I heard an interesting take on this, 61% of Fox is not owned by Rupert Murdoch and his ilk. When this defamation suit is finished. Those 61% will go after Murdoch to take control of Fox.
This fine is barely a speed bump. They need to publicly apologize for the same duration that they lied. That would wipe them out. Hopefully.

That quote is excellent and apt, although for the record, whether it’s Snopes, or where ever looked up, it’s commonly, attributed to Twain, but not necessarily his. Just want to be accurate, even though some don’t realize there’s a big difference between passing on wrongful information purposely as in Fox News, or something, that is honest mistake, in attribution

As part of the settlement Fox should have to run ads apologizing for lying to the viewers and correcting all the lies.
And have something like a Surgeon General warning every hour on the hour: "Warning: Watching this program has shown to make viewers dumber than not watching anything."

Time for someone to petition the FCC to challenge Fox's license to broadcast. Nothing they do is in the public interest.
The FCC can't do it. Only state and local can. FOX is not a licensed broadcast organization. It's a cable network.

This conversation is exactly why Mehdi Hasan should have been chosen as host of MTP not Kristen Welker. Mehdi would've held these politicians feet to the fire like he did Vivek without fear or favor. There's not enough journalist out there that does that. NBC missed a huge opportunity by not choosing Mehdi. It's not too late to change hosts.

As much as I'd like for the judge to pass summary judgment in favor of Dominion, I hope for a jury trial so Fox hosts and management are forced to testify.
Fox should be required to show their trial on their network so their viewers can see the truth on Fox for the first time.

I love what Mehdi said about using peoples' quotes against them. I use a very similar trick; I use their words but attribute it to someone they dislike or disagree with, and watch them tear their own arguments apart. It's a great feeling.

We have laws forbidding manufacturers from calling their product "cheese" when it doesn't meet a threshold of content... Yet we allow networks to call their product "news" even after actual proof that the content doesn't meet the standards.

Thank you! It's not gotcha, it's called ACCOUNTABILITY! We need to hold public figures accountable which would cut down on insane rhetoric and misinformation. If someone's views have changed, that's fine, but as a public servant, explain how you got there and take responsibility

To me Biden’s biggest strength is his age and knowledge of how the institutions are supposed to work and how to put things back when possible. He’s accomplished a ton, because he knows how it works and how to navigate it.
While the former guy was, and remains, clueless about everything. Name it, he's clueless about it.
He's a moderate republican from 20 years ago but the reds can't even handle it.
Corruption is everywhere but seems not different from the last 20 years of leaders.
Need new blood, but no party seems to have it.
Biden was exactly the right guy at the right time. Experienced and grounded in reality.
That's why the right don't like him because he has all this experience and knows how to work around the bs conservatives push forth to get things done for the American people. In other words, Biden's getting to his agenda in spite of the republican party.
The story of how Biden organized the Free World to push back against Russia is not widely known. Biden was defending Ukraine before Ukraine knew it was going to be attacked. If Biden stops or reverses the rise of Fascism in the World, he will be the greatest president of the US. And he is slowly doing it.

Love that about setting traps for people with their own quotes. It is one thing if a person can show they have learned *new* evidence so that they have changed their position as laid out in an old quote - that would be fine. They can explain why they now have a new position that is different from the position in the old quote. But if they just try to deny the old quote or just stumble around, then they are sunk in their own lies.
I would rather have Joe Biden being pushed around in a wheelchair, than the line up of alternatives on either side of the aisle.
He has so much knowledge to impart, he is a true statesman and name one person that even comes close at this point.

Entertainment shows try to please their audiences. Information shows present information. If a network uses the term 'news' they should present information according to Journalism standards.
Sometimes I feel a slight gut wrenching fear about how much actual news we've heard over the years as opposed to the latest train wreck 'entertainment'.

One of Brian's talents as an interviewer may seem like a small thing, but I think it's an important one: When he smiles, he smiles with his entire face, which makes him appear trustworthy and open.
He is so good, I admire him and so did MSNBC. He's moving on up.

I used to say I wish we had Someone like Medhi in the USA. Then he moved here. I don't know why American interviewers are so timid. I have seen him methodically interview people in England and he does not let people off the hook with untrue statements or stupidity. Most interviews don't even follow up and just move onto the next question.
