    How is the frunk optional?? Not only optional, but packaged as a $5000 option

    • @lesalbro8880
      @lesalbro8880 2 месяца назад +3

      More than a few EV's don't have a frunk at all. I guess I don't really have an issue with it being optional, in principle. It costs extra money for them to provide it, and some customers won't care about having it, so not necessarily a need for it to be standard. As you say though, the fact that you'd have to spend $5k on a bunch of stuff you might not want, in order to get a frunk is ridiculous. Same if you just want a wireless charging pad, premium LED headlamps, power hatch, etc. I had to deal with this to a lesser degree when I bought my 300. Couldn't get navigation, which I wanted, without getting a panoramic sun roof and some other stuff, which seemed to have no logical connection to each other. If a vehicle is being ordered, a customer should be able to individually choose the options that they want. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like any of these companies operate that way though.

      @TayoAAdetola 2 месяца назад +2

    Trouble here is that there's no real "affordable" base model. Nothing like an SXT or a GT, to be a volume seller. Doesn't seem like there will be when the gas powered versions come out either. It'll basically be an RT and a Scat Pack equivalent. It seems likely that there won't be a single Dodge Charger Daytona with an MSRP under $50k. I don't see this as really being sustainable, because people don't generally view Dodge as a premium brand. When you're comparing the price of a Dodge, with BMW, there's a problem.

    I've said this before and I'll say it again as respectfully as i possibly can, you guys need to stop talking as if these prices are acceptable they're not. I can't stress how many videos you guys defend these automakers with these insane markups. No feature is worth paying 70,000 plus dollars for in a muscle car PERIOD. The more reviewers like you guys that talk as if these prices are some how a good deal or even minutely worth it, it's going to give the audience and the manufacturers the false sense that somehow they are still not charging enough and will give them the green light to do future price increases.
    I know you have to walk the fine line between consumer and manufacturer but you guys need to start a hard look at the way you phrase these videos, because you and the rest of the RUclipsr review community are absolutely contributing to these prices increasing in sometimes double-digit percentage points year after year.

    In the current economic climate, where many systems are in disarray, the market has struggled to support a vehicle price of $75,000 alongside an constant shifting (APR) for the past four years. Consequently, monthly payments are likely to exceed $800, not accounting for insurance or electricity costs. It is important to recognize that transitioning from gasoline to electric vehicles merely shifts the burden; electricity rates are expected to rise, leading to higher utility bills for homeowners, thereby creating a Catch-22 situation.

    Hear me out... the pricing isn't as bad as people say. Let me explain.
    The Daytona was created to test out the EV waters and try new things, and it is not the everyman's muscle car like the ICE models were[/might continue to be]. There's likely a considerable amount more components on the Daytona versus the Hurricane version, which means that the Hurricane has the potential to be significantly cheaper (45-50K range).
    The Scat Pack costs more or less the same as the Tesla Model S Long Range, and it looks fresher, has a more interesting background, and is a bit cooler overall, particularly with the sedan variant. The new Charger will be successful in the Hurricane variant, but I'm not so sure about the Daytona.

    When the EV Charger is released, it will outsold by the Lucid Air Pure. Stellantis screwed up 2x. They should’ve kept the V8s, or at least kept the legacy moniker cars ICE while releasing all new vehicles and names for EV only. If they wanted to use a legacy name, why not Valiant? The original 1960 Valiant was not a Plymouth, and was a technology centric release being the first car with an alternator. The ship is not sinking, it’s sunk.

    I think there are still a bunch of unanswered questions about these cars. If we went just off of what we have, the pricing is a bit iffy. Not outrageous when compared to other EVs in the same, on paper, performance bracket but definitely not approachable. I think Dodge needs to give answers about the whole product line and not just the EVs, but I also think they don't want to overshadow the new EVs with the new ICE versions. Assuming we do actually get the 550hp HO hurricane, it should on paper beat the base EV in quite a few metrics but will it be cheaper? It would hope so given it is only a marginal step up from the outgoing Scat Pack. All things in time, but I really hope Dodge can get on top of the marketing for this. They are very likely not rep'ing what is probably a pretty sweet vehicle very well.
