I'm on carnivore. My focus isn't on weight loss now. I'm doing this feel better and rid my body of inflammation. Since I hit 40 I noticed how hard it is to keep weight under control. I have lost some serious weight in last 5 weeks. But, I have been doing intermittent fasting on purpose to reach atophagy to heal. No refined sugar, no carbs, no seeded oils, and fine to eat eggs, steal turkey, fish, seafood, and plenty of butter. Its been over 5 weeks. My moods changed in less than two weeks. I'm shocked by how much better I feel. My skin is clearing up, and I just feel so much better. I have a few autoimmune conditions and my immune system was weak as heck. I went on carnivore out of desperation. Almost died from covid and had it twice. Sick and tired of being sick and tired. Am doing more exercise too.
Sounds perfect Have been trying to so this for a few months and If no refined sugar do you have any sugar at all and if you do what is it .Thank you.

Dhru love the conversation. Thank you for bringing It down to reality. When you asked her about how much protein a woman should be eating. She mentioned a 120 pounds woman. You rephrased the question and made it more relatable to women over 40 someone's who is 140 -160 pounds. Lets be real, the majority of women over 40 is not a 120 pounds.
Thanks for doing that.
Exactly! I’m 169 pounds and 54
164 here and 50. But hoping to move on down to the 140s. That’s where I don’t think about my weight and body image issues relax. Don’t need to be in the 120s. I want to be strong 💪 and muscle is heavy 😉
Yep, I used to be 132, then menopause hit!
@@PJwithheartSame ☹️
I agree
Money allows people to eat well, afford yoga classes and training, get face lifts, vacation in the sun. Life is great IF you have money.
also having time to plan or cook
well...there are free yoga snd pilates programs on Apple TV. Walking 1:34 is free. Resistance bands are cheap. Eliminating junk food, take out, Starbucks, and processed foods leaves $$ for lean protein, veggies and limited fruit. Meditation is free. Hiking is free. I have a 70 hour a week job, two kids, and a 3 hour commute roundtrip 3 x a week. It is doable,
You can do a lot, without spending money. Be creative!! Push ups, Squats, fill 2 large, empty detergent bottles with water, & carry them up & down the stairs, or around the house, eat /cook whole very low carb meals. Get out in the sun, & get good sleep, ECT…..ALL FREE!!! 😊
Walking and fasting are both FREE and extremely effective. No money is not an excuse when it comes to health.
Beans and vegetables are cheap. And yoga is free via RUclips. Eating out is expensive here in the UK. Walking is free.
This is the best discussion on health and weight management I've listened to recently. In my mid fifties, past menopause, do resistance training, walking, eat healthy for the most part, a litt yoga as well., everything in moderation. I am the same weight Ive been since my twenties. The magic formula is consistency, no crazy diets, drink your water, and try to move as much as possible. Great video, thank you !
I eat alot of protein and I'm still hungry for junk food. Baked goods
@@janetpaul7357 You need to up your good fats daily intake along with the quality protein. Buy good quality meat with fat (not low fat), and start eating bigger portions if your not getting satiated. Oils to consider more of: Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, MCT Oil, Olive Oil Hemp Oil, Organic Butter, Avocados, Cheese, Yoghurt, etc.
You're blessed to have had a great start in life, sounds like and not struggled with weight. Maybe people have unattractive thyroid and their lives started on formula and then simple, processed carbohydrates. There's a real struggle for most of the world. In glad you are so blessed to never have had to struggle to stay fit, but just moving more doesn't help many people. 😢
Glucose Goddess book also very helpful
▪︎ Cut carbs to below 20 *_total_* grams per day (the lower, the better)
▪︎ Take iodine daily - 2 drops of Ludol's 2% iodine (not 2 droppers, two drops)
▪︎ Stop cardio (except sprints), lift heavy - if you can lift it more than 7 times in a row, it's not heavy enough
▪︎ Sleep more
Those are the highest impact things you can do.
Cutting carbs to below 20 total grams per day is the #1 thing you can do *_by far._*
I lost 30lbs in 3 months just from dropping the carbs.
What if it’s belly fat you want to lose, not weight? I’m in good shape except my belly has now grown
@@Traceifyco *_Generally speaking,_* if you are "fit" everywhere but are gaining fat around your waist/belly, that is a sign of *_chronically high blood sugar levels._*
It's called "visceral fat."
Until you lower your blood sugar levels, that fat will stay with you no matter what you do.
Well, if you start doing ultra-marathons or if you get liposuction, you'll get rid of it but I doubt you're interested in doing something extreme.
The simplest, guaranteed way to get rid of the visceral fat around your midsection is to keep your bloos sugar levels low for 30 to 90 days.
In other words, _*reducing carbs to less than 20 TOTAL grams per day is the fastest, safestest, and most consistent way to eliminate the kind of fat you are talking about.*
⚠️ *CAUTION* ⚠️
If you are used to eating lots of carbs, suddenly reducing your carb intake can trigger sugar withdrawals - you might get headaches, mood swings, cravings, etc. for up to a week. (It's like what happens if you suddenly stop drinking caffeine).
I have plenty of great resources if you are interested in what I'm recommending.
I lost 30lbs in 90 days by keeping my carbs below 5 grams per day. I definitely experienced sugar withdrawals because I did cut the carbs suddenly.
Anyway, if you decide to ignore your high blood sugar levels, you can still lose the fat but it will require intense effort, and as soon as you cut back on the effort, the fat will start coming back.
The price to keep off visceral fat is either (a) constant high-effort exercise or (b) giving up on most of the yummy, addictive carbs.
@reaplays8851 can you give a day of eating 🙏 please?
@@sweetsweet2807 I aim to eat less than 10 *total* grams of carbs per day.
I usually eat only twice a day because my meals are so filling.
I eat whenever I’m hungry - I don’t stick to any schedule
I *never* snack. If I’m hungry, I eat a meal.
Here are some example meals that I commonly eat:
Please note that you can add eggs to any of these dishes whenever you feel like it.
Sometimes I add eggs, sometimes I don’t.
Also, I take water or carbonated water with my meals most of the time.
I don’t use any artificial sweeteners in my drinks because it triggers my sugar addiction.
Ribeye steak (salted)
- about 3 /4 to 1 inch thick
- cooked medium rare on cast iron pan
+ 1 / 4 onion sauteed in butter
+ slice of melted cheese
Ground beef (salted)
- cook as much as you want (easy way to make a lot of leftovers)
- browned in cast iron pan
- Use the highest fat content available
+ onion powder
+ garlic powder
Brisket (salted and peppered)
- buy whole brisket
- leave all the fat on
- coat generously with salt and pepper
- wrap it in aluminum foil so that no juices can leak out
- make sure there is an air pocket in the aluminum foil, don’t wrap it tightly around the brisket
- Set in oven for at least 6 hours at 250
- Make sure to place a large pot or dish under the brisket just in case it leaks juices
+ I like to chop up the brisket and mix it into scrambled eggs
+ I sometimes add Mexican sour cream on top (be careful of the carbs here though!!!)
+ I sometimes add butter-sauteed onions
Various Hamburgers (when I’m on the road)
- Order a burger
+ Add extra beef patties
- Remove the buns
- Make sure there are no sugary sauces
Chicken (or beef) vegetable soup
- make the soup (careful with high carb veggies like carrots and onions)
+ add butter to your bowl of soup or you will get hungry again really quickly
+ Sometimes I add cheese or sour cream
You can eat vegetables if you like them, but you don’t need them for nutrition (everything you need is in beef because cows eat vegetables).
Beware of high carb veggies like beats, carrots, onions, potatoes, etc
That’s pretty much what I eat most days.
You can eat seafood too. Sometimes my wife cooks up some shrimp and I douse them in butter and eat them.
Thank you!
No one is afraid of getting muscles. I wish trainers would stop saying women have that fear. They don't. It's just not wanting to do it like everyone else.

I once had a doctor tell me I needed to eat more fries and drink more gatorade (because I'm anemic). 🙄🤦🏻♀️ I tried it and felt disgusting.
I started eating more protein, intermittent fasting to autophagy, running and weight training for Spartans. Never felt better!! 💪🏼
That's not even foods to boost Iron. It's scary doctors have told me very misguided information. I have a blood disorder and causes anemia too. Didn't eat meat for personal choice for 20 + years felt awful the whole time. Tried eating just a small amount of animal protein and I felt like I had a completely different body.
It depends on what kind of anemia you have. No way a doctor will tell you to eat fries and Gatorade.
A doctor who tells a patient to eat fries and drink Gatorade sounds like a doctor who wants the patient dead! 🤣
Was that doctor an M.D. or a Ph.D.?
She is metabolically blessed. I have also done weights and exercised my whole life and eaten healthy. I am 55 and weigh 10 more pounds than where I always was 5’2” 135 lbs.. I always weighed between 115-125 lbs . It is very frustrating !

Intermittant Fasting with keto or carnivore is guaranteed weight loss.I've lost 6 lbs in the last 5 days .

This episode is a godsend! I wish every woman could watch this.
I am on my weight loss journey and have been delving into fasting and OMAD and the more I learned the more it didn’t make sense on how I could meet my macros. Especially protein and amino acids, which is way more important to me than autophagy and my metabolism overall.
I am currently doing 40g4x a day and can feel my body responding way better. It’s unfortunate that protein is not at the forefront when it comes to weight loss and overall health.
Thank you both!
Protein taxes my kidneys and causes me UTI problems.

Listening to this just after your interview with Sal and am so grateful for these podcasts that explain so much. When she spoke of opening lids I’ve noticed that same loss of strength and power. It’s not a good feeling to know you’re losing those things.
I love this entire video. May I also add, we are the ones social media, Worley view have focused so much on women’s looks vrs her health. We are targeted to look a certain weight, size and we are not beautiful at any age. We are bombarded to look a certain age as well or else we are washed up. We are not worthy. We are taught to look sexy, voluptuous, big, breasted, and big booty. There is so much coming at women to degrade women. It’s tough. Am glad we are hopefully shifting into health which will bring all women to a healthy weight as well.
She is so Speaking truth to me about tracking what you eat!...everything you eat. Being true to yourself is crucial to a healthy lifestyle. I strive to stay in a caloric deficit!

I am also on a strict budget, so homemade bone broth and cheaper meats & eggs are my go-to for protein Great tips! Thank you for this!
Love this woman, thanks for having her on, never heard of her until now, I'm 45 and boom the fat girl in me is trying to break out harder than ever. I've always depended on the same pattern of diet and workouts and now it isn't working as well as it used to...this was very informative.
Thanks for another great interview, Dhru. She's new to me and I really enjoyed it! I took a lot of notes. And even though I have a different perspective on a few things, I appreciate her all the more because it makes me want to do more research. I only wish that more of my loved ones were willing to listen to these podcasts. Many of them continue to get ill (SAD diet, medications, fear of fats, gorging on processed foods, believing everything their doctor tells them, etc.) and won't take their health into their own hands. I like Aging Powerfully! God bless.
Dhru you always provide us with relevant podcasts & you are the greatest host! It’s hard to believe this woman is 60 years old; JJ’s skin looks absolutely magnificent. Just goes to show how important nutrition, exercise & rest are all equally valuable for well rounded health.

@c.l.montoya2972 yes it’s amazing what Botox, fillers and a face lift can do with full makeup on top. Being a perfectly groomed role model at 60 after a life time of working out everyday and looking after her body is not the real world for most woman.
Many woman give birth to babies, they struggle to get their bodies back in shape, low energy not much time to themselves then go back to work and barely have time to look in a mirror.
I think she looks good to, but to be fair it’s her focus and business. To promote herself this way she’s selling her business as a yt influencer and gym instructor. It’s also her genetic make up to be tall and long limbed.

She looks so amazing at 60! Unbelievable ❤
Cannot really agree, yes face looks amazing but guess thats more due to good doctors and cosmetics 😉. If you look at her skin hands, arms etx it looks like she is 70+
I believe not bring carbs into home works. Another is for those who like to bake, switch to trying new recipes …take recipes with you to shop for ingredients. If no carbs in the home, you will eat right vegetables and proteins when hungry. I believe your discussion should have included “eating anxiety “ …need clever tricks for avoiding “eating anxiety”. ❤
Always been skinny fat…underweight…I could eat 4000 calories and not gain an ounce. At 46 I decided to start doing a 60 minute Pilates class 2x/week. In 3 months I gained 20 lbs but all in my belly and haven’t been able to get my flat belly back since. I’m convinced stress is the culprit.
What are you eating?
At 46, it's hormones and what you're eating. Im 48, I weighed the same as I did in high school, but now Im not skinny fat because I do strength training 3x a week. Like she said, lift weights, at home, it's free. I still have regular periods BTW.
Wow! Finally someone who sounds just like me! I've been thin my entire adult life (now 71 years old). It wasn't until last year that I started seeing belly fat and can't seem to get rid of it. I agree with you, that this is more than likely the result of a great deal of the stress i experienced in the last year and a half. I know that the answer isn't to eat less,, as I don't want to weight any less and actually would love to weigh more and gain some muscle mass. Wish I'd known about strength training 30 years ago, but we can only move forward from where we are. Self-compassion is key, as well as is finding ways to reduce your experience of stress. Sending you love and compassion. xo
Are you saying that pilates is stressful?
Perimenopause/menopause does this. .
It's a b!tch.
Can she just give simple answers?
Eat high quality, real food. Stop snacking, prioritize protein, resistance training.
Namaz is the best exercise, bending, squats stand up from the floor you found all in one worship. Muslims do it five times a day.
So happy to hear that being 100lbs over weight is NOT ok. It is a big lie.
Did not eat for 10 days, normal work days, cycling every day ~18mls. Not an easy time.......lost weight, what a surprise!
So i just gave birth 4 months ago and I have started going to the gym doing resistant and weight training. I gained so much during ky pregnancy and since I started gym I felt better and I saw improvements fast. The one tip I would like to share is every machine or weights you use, record it so you can see how much more or less set you do each time. I am also on keto and OMAD so its a serious routine im doing. I go to the gym only 3 times a week max and do some short trainings at home when I dont go to the gym. My target is to be fit, lose weight and feel strong by next year June.

This is a most informative and entertaining interview. Much appreciated!
The elephant in the room is poverty. Great ideas if you can afford it. Protein is $$$$. Obesity and poverty go hand in hand in North America. How can we help address food insecurity and obesity to move the needle on metabolic health.
Eat ground beef or very cheap cuts of meat and don’t eat those crap snacks
Education is key. Ppl in poverty can still eat better of they knew better. I was on ebt during covid and i still ate healthy. Cooking your own food instead of buying processed junk actually saves a bunch
Also sadly poverty and obesity aren't correlated in any other cultures but the western/Americanized ones. All other places it's malnourishment/underweight. That should speak volumes alone that its not really poverty that's the issue its the food and what we did to it
Protein is cheaper than a veggie diet, add fish and it is really costly. Go to he market, meat is the cheapest, good rice, yams, veggies ate expensive
I'm so glad you pointed that out and yes the elephant in the room I haven't worked for years and I'm like my boys want to bulk and I just want to be 40 and have bone mass when I'm 60 Oh lordy!!! Anyway but yeah I'm definitely thinking fish and protein shakes are cheap enough I'm going to read the rest the comments but good for you for saying that
i am doing it slowly
moving more
eating better 2x per day
restricted eating window
sleeping better
dealing with stress by doing less
started tracking calories and i can see where i was eating more than i thought 😮
Diet shift,excercises,sleep.
Thank you for mentioning the absurd of the food pyramid. If I ever hear anyone recommend eating according to it, I switch them off real fast.
Fasting doesn’t ruin your metabolism, fasting repairs your metabolism. Not too long of course, but short term a day or two, and intermittent fasting will give you tons of energy and when you eat it’s gone in no time.
No one has proclaimed that fasting will 'ruin your metabolism' - including JJ Virgin, either in this interview, or elsewhere.
Fasting is a tool for sick metabolic people. Someone heath in slight caloric deficit will be better than fasting destroying muscles
She ain’t a virgin though her last name implies.
She definitely said fasting destroys metabolism. She looks like she never as deal with fat in her life. Genetics count too
Thyroid patients should not fast
Not true that fasting messes up one's metabolism. The list of benefits to fasting is almost endless. SCIENCE OF FASTING DOCUMENTARY is a good resource to start off with.
Yes and Dr Jason Fung's work on One Meal A Day (OMAD) is awesome. Fasting works, but takes discipline.
Why does she say that "that ship has sailed" when it comes to building bone density in the 60's? I know several that have reversed their ostopenia/osteoporosis on a low oxalate animal based diet! Oxalate expert Sally K Norton is one of them. Check out her book Toxic superfoods - How oxalate overload is making you sick and how to get better. Life changing information!🎉
I believe she’s coming at it from a ‘prevention is better than cure’ framework.
I’m tired of people slamming Pilates. I started my membership 3 years ago my muscles are constantly sore from the challenge. My bone density is perfect. I’m 57.
Anecdote about semaglutide. For me it was catabolic for muscle. I'm 5'5 147lbs and lifetime tracker, weight lifter, spin etc. I use a bmi scale at my gym. In an effort to move the needle to get to 130, I tried the drug for 1month. I lost 5lbs, but 2 lbs was LEAN MUSCLE, and my body fat % actually increased. So mad. I use a tracker and got around 100grams of protein and lifted about 4 times a week until the last week when I was exhausted. It's not for close- to- goal females, and when I see the celebrities on it, to me they look like they've lost muscle too. Ozempic =muscle loss. Really bad news...... Don't do it ladies!
I was wondering about this. I've worked so hard to add muscle and I don't want to lose it just to drop 10 lbs.
@@hockeymomavalon2499 exactly! I'm back to trying to lift a bit heavier, getting in 120-130 grams of protein and doing a bit more high intensity cardio. It was an interesting experience in that I appreciate my energy so much after that, and perhaps the wisdom of my body.....
@OnTheMuffin well thank you because I am definitely not going to try it now. I think I'll continue the same as you. Lift heavy, hiit and burn this extra fluff the old fashioned way lol.
Good luck to you!
It’s true…😢 Ozempic makes you waste your muscle… it’s bad news for women over 45! It sags..
My nephew got on it and when my son saw him , he said he looked sick.
I'm 40 years old and has Parkinson's Disease. I love fasting, especially 3-5 day water fasting. It helps minimize my symptoms when I'm in Ketosis.
Also, to prevent glucose spikes, I thought we're supposed to eat non-starchy vegetables first then protein and fat.. I'm so confused
I had a little problem about this conversation talking so much about calories (we don’t eat heat energy, we eat food with or without nutrition). But the biggest thing was saying eat fillet instead of ribeye. That is a very bad call if you are on a carnivore lifestyle
Actually (fellow carni here) she didn't say EAT rib eye/ fillet, she was saying how your own muscles look (esp referring to legs). You want your muscles to look like fillet not rib eye. I heard her say that twice. In reference to exercising for body composition, not to eating. But I'm with you on no carbs. She is going for fibre & veg which we don't bother with.
Good job interviewing and having her explain things she took for granted folks were familiar with.
For years, I’ve been worried about my waist size. Even at my thinnest I still had a large waist. It was flat, but larger than others finally when I had to get a colonoscopy the physician told me I had an extra 2 feet of gut. I wonder how many other people have that situation. Does that mean that they don’t have as much visceral stomach fat as it looks
That's interesting
This was next level. Packed with amazing info. JJ is an incredible teacher. The title does not even give the comprehensive subject matter justice. So so good. ❤
What a fantastic lady! It was very inspiring interview! I loved it till the very last minute! ❤
Omg!! Thank you for the information on Ozempic. I was not given any direction other than eat better and workout. I did decide to go added sugar free, eating more vegetables. I started walking and some resistance training. Again thank you for the information!
Great podcast! Glad to hear this from a woman’s perspective 🫶🏾
WOW - just packed with helpful tips!! Thank you 😍 I tend to combine diet styles as my tools for health. I use low carb, and IF. Now, need to start lifting heavy things!! THX again, love this!
should be more precise. protein alone won't build muscle if we don't provide amino acids, there are eight of them needed for protein to build muscle. for example, whey protein without amino acids is only 1% absorbable
Dude. Protein consists of amino acids. They're not different things.
There is no such thing as 'whey protein without amino acids'.
I'm not sure, what you were trying to say, but the way you wrote your comment, it doesn't make sense.
58:11 -58:30 mention of Twiggy. Stunning ! I have said that for years. Born in ‘66 it messed my world up ‘71-2020! Thank you !
Thank you JJ. I lost 43 lbs on the virgin diet. I stayed on the diet past the 21 days (about 6 months) because I was losing weight so fast that I didn't want to stop. I eventually could not digest eggs Not sure if it was due to the diet but I do miss eggs. Do you have any insight into why my enzymes no longer digest eggs. Thanks
Did you try only the yolks for eggs. Many people have problems with egg whites
Because you took them out for a long time, your body stopped making the enzymes required for digesting them.
Test the eggs for being spoiled..
@@bellagdur9786 sounds 'logical', but no, I doubt VERY much that your suggestion has anything to do with this issue..
Have you tried reintroducing them slowly? Like, just half an egg at a time? Or just the egg yolk?
Personally, I've found, that I have no issues eating hard boiled eggs, but scrambled or fried eggs tend to make me bloated.
I don't know. Maybe, I just digest them better, when fully cooked and the protein is already denatured.
It's not unusual, to have issues after cutting something out completely for a while, though. Your gut microbiome changes and adapts with your diet. Then you reintroduce something suddenly and boom, everything is an uproar.
Congrats on that impressive weight loss, btw 💪👏👏👏
I love love love Dhru!!! Love your smart interviewing style and you always ask the right questions and have the best guests. Definitely my favorite podcast since the first time I saw him interviewing Dr Terry whals
Second this lady I never heard of her until this podcast and she seems so on point . Very smart ! Thank you great great episode
extended fasting....thats the KEY
I really need to do more extended fasting as my weight is going up & down. I've done as long as a 44 hr fast but really want to do a 72 hr fast to see what results I get. Any advice?
Thanks for this gift of JJ I appreciate your wisdom and how you break it all down for us ❤
Excellent Interview, Great Guest!
This was an AMAZING episode!! So much important information and given in a very easy to understand format. She is lovely and my new favorite person. Dhru …. I love the way you interact and your thoughtful questions and insights. Can’t say enough wonderful things!!
You can not make a Dexa every month that is ridiculus and dangerous. You should only do a Dexa every 2 years or so. What kind of advice is that??
I tried Greek yogurt and gained 5 pounds. Terrible. I also went back on estrogen replacement because low estrogen creates belly fat. I am a work in progress.
Her saying "I'm 60" made me go " shivers!" Off to go to do deadlifts 😂
What a fantastic “all round”discussion, so easy to digest lol ❤thank you both
Calories should be tracked like finances, don't spend more than you have or else you go into debt or get fat in this case.
Hi Dr. Mindy. I am a 67-year old female who is long past menopause. I have not eaten breakfast since I was 15 years old, so I could argue that I have been "intermittent fasting" for most of my life, but just didn't know it. I work out with a trainer twice a week. My diet wasn't very healthy, so at a starting weight of 155 lbs. (I am 5'7" with a small frame, I wanted to lose about 15 to 20 lbs. I discovered your channel and purchased both of your books. I decided the one meal a day route was best for me because, as stated, my body was already used to a regular 16 to 18-hour fasting window. I have done well on one meal a day for the last 6 weeks or so and I have lost 12 lbs. so far. I feel great. I haven't had any hair loss or skin breakouts, and I sleep great. I am not at all stressed and I have tons of energy so far. My concern is getting enough nutrients long term. My plan is that after I lose the next 5 lbs., I will add back a late lunch so that I can get adequate nutrients. What are your thoughts and recommendations for someone in my situation?
This guest is not Dr Mindy Pelz.
Thanks Dhru, its been a great conversation! ❤🙏
From what I’ve read and watched some people say lose the weight before doing weights for older women because of the inflammation the weight training can cause will be counterproductive to the weight loss, and honestly, I’ve been following the weight training and HIIT workouts along with a very healthy, clean high protein diet for almost a month now and haven’t lost a lb.!! I feel great, but I’m not losing the belly fat. So, maybe there is something to this? I have always loved weight training and will always do it, but I’m about to back of a bit, because is this, and just do what I was doing… moderate exercise every day and eating correctly, sleeping well and getting my water in!
For weightlifting are you doing progressive overload? If you are only doing high reps with your weights you are doing more endurance/cardio and not getting the max benefit that building muscles brings to the metabolism. For stubborn fat try doing 24, 48, 72hr fasts. A good book for women on fasting is “Fast like a girl”
@@Charlie7674A yes I am. I’ve done weight training for many years. It’s weight training I’m doing, not cardio.
She looks great!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge... much needed. The struggle is real. You are appreciated
Excellent interview
I was around when Twiggy came in. When less than 20% population was overw. But ironically now the public often believes someone is losing too much weight when they have achieved their goal wt - which could easily be bmi 25!
Haven't found a protein powder that I can handle. On the couch with cramps all day.
Try goat protein powder, it’s better for your stomach… if you can handle the taste.
I like the taste of the goat protein powder and prefer it to other protein powders. I also only Like natural protein powder with no added flavors or sugars.
And whey gets digested fast and can spike your insulin. Soy can negatively effect testosterone. Haven’t heard of goat before
Sun Warrior
I’m not a doctor but if you are not moving at all and walking helps you move do it. I’m not a weightlifting person but I plan on trying but for now walking has help me move and not just set in the house. I want to ask these experts one question were we weightlifting in 1800’s and before?
The change anyone can make is eat slowly til you feel full and then do not eat anything at all no snacks til after 4 hours. Drinking water or lemonade is cool. And you can avoid eating after 6 pm if you need to eat just have a clear soup. Oh doing this estimates 1kg of weight gone in 2 weeks. Good luck to everybody. 😅
Lemonade is soda. Not recommended, only water.
Maybe they mean lemon water?
Thanks so much for this! I'd never heard of this fabulous woman before and I'm so glad to have come across her. This was all so informative and i must just mention how wonderful she looks!
See I knew I have to lose weight to exercise and diet
I just had a food sensitivity test last week. Looking forward to getting my results soon!
The amount of radiation used in DEXA scans is very low and similar to the amount of radiation used in common x-rays. Although we all are exposed to ionizing radiation every day from the natural environment, added exposures can slightly increase the risk of developing cancer later in life.
When an interview is this long please break it into chapters and topics with time stamps!
I’ll have to skim through the transcript. Just don’t have two hours. 😂😉
What is the name of the free tracking app again?
Chrono meter food app. I had a look, it does seem to be a calorie counter. I didn't download it.
Thank you so much for caring for us women after our 40s. You have amazing info Thank you 💙
If sleep is so important why will no one tell us how to get to sleep and stay asleep?
1-2 Tbs of ACV in a cup of water 20-30 mins before bed has really helped my sleep
Magnesium glycinate has been helping me with sleep.
Stop using your phone at night
Research interviews on RUclips with Matthew Walker
Great interview! I'm curious how JJ feels about hormone replacement therapy For menopause and its effectiveness in maintaining muscle and health after menopause. ...and whether or not she is on it herself?
A relative was on Ozempic for type 2 diabetes, she had a side effect of horrible constipation. She did lose weight, but that side effect was too much.
This is such an awesome video. I have been following everything and have seen great progress so far.
does taking estrogen and progesterone therapy increase weight gain?
How does fasting "damage" one's metabolism? Fasting heals mitochondria. Studies have shown that diet is the most important factor in weight loss, NOT resistance training. Still, exercised muscle is filled with mitochondria and that is critical to your BMR. "Track" what? Track prey? Track escaped cons? We've got the verb but not the noun. Track calories? Track macros? Track exercise? Track your weight? Track body composition? Track lab values? Track your measurements? Track your feelings? Wish I knew what you were talking about. She tells people to "break their fast with a loaded protein smoothie" after she tells us that fasting causes damage to our metabolism. Which is it? My friend has been on Ozempic for 4 months now... he's lost 4 pounds, still eating and drinking alcohol and so depressed (a side effect) he's on the verge of suicide... seems like a high price to pay for a drug that has cost him $5000 so far. Semaglutide is a bandaid... not a cure.
