I heard exactly the problem. "No I didn't read the indictments you can't tell me anything it wouldn't benefit me." So learning to these people would be detrimental to what they believe.
It's funny how ambiguous it is to which side you think the truth would be detrimental to.
Many Trump supporters are populists which means they have a deep mistrust for institutions. They deeply mistrust information that comes out of these institutions, and rather than listen to the lies they perceive, many would often rather not listen at all. It isn't about the information being detrimental to what is believed. It is about trust.

That's actually a great point, I've never thought about how people see it like a sports team thing. I think having team colors and groups can make people more rigid and less likely to research people (outside of whether they're democrat or republican) and vote for people outside of their team. When I had to vote for governor, I read each and every candidate's statements. I highlighted parts, kept notes, and didn't pay too much attention to what "side" they were on.

Even multi-party countries for a coalition government that actually does the work, and when they can't for a coalition, they government fails and calls for new elections.

Trump's energy policies created an energy independent US. Energy prices were lower, utility bills were lower, interest rates were lower for easy borrowing. As an American I do not know why people are like this. I don't think it can fully be explained by lack of education, bad culture, bad family upbringing, or religion. Our problem is the largest group of Americans are the non-voters.
About 95 million Americans didn't vote in 2020, and that was the best turnout in a long time..
With the electoral college and how states run their elections, one vote does not equate mathematically to one vote in another state.
Their votes count more. These people represent barley 20 % of the American electorate. When less then half show up that's all it takes. Before we get to a primary system that rewards the most extreme and districts that are drawn to be uncontested in general elections.
Simply put. Liars, cheats, and theives aggrieved at the very idea of accountability to anyone but themselves

My father (who's a trump supporter) openly said that people who protest the isreal Palestine war should be arrested even if it violates the 1st Amendment. He also supports January 6th as they were "protected by the 1st amendment." Trump supporters don't wish for a free country anymore.

It was instructive to find out that the man being interviewed would support the death penalty for women who have abortions. I would ask "Who else would you implement the death penalty for?" (maybe Clinton, Obama, Dr Fauci etc). "In a democracy you are allowed to disagree. Do you believe in democracy?"
I'm not sure President Trump's platform has ever been the death penalty for women who have abortions.

These are much more insightful questions. Countless interviews of trump supporters go down like in this video, but there are no insightful questions ever asked. They always just say, "I support trump no matter what, and I wash myself with a rag on a stick." And the reporter always just side eyes the camera guy, but nothing is learned about where/why this all came from and where it is possibly going.

Biden was observing COVID protocol. Trump was defying the recommendations of the CDC. Biden's "small crowds" were planned that way. Many caught COVID at Trump's indoor rallies, and a few died, but as it turned out the outdoor rallies were not as likely to transmit the virus.
