- Isabella Rossellini: actress, director, and naturalist, presents a surprising take on mothers. Of many kinds.
Actress and model Isabella Rossellini recently wrote, directed, and starred in a series of short films, Green Porno, about the reproducing habits of various bugs and animals. Green Porno premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, ran as a Sundance Channel series, and was adapted for stage in her one-woman show in 2014. As a model, Rossellini has appeared on the cover of numerous magazines; portraits of her by many of the world’s leading photographers are documented in her art book Looking at Me. Rossellini’s film credits include White Nights with Mikhail Baryshnikov and David Lynch’s Blue Velvet. She has been honored by the George Eastman House for her work in preserving the films of her parents, Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini.

"the secret is diversity, not perfection" genius!
I wish there was a love button. I love that she is so beautiful and not taking herself seriously!
Wonderful.
She's just a miracle.
And do not demand scientific certainty from her.

Buffissimo. Isabella Rossellini e' veramente comica. Purtroppo ci sono quelli che non la capiscono.
What a charming and entertaining presentation. Mrs. Rossellini presents her argument based on Darwinian forces, but she neglects the contribution of civilization. Darwin's world is truly bloody and inhuman, it is survival of the fittest. But as mankind becomes more civilized, more self aware, Mandkind moves away from uncivilized behavior to behavior more supportive of the family unit. It is not enough to just have an offspring. Civilized society must provide for the care and nurturing of that offspring until adulthood. In the animal world children are thrust out into the world as soon as possible, whereas mankind invests a tremendous amount of time and effort training a child who can contribute to society. While the underlying forces are always present in a person to play out their instinctual programming, civilization moves to overwrite those instincts with behavior that promote monogamy, common courtesy, and heathy family units. Darwins theory is not survival of the fittest, your should read it carefully, its NATURAL SELECTION!
@@denisegreene3675 Oh my...
Animals have all sorts of civilizations just like humans. Civilization helps protect genes and get them replicated. For just one example that would disprove you ideas, wolves continue living with their parents for 3 years, which is approximately the same percent of their life that humans live with their parents.
Nice presentation, very creative! Good actress, humanitarian, former model and down to earth, beautiful inside and out, not to mention highly intelligent. But would that other struggling artists had her money and connections to do what she does! Not all do. The children of celebrities i.e. actors have to prove their talents, but name recognition, money and connections to help one get their foot in the door in the first place, sure helps! Just sayin'
She has returned to Lancôme now that 50 is the new 30.
