I loved hearing Roman say "for f*ck sake" it's honestly what we're all thinking 😅
Omg I had to replay that to make sure I heard that right and share it with a buddy but he is totally right
"...or maybe an suv challenger"
"Oh for f*** sake I hope not"
I laughed so hard
That should be a TFL RUclips shot clip! 🤣
Actually The dodge Durango ..
Okay good I wasn't the only one who laughed 😂
As did I. I also hope that the challenger does not become and SUV.
A lifted rally focused version of the charger, I would be more okay with.
“Oh for Fucksake, I hope not!” 😂😂😂😂
36:08 is my new favorite moment from all your videos. 😂
8 spark plugs? I've had 3 new gen Hemi's and all had 16 plugs. 😂
36:08 is the most satisfied I've ever been from watching TFL.
EV are vehicle's without a soul. Nothing gets me more excited than hearing my engine. Got a 6.2L Camaro, 350 chev K1500 and Silverado duramax diesel. Music for the soul hearing it start up.
Inanimate object dont have souls. Sell your witchcraft and mysticism somewhere else.
Blame Democrats.
The Pursuit allowed powertrain from the Old Dodge magnum to live on after that option was no longer sold on in the newer version of the chassis.
Damn 359 miles out of a full tank when I fill my 5.7 I get 134 on a full tank lol and 5.7s are rated 370 horse 390tq and all that awd does to a 5.7 is add weight....
Something is wrong with your 5.7... my 2016 ram got 25mpg (about 600 miles per tank). I loved that truck. Now I drive a built 5.3 silverado... I love it, but at best, I get 13mpg... still get 325 miles in a tank... on 33 inch mud tires.
I agree Roman, having everything in the screen is a safety issue because you have to look away from the road longer to change simple stuff like temperature or lights
Roman keep on ranting and cussing 😂great job 👍🔥🔥
Never been so entertained🤣😂 Good job Roman! Saying what we are all thinking
Who's betting that someone will put a proper V8 in one of those, im thinking AMW?
I bet dodge will at some point, with very limited production
Hennessey
Stelantis will put a v8 in it in 2026. These companies can’t lose money forever no matter how big they are.
@@lonerider5315 I am thinking the same thing. When this EV mess falls on its face and they stack up on lots like EV mustang, they will surely bring back some sort of v8 Hemi for it. Probably a smaller displacemt turbo v8 .
When the EVs don’t sell they’ll put an ICE motor in it
its like dodge is purposely trying to go out of business or not trying to sell cars
I doubt they see the next decade
I would love to buy that Charger pursuit but you couldn't give me the new electric or I6 one. RIP Dodge.
TFL podcasts: "We point at things you can't see". Ironic.
I was told dodge will have a gas powered sedan available in 2025 for police last year. I assist with vehicle purchases for my agency and the source that provided that information sold us a new Durango pursuit last year. He goes to all of the manufacturer expos for police and was told this by a representative in the Dodge police section. I was asking because I had alot if interest in trying a new charger for my agency if conditions were right.
Historically, until 2006 (LX), CHARGER was always two doors on a large car platform! The 4-door variant is the miracle child turned Rockstar! I do think that this new 2-door CHARGER will always be available with all trim levels (my opinion). I can remember seeing an early '70s CHARGER in black while traveling up-state SC and falling in love all over again. Here's my chance to own a copy of its DNA inspired DREAMCHILD. Hopefully, there will be other interior color combos to choose from as well! I don't know what exterior color I'll choose, but I do know that I want the hi-back seats!!
🤣🤣Your discussion about air vents made me laugh! I agree with Roman! Don't touch my vents! 😂😂 So entertaining! Thanks for the laugh!!! 🙂
Actually, you could get an all-wheel drive V8 hemi in a couple of years as a civilian, but it was rare and they didn't have the other police mods. I know I'm almost positive 2014 was one of the years you could
I’m more interested in the $8000 new truck from Chevy. I just wish it was 4x4.
One of my favorite podcasts from you guys.... just a touch of authenticity 😉
I don’t think they are going to be a big seller in the ev trim. The hatchback is pretty sweet, I like that idea.
EV by Fiat. Fiat cannot make real cars. Think they got EV ? LOL.
@@ejf0255 oh I agree I will never buy one dodge builds total garbage 🗑️
@GeorgeJFW Not Dodge. They were far better without FIAT. FIAT failed once in America, crawling out in the middle of the night in 80s. No warning for their own dealers. Pathetic. They still suck ! 40 plus years later !
Fiat dont own the company no more@@ejf0255
The sound from the new charger reminds me of the turbo interceptor sound from "The Wraith" 1986.
I believe CHALLENGER will return as a smaller offering with sportier handling more akin to Mustang and Camaro, possibly with a hybrid drive train.
I think so too. Tim K. showed a car under a cover two years ago that has a different bumper then the Charger...
Perhaps Dodge should've offered the Hemis a few more years in their new cars to serve as a better bridge (versus Hurricanes) through this transition from ICE's to EV's?
They could discontinue the Hemis when the take rate for the Hurricanes eventually overtakes the Hemis. People absolutely love their Hemis and Dodge is pulling the rug out from underneath them forcing them to a high-strung, overbosted, and overstressed twin turbo inline 6. I fear this risky strategy decision by Dodge & Stellantis may backfire on them big time.
The new charger weighs 1000lbs more than my F150 😂
The gas cars are around 4000 pounds.
@@bryanhallman8183 I'll be very pleasantly surprised if they are close to 4000. (around being 3800-4200) I hope you are right don't get me wrong but... awd and larger platform could be 4500+
@@ChallengerGuy22 I don't think so, since they have to hit a certain EPA MPG number for all non-heavy duty trucks. This is another key reason they had to dump the Hemi V8's. If you look on the Maroneys of all 2024 Mustang GT's, they have a gas guzzler tax added in. That "tax" (more like government anal fisting) is not only paid by the customers, but also the manufacturers.
@@bryanhallman8183 I hope you are right but the EV supposedly weighs near 1000lbs more than a tesla model S (according to reviews ) that's massively more. That doesn't give me a lot of hope that they have worked Mopar magic on the ice versions weight wise. That being said they will very likely still be more efficient than the out going V8s both in mpg and that smog index number. They could still be quite heavy. AWD and large dimensions usually don't come without a penalty in weight.
Whatever money Charger EV owners save on gas will be spent on tires.
Say No! to Fartzonic!
Can you imagine. Police EV pursuit vehicle loses the suspect because it has to find a charging station. I will laugh out loud.
Probably catch him in less than a mile.
You can’t outrun the radio
150 mile long pursuit?
IT WILL BREAK DOWN
It just means charging stations will be getting a dunkin donuts installed soon.
Also, Butler spoke out because Judge Cannon is allowing the release of the witness names.
We have a lot of Durango police suvs here in southeast texas
Why is no one mentioning the Kevin James movie where they are making an electric car sound like a real one, and pitching it to Dodge, lol it was in 2011 I think it’s called , the Dilemma.
The other thing I'd say is the fake exhaust and marketing is all trying to make this thing something that it isn't. If you want to make an electric car lean into it.
So the Camaro gets dropped and Stellantis decides to steal the design? It will be interesting to see how this is received. I can assure you it wont be found in my garage.
Don’t forget about the corvette, ya got that!
Great video guys. Very well put, the EV is really is lacking the sole, or feel, that you get with v8 powered muscle cars.
I really liked the watch analogy digital or I-watch vs classic Rolex .
Digital watches, like EV cars, are disposable. When the battery (or batteries) die, you buy another one (same goes for the starter battery in your ICE vehicle). A Rolex, you take to a jeweler to be repaired. An ICE vehicle you take to a mechanic for the same reason. Replacing EV batteries costs several thousand dollars -- and EV cars have a habit of catching on fire. Furthermore, resale value for EVs is terrible. I don't see Dodge selling many EV Chargers. I'd wager they'll have lower sales than the Dodge Hornet.
@@John_B52_HEMI I agree, and well said John_B, I think the public is starting to wake up to these facts.
I think all the manufactures are starting to struggle to move EV products, and it is likely to get worse.
Note to self, do not adjust Roman's air vents while he is sleeping in the passenger seat. He got worked up so much that he kind of cursed.
A classic rant!
If you adjust his air vents you will his horns. 🦬
That car is a perfect candidate for a Scatpack 6.4/392 swap! Beef up the transmission and the transfercase swap in a 392 Hemi, and she would be the perfect sleeper cop car👌
Too bad because the chassis on the new ev chargers are flat belly pan to accommodate the large batteries, which puts the ev motors in the front and the rear. you have to do heavy modifications to that chassis to be able to put a v8, transmission and final drive differential! Is not worth it! It could get very expensive!
The auto makers have a huge tax issue with good engines. But they absorb that into the sticker price and people don't realize why the prices are so high. They should have the real price, then an additional line detailing the penalty tax so customers know who to blame.
I think dodge is in the right direction other than I think that we should be getting the six packs before the bev. I think the gas powered ones will sell better. I'd definitely buy either one though, but lean more towards the hurricane
I want to sound like the Jetson’s
36:06...😅 Exactly !!!
6 minutes in and you discuss ICE vs EV and are using a Wyoming State Trooper car as an example. I can bet that EV would not last in a long chase out in the middle of Wyoming.
Hellcat = ~ 116hp/liter. SST_HO = ~183hp/liter. Just how much 'tuning' you think is left in that engine? 👀 It is Maxed Out
Roman on fire!!!
The 5.7 has more like 375 hp in a stick shift and 372 hp in an automatic.
Tried and true dedicated Charger/Challenger V8 owners will turn their heads away from these EV’s. It’ll be interesting how the 6 cyl will fair.
Where are the electric charging stations? In my area, there are NONE to be found. What are manufacturers doing to make the batteries efficient in bitter cold weather?
Great Channel 👍
1st to give a thumbs up 👍
And 1st to be 1st 🤗 🥇
A very easy thing to do On Sunday, with all you good 🙏 people in church ⛪️ 😇
You can beat the radio 😊 I would just say I’m glad I’m older an wiser.
EV Charger 'Doughnut mode' police only option.
There will be an optional taser on the electric police vehicle to render a fleeing vehicle inoperable.
It's sad that a person pays you tube for the premium so there is no advertisement, but then u see more advertisement In the video
Have we confirmed the 4 door also gets the hatch? Only the 2 door at the show actually had it open.
if we could get different tones . I would get the Jetsons
It sadly won't. It's an end of era and the reign of Dodge's crazy yet admirable performance cars
There was one parked in front of Dom's house in the last movie!
That sounded like a distorted bass note. Hopefully they’ll make it better than that when it comes out…lol
They real need to do extreme winter testing on this new charger Ev because if this car is unreliable for the 2024 or 2025. it may kill the car. give it too Police to test it first. before I buy one.
Idk, me personally... if I wanted a hatch, I'd just get an SUV. I think just for cars in general, I prefer a trunk... where I can safely store things out of sight. I wouldn't be mad if the hatchback was an option or trim, but standard? Meh...
16 spark plugs on the hemi and 370hp
I would be embarrassed if my ev made engine noises...(if i ever bought an ev) ill admit that, in certain applications, electric cars are kind of neat, but it really has no soul... theres something to spending hours in your garage wrenching on your vehicle to be rewarded by a couple of hundredths of a second in the quarter...vs downloading a program into your ev to "unlock" it's full power....never getting dirty, or busting your knuckles... it just robs the feeling of pride you get from working on your own ride...
37:30 also, no one tell musk about saabs experiments involving driving with a joystick.
I bet the six pack power train will be in the charger pursuit
I agree as well. high output TT i6 with 550 HP. since the charger sixpack has a 2 door coupe model alongside the sedan,I assume the police variant will also have that available as some form of high speed interceptor.
I've thought about this a lot, and I've came to a conclusion about the ICE vs. EV debate.
An EV may never appeal in the same way to people as an ICE. There is something visceral about starting a high horsepower V8 (and other configurations) and hearing/feeling that engine lope along. Same with accelerating and hearing it rev. That just does something an EV cannot.
I would consider myself an enthusiast. I put politics aside when it comes to ICE vs. EV. What I do like about EVs is the torque, acceleration, low maintenance costs, and something I think a lot of people don't think about - we can get our power for EVs locally (charging). I'm not old enough to have lived through the gas crisis of the 70's, but at least having another option other than burning up a finite resource is probably a good idea. Now I realize people will say "what about coal fired plants?" Yes, but there are also nuclear powered plants as well.
I think the answer is to give people a choice. Make the same car available in either gas or electric. Which Dodge is doing. But like Roman said, they should've debuted the Hurricane Charger first. Or at the same time.
I don't care for the looks. It's a cross of a 68 and 72 Charger. Doors look like the 72. Grill is too short and so are the tail lights. I just think the price will be way too high for it. Range is average at best. I don't think to EV will sell. My Toyota deal has like 150 hybrid Tundras and no gas ones. The gas only sell before they even hit the lot. Most of the people don't want an EV or Hybrid for certain vehicles. Trucks and muscle car people just want gas engines.
The six pack four-door is most likely gonna make it’s way to law-enforcement.
There is a video out there, at lease a year old now, with a state patrol that has Teslas for their state car, chasing a Mustang. But they could never get close enough to Perform a *"Pit Maneuver"* . So they just backed off and chased the Mustang that went into another state. Crossing the state line.
You can let anything touch the bottom of a Tesla for obvious reasons so driving on the grass off the highway will be the end of any Tesla.
That’s nonsense. Could (did?)it happen? I guess but it’s the kind of thing Tesla could, and would, fix in about 30 seconds of programming.
Obviously Teslas are a hell of a lot faster accelerating than these Chargers were…
@donschiffer7400 Yes, you can't touch the bottom of a EV, a EV doesn't have an engine bay. Rocks and things hitting the bottom of an EV will total an EV. If EV cop car were to drive fast in a San Francisco street in a chase and do a jump, that would total the car if the collision sensor didn't shut it down first.
Rotary gear selector another pain point.
I laughed at the f*** sake comment, but I seriously do want Stellantis to bring back the Magnum. It had great utility and the horsepower to shred the tires if you wanted.
Dodge took the boat comments seriously so they made it 5800 lbs CW. Now the Charger EV is an Ocean Liner.
New charger weight is almost 1 ton more than my 2008 dodge 1500... That's insanity.
370hp for those model years.
Driving an EV is like dating an attractive cadaver.
I like Raunchy Roman lol
Hybrids are the way to go!!!
Man this thing got load range D tires. 🤦🏽
Dodge has already basically been making suv chargers. It's just different badge names. The badge means nothing. Judge cars on their own merits
There is a great deal of personification going on with car enthusiasts and their cars. The TFL crew understands that; your vehicles have nick names. It is hard for enthusiasts to relate to electric vehicles for that reason: you are driving around sitting on an I-Pad basically.
It's an adult Power Wheels with fake V8 sounds 😂
Actually there was a civilian version AWD HEMI
It’s actually 16 spark plugs. 2 per cylinder on the HEMI
Actually it had 380 HP
Please do some research
I lke that u guys talk alot to us....Thanks!
The trouble with people giving their opinions here is they expect everyone reading them to agree with them. If you don't like it. Don't buy it. I'll do my own research and drive the vehicle and then have an opinion about it. Thanks for the informative review, but don't ask me what I think of it.
So…..for short it’s a speaker
The new Charger doesn't have a locking trunk. I would like to be able to lock things in the trunk securely...
Will the hurricane engine be put in the Jeep Wrangler and gladiator?
They were able to fit a 6 inline in the TJ....
I've read that they're suppose to be putting it into the new jeeps.
☕🌞Happy Sunday Everyone ☕✌️
Happy Sunday right back at ya 👋
Don't forget to set your clocks back , for those that you have to do manual. 😮
The new Dodge. After seeing only the invisible forget me please, PLEASE! Dodge Hornet, You see a new Charger Daytona or Charger 6 SixPack. Hornet? What Hornet?
36:09 is the BESTEST EVER!
Wheres the video of the car almost being stolen....?
It's a short on one of their channels where someone just walks by with a flashlight in the dark and pauses to look at it. They hyped it up to be attempted grand theft auto of an ex-police vehicle for views.
If the color of that car was the same as your shirt in the picture it would be good looking. They need to get rid of that baby poop orange.
The Blues Brothers😂😂😂
To me, EVs are about as exciting as refrigerators and washing machines, and the new Charger is no exception.
EV cars won’t work good in cold weather. Won’t sell.
But you live in a desert.

The name “Charger”, is a PUN. For an electric, rechargeable car. Get it?
That's what Dodge was planning ahead for in the '60's.
