that sine wave trick is actually so nice, been trying it out on some "less than ideally" recorded electric guitars for pop punky stuff to clean it up a tad and add clarity. Thanks
One thing to keep in mind when using Logic and side chaining soothe is that it doesn't account for the large amount of latency it introduces (Logics problem) So if you use this technique to duck bass frequencies for example from the kick, its noticeably out of time. Oeksound points this out on their site.
@@alexsayers971 It has not. From what i have read its been a bug for quite some time. I really do hope it gets fixed as it makes sidechaining any plugin that requires delay comp a problem.
why is the rest of the instrumental changing as you engage soothe? like, the acoustic guitars in stereo are clearly becoming brighter. the overall track as well. Are you applying soothe to the whole mix?
You dont really show us how to do the sine wave trick @SageAudio. Please make another video elaborating in more detail, and I will be ecstatic to tune in
I wish the Soothe2 manual explained all of the oddly named presets. It doesn’t . I even emailed the developers and they didn’t have an answer for me either. Is there anywhere that shows the practical uses for all of the presets that have weird titles ?
Thanks for watching! It's pretty CPU intensive when using the maximum settings, but it was designed well so it's not too CPU aggressive at normal settings.
3:26 I'm not sure about that trick, and don't get me wrong, all your videos are treasure mines. But the problem I see with notching out out of key notes is it also kills the harmonic content of each in-key note. Like if I sing a C, every existing note (harmonic series) also ring. So I'd recommend that if someone uses this trick, don't crank the ducking too much. I personally wouldn't use it at all but it could have its uses
Soothe 2. Gullfoss is nice, but it's not as useful as Soothe 2. For cheaper alternatives you might also want to look at DSEQ 3 (Soothe 2 alt) and Teote (Gullfoss alt).
Thanks for your answers guys! Since i mainly mix stuff and Soothe is quite versatile, i'm going to get Soothe. Hopefully they make a good price on Black Friday ^^ but i guess it will still cost 150 bucks
If you demonstrate Eq on vocal part and, please use Vocal part, that is continuing, and in processing switch off and results, because is big pause after switch off and on.
bro it's unbelievable. Every time i want to search for something specific, you upload the exact thing...
Big Sage is watching you 🦻

Has this been fixed on updated LPX and running on M1?

Has it been fixed by now?
This happens just if you have low latency mode activated. Turn it off and there is no latency problem with any sidechain
10 ways? Dang.. now I really need this lol sick masters btw :)
That reverb trick is very clever
Can you make a video how to mix classical solo piano music with using Soothe? Fabfilter, waves etc.
Wow great video, can you please create a detailed video explaining the topic of Remove Irrelevant Notes on Vocal? really please and thank you.
Subscribed. Your videos are so well put together and presented. Thank you for sharing your hard work. Cool song in the video also!
Thank you for making a short and thoroughly explained tutorial
Thanks for this video. It would be great if the before/after demos use the same sound segment, helps telling the changes better.
This is awesome...Really helpful!
It could be my unexperienced musical ear but I don't feel any much of a difference on balanced sooth 2 parameters

Best channel! Keep going 💪 ✨️

very nice advance tips !
Good review 👍What's the song ?
Great! Now, how CPU aggressive is the plugin? Thanks! ❤

Incredible video 👍

I agree! Made this one a while ago, and definitely see more of the downside of overusing this plugin. Thanks for watching!
ooo what's this song?! i really like it!
Would be interesting to see what a vocal sounds like if you notch all of the IN key notes out of it, leaving only out of key frequencies
That's a cool idea! I wonder what it would sound like as well. Probably less in tune.
It'll surely sound weird and unhumanly since the microtonal slurs and ties will disappear as well.
Thank you sir !!!
what is the name of the song you are mixing in this video?
Really great video! What is the song heard in the background when you speak? Really love the sound of the riff
Thank you!
Can't decide whether to buy Soothe 2 or Gullfoss Eq on Black Friday (for mixing and quick masters).. what would you guys get?
Definitly soothe 2. Because it gives you overall more presets and workflows
I got both
Soothe 2. Gullfoss is nice, but it's not as useful as Soothe 2.
For cheaper alternatives you might also want to look at DSEQ 3 (Soothe 2 alt) and Teote (Gullfoss alt).
Gullfoss better use for mastering, not mixing imo, so get soothe if you want for mixing
Thanks for your answers guys!

I want to listen to the full track please.
amazing!
So, do I use this instead of eq?
No, it's still a good idea to use EQ. It'll give you more control and also offers amplifying frequencies, whereas Soothe 2 only attenuates.
The song you're using, is it released? What's the title?
Is this a multipurpose tool?
Can u do a Video on ( Smooth Operator ) by Baby Audio? ( TYIA )
What's the title of the song please
SONG NAME?

😊
This plugin is TopG
Am I the only one who can't really hear a difference?
No, we using bedroom recording, they use high quality everything.
Actually I don't hear any difference..
You need headphones, I m using sennheiser 599HD and hear difference
Wtf 4:00?
It's a fun technique!
This dusty time
Every soothe 2 video seems like a scam to me. This plugin is useless for most people most of the time.
Would be a cool video if you wouldn't interrupt your main content with asking for subs, showcasing your partner and other stuff....
NOVA is free😁
does it do justice like soothe2 does tho? persuade me to save the X amount of £££...
@@TzoHill just search by typing "tdr nova sidechain" you'll see much of it.
@@kunee51 thanks!
