I can't wait to get the new version 3 when it is released. I am very excited at the thought of being able to combine slide, midi guitar, and MPE. You are an amazing player! Thank you for showing us what it can do and what the possibilities for new creative expression can be.
In one of your past videos you played the SM Trombone with your fretless Vigier. I will try the slide to control the SM Trombone to see if it is effective like what you are doing here. Thanks for your great videos!
It should absolutely work even with the MG2 software since it is monophonic! But don’t forget to put the PitchBend values at 12 for both Instruments. 👍
@@GN-z11150 Hi man! I've checked my videos, and I don't know which one you are referring to? I have played both the Audio Modeling and the Straight Ahead Trombones with my Vigier, but I can't find any recordings of me using the Sample Modeling one. But going by the SM instrument I do have on my computer today (trumpet and the strings) you can't change the PB range on SM instruments. These Kontakt instruments have the (annoying) cogs instead of the wrench in the little upper left box, so you really can go into the Kontakt instrument and make changes like this. Check this for reference: ruclips.net/video/bhCj2dHe3EM/видео.html
I have, and it sounds marvelous. But I switched harddrive for my sampleslibraries and something happened to it. And I can’t repair it like with any other library, so I must look into that. Surely it will appear in a future video! 😀👍
Not really! You need the MPE functionality to be able to have control of the the indiviual pitches separately. The old MIDI 1.0 protocol in MG2 just allows for bending/sliding on one string at a time. And if you want to try that, set the pitch bend range to the highest value (12) on both MG2 and the synth you are playing, and you are able to slide 12 semitones (for any one note at a time). 👍
@@harshkumar1280 Well, I don't know so I am not going to speculate. This question is rather sensitive, unfortunately. Everybody wants it out as soon as possible, but my guesstimating won't change anything. There are things left to wrinkle out, and everyone interested will surely be informed when the beta version is coming out. I guess you have singed up to the JamOrigin mailing list? (All the way down at the bottom of the page www.jamorigin.com)
Wow wow.. I am a lap steel guitar player and I can play that type guitar only. After watching your video I feel it is possible to play SWAM string instruments realistically with midi guitar 2 and breath controller. Please correct me if I am wrong.
You should absolutely be able to play any kind of virtual instrument. The problem with the (almost) monophonic instrument like a SWAM string is just how well well you can isolate and control all sounding notes. But I don’t see that as a problem really! 😀
@@sepic5407 Well, reading from their site we get to know that ” It combines concepts of Physical Modeling and Behavioral Modeling with the Multi-Vector/Phase-Synchronous Sample-Morphing technique.” Did that make anything clearer? 😄
First of all many thanks for all the time you spent sharing all those info for free :) Do you have any discord or telegram group/community? If it's still not up, someone would be interested to join/create this community? Thank you and thanks all the positive vibes also in comments!! Keep the fiyah burnin!
Thank you for them kind words! And no, I do not have any groups or community up. I haven’t seen any sort of real interest for that yet, to be honest. Any and all questions are usually being able to answer here or in the MIDI Guitar forum. jamosapien.com But I don’t see it being a bad thing havng an additional resource avalible, so if anyone is interested in creating one, please let me know. 😀🙏🤝
@@lofileif Awesome!! I think discord is one of the best platform for communities. The section/categories give everybody the opportunity to share everything they want and it keep topics in order :) May can name the server:"Midi guitars"? You have any name suggestions? :)
MIDI Guitar is a pretty broad title for the things I am concerned with personally. I guess it would generate a lot of subcategories into hardware/software alternatives and all kinds of devices. Jammy, Jamstik, RoR guitars are also MIDI guitars, and of course it would be fantastic to have ONE place to go to for all discussions but wouldn't it be very much to manage?
