BTW, just wanted to mention that batocera doesn't have built-in TDP controls the same way as JELOS. It has to be done via a shell file in the backend of batocera, so for many it isn't the most "user friendly" thing. Some of us over on discord are trying to get the batocera team to include it in a future update, since it's an incredibly useful feature!
PS2 does work pretty well in batocera!

That was a very enjoyable video with plenty of content and details so well done guys! Still a pass from me as for price=performance so I'm willing to wait for a newer Windows device since Steam Deck still isn't shipping to Australia and the scalping prices make it way too expensive... Happy Gaming!
Thanks! Its definitely a touch pricey for the performance, but the OS options like JelOS make it really unique. I hope you enjoy our future reviews too!
I will say though I totally agree about the price and the single channel ram, I think if they would have maybe even just had 8 gigs populated on front of the board allowing the customer at least put an extra 8 gigs in a back slot it would definitely improve performance. And I totally agree the USB port is super freaking handy I know some people are upset that they didn't include a SD slot, but you can always just get an SD to USB and plop it in that way.
What are some of the most DEMANDING games that this device can run without too many issues?
@@OtomoTenzi well I did try metal gear solid 5 ground zero and it work pretty well.
@@mrbub8980 OK, do ya know if it can also run any of the old Fallout games from the 360 or PS3?
@@OtomoTenzi I know it plays fallout New Vegas well from another video, but I haven't tried it myself but I will be tonight when I get off work, but I tested fallout 4 and Skyrim special edition and they're running around 25 to 30, At 720p lowest settings. I had to map the attack buttons to l1 and r1 because righteously it's awkward trying to use the triggers with the thumbsticks at the same time. But I imagine any older Bethesda title should run fine on it.
@@mrbub8980 Then that shure sounds like it should prolly run OK, since those 360/PS3 games are much older and alot less demanding on the processors... Hey, does this thing have enough buttons to play all the newer games? Cuz I thought that it gives you like at least 4 face buttons and 4 triggers? Just curious!
Im debating getting one. Cloud gaming for aaa. Play some older games and having windows on the go without having to side install on another device for basic functions would be super for me

Does it run Amiga or C64 games well? How can they be played on this device without a keyboard?
Ah there's a keyboard button on the right side that brings up a virtual keyboard, sorry we should have covered that. And yes, it plays Amiga and C64 without issue.
@@retrohandhelds Oh definitely, with like a whoppin' 8-16 GIGARAMS of memory? A virtual keyboard sounds nice! That was the only issue that I was concerned about, cuz I wanna be able to play ALL of those old classic D&D rpgs on this thing...

@@retrohandhelds Oh, one other thing BTW... Do you know if it can run fairly recent PC-based RPGs like Legend of Grimrock 1&2? They NEVER released it on any of the mainstream consoles, which is a shame... It kinda plays like the old classic AD&D Eye of The Beholder, or Dungeon Master series (which I highly suspect will also require a keyboard and mouse to play).

For me, it's pretty much a device that "I can't get the steam deck right now and I can get this now, so I'll settle for a much lesser than device compared to what's to come in 3-6 months". Phew!
It has a smaller battery than my Odin base. Lack of analog shoulder buttons at THAT price point? I can't really play racing games, and no sd card? WTF? How much does it cost? I feel this device is overprice just because of the time, what's available and they come out with a new color and more storage when the system really can't play AAA games that takes more storage, like.. lipstick on a pig? Hello! lol.
Single channel, just.. ugh... Their heart isn't into this. Don't they tests their devices out when it comes to ergonomics? Are they hiring an alien with elongated fingers to test their devices or what?
Cut the price down by 40%, that's fair. I wouldn't give it ... 420? Lol! Take off 100 I say. That's kind of a pass...maybe a C+? 420 out of 600...
