I accidently bought a 36 pack of watercolour pencils, obviously never used these at all, and i was about to return them. I decided at last minute to watch this video and now, I decided to keep them!
Just got these and i'm fascinated with the way the pigment liquifies! It's honestly amazing!

I got a 36-set of these pencils for Christmas, and they're amazing! Much easier to control than normal watercolor paints (But I still love those, too), and the colors are some of the most vibrant I've seen, especially the blues! I've been very happy with them so far. :)

I have Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer and Albrecht Dürer Magnus, Caran d'Ache Museum Aquarelles, Derwent watercolor, Derwent Inktense (not really watercolor but throwing them in here anyway), and Prismacolors. While I absolutely adore the Museum Aquarelle, I still think that as far as value for money and overall flexibility, the Prismacolor watercolor pencils can't be beat. I started using them many years ago when I was looking for a less cumbersome way to travel, and now I'm in love with watercolor pencils as a medium.
Very nice video. I actually learned a few things here! I just got my first set of 12 watercolor pencils an I had no idea that they were so versatile. I didn't know you could wet the brush and pull color off the pencil tip for when you are on the go, that is neat! Thank you so much, your video really helped me a lot.

Just bought these(36 piece), along with the 132 piece soft lead set, and the 36 piece verithin set. Amazing pictures by the way!
@Nijichan3 Yes - the watercolor are available in 36 colors. You can buy them in sets or individually. The regular Prismacolor pencils come in many more colors.

Thanks for all the ideas on using watercolour pencils! I got some as a gift. They aren't Prismacolor, but if I don't like mine after trying out various methods I may buy these next time around or wait for one brand to be on sale... and the blending marker is a brilliant idea!
@LoricaLady The colorless marker does not have its own web page, but when you type in Prismacolor Colorless marker, the first result is Prismacolor Premier Double-Ended Marker. @maecbea I'm not sure if I understand your question...for blending watercolor pencils all you need to do is use water.

@LoricaLady It is fine to leave your pencils out in the open, this will not affect their texture or working properties.
