  • There are way too many selfies in this video and I apologize for that. I'm back! Take a trip with me on a brief video recap of my 15th NFL season with NFL Films and why we moved to Washington. Thanks to Cary Edmondson and Eric Jensen for some amazing BTS photos of me in action behind the camera.

    Excited to see you back on RUclips! Looks like that workspace has a ton of potential for a killer RUclips studio 😏

    Congrats on your new gig! Aww bummer wish you were still in California! Well, if you're ever out here again for football and need an extra hand, let's shoot a Niner game at Levi's! I live so close! Man, the Niners are killing it so far! Would be so cool if you were shooting the most recent Santa Clara games!

    Is T-mobile on the canon platform? Can you talk about that and the pros/cons vs sony or even arri's? It's a conversation that will never die, hahah!

    What are your tips for following the ball while being superrrr zoomed in? If you use parfocal lenses where would you set your focus in the beginning? Always love the videos

      Stay focused on the QB as they drop back. As they release the ball try to stay at the same focal length as you were on the QB as you follow the ball through the air. Roll focus with the ball as it travels towards you. Wait to zoom out until the ball approaches the receiver. It’s tough to perfect but practice is key to get the muscle memory in your fingers for focus and zoom on the lens barrel.

    What is your technique for following a pass nice and tight and not losing track of it ?? Any recommendations ?

    • @DomTheDP
      @DomTheDP  10 месяцев назад +1

      When you first start shooting football stay a little wider on the QB so when he throws its easier to go up with the ball and not lose it. The trick is to not zoom in on a ball coming your direction, only zoom out. So set your frame on the QB and as the ball gets closer to you, then zoom out to capture the catch. Practice, practice practice.

    When you say slow motion, what frames per second are we talking about ?

    • @DomTheDP
      @DomTheDP  Год назад

      Great question. “Slow motion” 48fps & 60fps. When I say “high speed” I’m talking about 120fps.
