  • In this episode of Minutes With, we sat down with United States Senator and former presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders. Senator Sanders shares his fears surrounding a possible Donald Trump's re-election in 2024, and why this might signal the end of global democracy as we know it. He addresses the concerns around President Biden's memory, and offers his vision for an ideal future amidst pressing global challenges including climate change, inflation, and future pandemics.

You failed to pin Senator Sanders on what his idea of "Democracy" is? Bernie is on the public record supporting felons voting, even the Boston Bomber from prison. The truth is Bernie like most of his Jackass Party want "Everyone to vote", even illegals and other non-citizens.
Bernie was the Mayor of Burlington VT, have you seen Burlington VT today, it is almost as bad as San Francisco, Oakland Portland and Seattle. Americans are not moving to Democrat run Sanctuary Cities, they are running away from them.
Bernie never created a product in is life and got rich enough to buy 3 homes in VT on his "Public Service". Bernie says billionaires lie and cheat to earn their money, but take a good look at Maxine Waters, Al Green, Nancy Pelosi, and the Egyptian Senator.
Bernie cares more about the so-called Palestinians than US. Sanders is not a real Jew.
Bernie's idea of an immigration policy is let everyone come and in, and register them to vote.
I doubt my post will last more than a hour before you or RUclips remove it.

Because he's passionate about being part of improving the lives of the American people. He doesn't ever ever off that track like the others do. He is sharp, clear and has worked really hard for what he believes in. He wants the working class to have a fair shot at creating wealth and security for themselves, which we historically have not had. Hard working Americans keep making corporations richer while normal folks can barely make ends meet. That's the American hamster wheel we're all on and Bernie wants that to change.

@@cameronspence4977 Well … the world’s capitalist mostly (not entirely) conservative super wealthy oligarchy and their rich enablers have had about half a century of entirely uninterrupted and unmitigated support from the political mainstream and what have they accomplished? What have they done to make things better economically for the entirety of any single one of the big neoliberal capitalist democracies that protects these oligarchs and gives them safe homes to live in, huge semi-educated and semi-stable populations of consumer societies as “markets” to sell the shit they make and now “services” they provide, and “employees” / contractors that them provide a base of labor for them and … most importantly …a the modern military power to protect themselves and their ideology to use as a “home-base” and also from which they can safely project their huge economic power and spread their oligarchic ideology and neoliberal capitalist worldview to other places, trade with those too strong easily to conquer and colonize new lands too weak to resist, for resources, new human sources of labor and markets.
How have they done for us, for the common working people since 1980, since Reagan, Thatcher (and Mulroney in Canada and there were others in the conservative English speaking world and satellites of the USA of course), the Chicago boys and theirs radical reactionary “trickle down” supply side neoliberal economic theories of Friedman and Hayak who all camouflaged themselves in the American (and British and Canadian and …) flag and pretended they represented an effort to spread American “freedom” and “democracy”. It was really a neoliberal capitalist economic colonizing program.
The great promise of progress the US thrived on for generations came to a screeching halt by the end of the 1990s. With the fall of the Soviet Union the notion of generational progress for the average US / British / any capitalist citizen had ceased to serve its political purpose to wealthiest and the upper classes and ceased to be discussed or pursued. Wages of course stagnated. Life span had been on a steady rapidly increasing curve flattened and have now even declined for parts of the US population. We have seen the first generation in a long time who are less educated than their parents. We have transitioned from a middle class who exists from savings and has assets to one that lives on credit (debt to the financial institutions owned by the upper class). Science once seen as great and miraculous pursuit bringing new discoveries and miraculous new technologies is now cynically denied of any truth value by half the population. The news media went from non-capitalist serious minded responsible people, trusted guardians of truth and watchdogs of the public interest, under pressure from rich capitalist owners arguing the news must be profitable like everything else on T.V. rich conservative oligarchs like Rupert Murdoch transformed a portion of the “news” to cynical purveyors spectacles of crass conservative “populist”personal opinion and propaganda posing as “news”. The truth seekers in exposing and discussing the propagandistic transformation of their competitors by necessity at times seemed to mirror them. The media trust had been broken by rich capitalists caring only about the money they could make with their media asset rather than the purpose this asset had traditionally served (ironic for people who so loved “conservatism ”).
The great technological miracles of the era were the internet and the desktop computer which transformed and shrank into the mobile computer and phone devices and the communication networks they work with. The internet was going to make for free communication with anyone around the world without government censorship and it was predicted would usher in a new era of working class power and prosperity since such direct communication without the moderating influence of having to pay vast sums of money to communicate would be revolutionary and would make permanent peace between people only a short time away. This was truly the promise that was on offer. I remember it well in the early 1990s.
But the capitalists quickly gained control of what was supposed to be a free and open source technology. And when the rich oligarchic class smells the opportunity to make profit, establish “new markets” or find means of controlling potential employees or contractors, they colonized the technology and transformed it quickly to suit their capitalist needs, sought to flood the space with unneeded patents and “intellectual property”, and sought partnership with governments to establish as much traditional censorship and surveillance of the communications on “their internet” claiming the need for national security (for those authoritarian nations more concerned about that) or their rights to monitor the use of their patented devices and intellectual property. By the end of the 00s decade it was clear the colonization and transformation of the internet was complete and there would be no working class or middle class revolution coming from the free and open internet. The rich owned it … everything about it. And its purpose was to make the rate at which their wealth was increasing and their advantage over the working class and the poor was increasing at an even faster rate than it had been in the 1980s and 1990s, and that any new technology that could be added into the global internet network would cause an exponential rate increase yet again separating the top 2% from the rest of the world’s population in terms of assets and wealth.
These people … the billionaire class … and their “conservative” political enablers … and indeed any other ideological neoliberal capitalists, anyone who sided with this kind of wealth creation and accumulation no matter their social or cultural political views (yup … all the rich Hollywood “liberals”, rich BLM music artists, rich phony feminists, prominent wealthy LGBTQ activists, well known wealthy globe trotting celebrity environmentalists … all of them … if you’re rich and don’t prominently decry the capitalist system of wealth production and accumulation and inheritance and side with the working class as vocally as your personal “cause” … then you’re not an ally no matter your social justice position) and in the top 2 percent or so have had more than their fair time in charge to prove anything to the rest of us. They lie. To protect their wealth and privilege they pretend to be interested in the populist agenda. Or the “liberal issue” nowadays even. The smartest ones say little or nothing at all and remain in the shadows and remain in the background spreading their influence, trying to chip away at the institutions of democracy and working class power until they can no longer defend themselves any more. We are nearly st this point now. That is why today we see a monstrosity and ludicrous “politician” like Trump. He represents the generations of the dreams of the rich to be rid of democracy as a pain in their asses, having to be responsive to the interests of the working people. A tiny little push more and effective democracy and oversight of the activities of the rich oligarchy could be gone for a generation with the election of Trump in 2024. That’s their fucking wet dream. It mustn’t be allowed to happen. Biden and the democrats are barely distinguishable with respect to furthering the interests of the working class and radically overhauling the USA and making the middle class into the wealthy, productive and prosperous and peaceful and innovative group it was once, and it could be again … within twenty years with effective leadership and diligent efforts to undo the damage done by half a century of oligarchic malfeasance.
Half a century they’ve had to prove their worth and the worth of this economic philosophy posturing as a political one. It’s produced massive wealth and income inequalities in the home countries that gave rise to it back in 1980, as well as the social instability, threats to our own institutions, and internal violent division that tends to follow rising wealth inequality as the oligarchy tries to preserve itself and misdirect the attention of the working class and direct the anger, division and violence against itself, rather than permit all the rising economic class resentment to be directed squarely at the source of the inequality; the numerically minority but exceedingly wealthy and powerful oligarchy itself. A peaceful transition and redistribution is easily accomplished yet historically very unlikely to be achieved. Yet here is one way the internet and the devices so effectively deployed against us and to sell us shit, might just prove to be helpful to reduce the amount or likelihood of violent conflict required to break down the monopolies, redistribute the wealth and assets, and change the tax code.

This'll be cakewalk, he has 0 political history let alone probably never ACTUALLY did his geography homework in 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th grade, just either paid somebody with his hefty allowance from his absent father, or threatened somebody to do it, using somebody paid with his allowance (probably the latter)... Why, just because we FINALLY had a black president, let's just get a woman in there while we're at it? Not saying this in any disrespect to Mrs. Clinton, she's a wonderful person but Bernie is the MAN man..... He would've carried us to such better heights rather than divide and set us back, with his welcoming demeanor and (surprisingly at his age) knowledge of the ever changing tech sector...

Bernie Bros pretend to care about the poor, but they're very generous people.... with OTHER People's money as long as they don't have to pay for or live with their own policies. The man is a fraud. But he appeals to young people who have no life experience and have never paid taxes, and believe that the world owes them free everything just because they're alive.

Nerdwriter1 did a phenomenal analysis in a video essay comparing the linguistic and articulation capacity of the 2014 candidates (bernie, trump, clinton) and sorted them into the grade level they spoke. Trump scored the lowest and Bernie the highest.
Which is the unfortunate reason I believe this beautiful man wasn’t elected (aside from the DNC stuff). To understand Bernie’s plans, ethics, motivations etc, you have to actually take the time to listen (especially if you are maybe less educated or already radicalized to his opposition).
Bernie isn’t great for entertaining sound bites or bate statements that evoke intense reactions. He’s calm, collected, eloquent, and nuanced. Which is not ideal in an age of sensational news and TikTok. Such a pity. This man could have made a major impact as president.?

People with 5 superyachts are directly linked to homeless people - as in people with 5 superyachts CREATE homeless people. Why? Because money that should have went to people with smallest wealth instead goes to people with 5 superyachts and that is why we have homeless people.
In other words, homeless people are an indication of greed. The more homeless there are, the more greed there is. Those two are directly linked.

“Of” is a preposition indicating distance, derivation, or belonging. The word you are looking for is “have.” Just remember that after helping verbs, you need an active verb and not a preposition, my guy. You Bernie Bros may want to work on basic grammar before attempting to give any more lectures.

Interesting to hear that he thinks there shouldn't be a age cap on US presidency, and yet there is a age requirement of 35. If you believe that you should "Be able to vote for whomever you want to vote for, regardless of age" then this should also be taken off, or at least down to the same age as voting.

Compared to other political figures Bernie's understanding of social media, technology and meme culture is insane despite his age. There are politicians in the US government who struggle to understand what the internet even is and he is over here understanding the complexity of social media interaction and its impact on public perception.
