  • @michaelhughes3302
    @michaelhughes3302 Месяц назад +2

    For those interested, the real numbers are this. Assuming your insurance is $150 per month, the cost of ownership before charging costs is $6600 over two years or $3300 per year. Divided by 365 days in a year, your actual cost $9.04 per day. And that 10000 mile per year will limit you to 27 miles average of use per day. Assuming that you work a five day week, your commute had better be under 20 miles return if you plan on using the car for longer trips on weekends. Say 85 miles of use. Something to think about.

      Not looking yet, but new 2024 Oil-Lobby (via-Big-Red-party) rules just added $100 to the $29 annual tag vehicle tax!
      This gross charge applies to my family's 2005 Hybrid Toyota Highlander, all EVs, all hybrids (not just anything plug-in), and probably anything getting over 15 MPG. Getting 22MPG instead of 16MPG in the city must be a Sin to Nashville.
      It works like the Canadian Carbon Tax except reversed, where your other taxes, such as Boat and Tow vehicle registations will be subsidized by the slimy "greens" who wanna hug trees, and shirk doing their part to support Big Oil. Think of it as the Tennessee FU Anti-Carbon Tax on Hybrid-Progressives and CVTrannys. Funny thing, turns out over half the sleazy-governed flyover states have adopted this directive from their Oil Lobby masters in the last 3 years.

I think Nashville would sooner have their children attend public school or date a democrat, than offer any subsidy on a Nissan Leaf. (we have at least 2 Teslas in my city anyway)

      @AkioWasRight Месяц назад +7

      Not at all.
      First of all, residual was 63%, which translates to around $10,500 in depreciation cost. But about 90% of this offer is pure government incentive, or $9,500, which only leaves about $1,000 to pay off.
      Second, Nissan doesn't sell the car or create the terms, that's between the dealer and the buyer.
      So, what's there to take a hit on? The dealer tossed in its own discount, but with all the fees and whatnot they had, they're probably still making money.

Fast I'd you want, but I like to get the most miles so I put the economy and 1 pedal driving, in 2 weeks we have 260 miles. some places in Aurora they city pays for the charge up to 4 hrs on level 2, so we have spend a grand total of 2.36 dollars in those 260 miles. In perspective my jeep took 45 to fill up a little more than half a tank and my truck 60 dollars for half a tank. We are running the leaf as a run about the city which excels at.

The 10K milage a year covers the mundane tasks and lets you score a 10K mileage lease (cheapest) on another EV of your choice like the IONIQ 5 N. Use the leaf as a grunt and N for the rowdy rider. get an old chevy volt. pay 7k, put basic insurance on it, mines 20$/mo. i saved almost 3000$ last year in gas and put 35k miles on it as a one car solution. if you want to save money this is what you do. the insurance alone will eat up any gas you expect to save driving around town since thats all the leaf can do. once you factor in how much my volt has gone up in value since i bought the car a year ago, its a free car. thats cheaper than mcdonalds, especially now days.

    It’s a $18k car that they raise the price on to $30k+ because the government is giving out a rebate to pay for a lot of it, so even with depreciation when the lease is up they’ll still get something close to the real value of the car, especially if the new owner finances through them

      That's pretty much the same as US pricing depending on where you live. $18CAD is $13USD. In Boulder CO a regular Big Mac meal is ~$10.50, a double big mac (which is only available at a few locations in the US) is ~$12.50-13. If you live in a lower cost of living area/state that has no extra tax on fast food, a big mac meal is closer to ~$8

    I have said it before about these things, at the best case scenario, low usage/range lifestyle, they have their place in society. And in some places where the weather is fair all year around, even more so. I would not want one where you live. Nor where I live. Or anywhere that one has cold climate conditions that you have to traverse on a daily commute. IS this a great deal if you live in CO.? As a 1 only vehicle daily commuter, no. Because of your cold climate issues. IF this deal was in CA., Hawaii, FL., AZ, etc. then yes it would be a fair deal.
