the run, but if I have 8 pokemon and 4 of them die I still have 4 pokemon left. I really don't understand what your argument was there.
i dont like this remake
they got rid of one defining feature that made PMD special
Regular attacks
i dont like 3d cause it looks weird and to far off the og
friend areas were something BIG for me in the OG, just hanging out there and having a blast with the music
The species of a pokemon doesnt in any way make any difference in terms of stats. i had a wurmple lv71 and a butterfree lv 70, both had the exact same stats.
Next point: Leveling
Leveling was made a joke and kinda messed up and worthless (FUCKING lv71 wurmple was my highest, higher then my 2 mons i used ALL THE TIME)
there are many positives like the level of accurazy to the og story and overall story progression, visual upscaling of the story (that meteor shot HOLY SHIT)
but all the negatives messing up my experience, i cant handle this game... i grew up with the OG. it has a special place in my heart to the end of time.
removing regular attacks allready killed my motivation to play through it

ok I hope you'll keep your word for it good luck👍
I think they should have improve the friend area instead of killing them...
Secondly, the fact that some pokemon want to join your team, after accomplishing their mission is a bad thing because I cannot say no to them!
The art style is okaish-not good or bad
the recruitment is worse than in the original-now you are limited in how many Pokemon you can recuit per dungeon mission...
(of course you can later kick them out but that is just a chore when you do not want them in the first place)
Okay, but then the recruitment of the explorers titles is better than in the dx version:)
“Nobody is giving me the game for free, and I’m using someone’s footage.” Did you play the game before you made this review?
If u paid attention, I mention i don't have the tools to record **my own switch** , so yes I played the game (for 100h at this point). Guess you missed it.

The animations in this game are really stupendously bad, but everything else seems solid enough. I'm not sure if I will ever buy it if the price doesn't go down though, really hurts to pay more money than I did for the original for a game that is the same if not worse in my book
Ok, your blaming the game for the pro controller being bad. That's pretty shitty. You do realize the joycons work in docked mode right.
Be better.
