Hey Sophie and Andy, we are both sitting here watching your video. A bit late, we know, but we've been enjoying the sun. You said someone else was your number one fan 😂😂 Lee and I looked at each other and was like WHAT!! We are your number one fans 😂😂😂😂😂 Lee said we are pulling your sticker off of our van now. Yes, we bought a sticker, so we have you with us when we are on the road. Anyway, we're enjoying watching you guys as usual. Sending you both good luck for house hunting. You both continue to make us laugh, so thanks for that. Hope you have good weather now. See you on the next one x
😂😂😂 please don’t pull the sticker off 😂😩 hahahaha! Thank you so much for buying one!!! You’re both absolutely the best people we could ask for to be there to support us and chat to, we truly love seeing your comments pop up! Are you on the road at the minute, or if not what’s the next trip? Hope you’ve been enjoying this glorious weather we’ve been having, Andy enjoyed it a little too much and is looking a little pink now, so we’ll be hiding inside the van working on it for the next couple of days. Take care both! X
Hi guy, I've been enjoying your van build, having built a van in lockdown, anyway I'm a independent mortgage broker, and I'll be happy to help with your mortgage, fee free obviously, keep up the good work, really enjoying following 😊
Thanks so much, we’re really pleased with how it has turned out, now just to get the water running! Cheers for watching and commenting, we really appreciate it ☀️
Looking very professional, great job. Glad to see you used a paper template, it makes it easy. Have a great time in Weymouth that is one of my favourite spots in the country. Hope the house sells quickly. Until next time bye-bye.
Cheers Roy Boy! Yeah we too love Weymouth, we walked some of the Jurassic coast today and never gets old! It was a comment on here that got me using the paper template, a lot of useful info in the comments! 🤚
Taking the van to Weymouth? That should road test the shower installation! With silicone, always use a damp cloth to smooth out. I didn't do it for years then tried it and sooo much easier. See Kingston Home Maintenance comment....xx
Yes we’re here in the van! Wanted to take it out on a good trip and also just road test for when we’re actually travelling. Yes we’re getting all the good silicone tips…now that it’s too late 😂 should have asked before!
I love your frustrations and the Mrs just giggles lol, so funny. Anyway I think instead of going through the pain of getting your paneling in, I would have built the two side walls outside as a cassette, cut all the bits you wanted, put everything on that's required then slotted the two side walls into place, then just dealt with the back wall. Something that has surprised me about all the van build channels is that I have never seen anyone use grp fibreglass to make their shower cubical, 100% sealed and water proof. Any crack on, doing a great job.
You know what that is a pretty good idea, I really need these types of tips before I start! 😂😂 Any advanced tips for the kitchen? That’s my next target! Haha
You using gas or electric? Again trying to climb into a small space with spanners and screwdrivers isn't easy, fit all your taps etc to sinks, hobs to worktops, before final fix, then you only have to fix to the pipe work to what ever source you are using 😉
Great job! I don't know if you are going to put a porta-potty in the shower or not, but a vent with a little 12V motor piped to the outside would be a good idea. You could put a hatch on the vent to waterproof it, or slated plates/louvres. Even if you are not having a toilet in there a [concealed] fan to get rid of the moist air/steam from the shower will prevent mold. Van dwellers use the bathroom to put their wet raincoats and muddy boots, so some sort of air extraction system will be good for that too. A composting toilet with a fluid separator is apparently the best bet in the toilet department, although they are very expensive, so I haven't tried one. I have seen some van builders that made their own.
This is really solid advice, thank you! I have been thinking about this and where to vent it, probably should have done that before! 😂 As for the toilet we are buying a Simploo.
@@lifeadventureprojects On principle I always use 12v DC wherever possible, and definitely if there is any water or dampness in the location. Fun fact, we went to England [from Australia] and stopped off in Dubai with the overnight hotel thrown in. We were amazed to see some 240 AC BARE wires near the taps on the bath. We were totally exhausted, so we didn't even change rooms. So we just "bathed" with "wet wipes" and saved a good clean-up at the London Hotel after landing ! :-)
Blimey!! Wet wipes certainly sound like the answer in that situation! 😂 I will be using 12v in that location, we will be using 240 via an inverter but only for specific plug sockets.
Your quickly learning valuable skills, and it's a pleasure to see. Making really light(,ish) work of rather difficult cuts , like that tile board in the shower. Bravo again. Looks superb 👌. The tiling in that w/c in the house looked pretty damn awesome too ! Really looking well this. Good job. Both of ye
Oi oiiiiii there back buzzzing, awesome job on the shower guys, congrats on escape to the country keep us posted if you get on, but old with house move, sorry to hear someone’s dented Ray, nice tiling also Sophie you’re a pro 😂 take care guys looking to next edition, take Care & enjoy your trip to Weymouth 🎉🎉🎉
Hey Mark, good to hear from you. How you doing mate? The trip to Weymouth didn't really go to plan, bit annoying! Ray is coming along nicely though, we are getting psyched!
Yeah we feel like we’re getting there now, it’s good to see some structure coming together and it’s the first big project that’s done in there now, so we’re feeling pretty good. Thanks for the continued support and the comment Si!
Haha thanks Hope, it actually feels like we are finally turning a corner… pretty certain the kitchen is and overhead units are going to be a killer though! Wish us luck! 🙌
Congrats guys looking really good!😊 we’ve only just started our build and this new channel…we find your vids really entertaining you seem a great couple 👍🏼
Congrats on starting the channel and a van build! Great steps to make in our opinion, life changing some say! 😀 Really appreciate you watching and the kind comments. ❤️
Oooh movie time 🍿 I dunno where you guys get the energy from, you've got so much going on. That's a smashing job on the shower room, you'll have to name it the TARDIS. You could have done with a Fugi kit for doing the silicone, makes it an easier job & your downstairs loo looks great as well 👍
Heyyyy Rich, pleasure to see you here as always ☺️the tardis is a great shout haha! We don’t know where we get the energy from either trust us 😂 pleased with how it has turned out though so now on to the next big project, probably the kitchen! And cheers for the tip on the silicone, we’ll remember that for the next one 😂 🙌🏻
Good Progress well done , you have to learn somewhere, but I do see one issue you might have your shower floor is flat and does not angle towards the plug hole so you will find it will always puddle up
Hey Michael, yeah I think the floor will end up being a problem, for now we will keep a squeegee in there to mop it down the drain. Should do the job in the short term, not sure I can face ripping the floor up lol
We are certainly going to try take the cats, we will be taking them on some test runs and see how they cope with a harness and being walked. I am told they adapt pretty quickly. Failing that, we will need to work through how they can be looked after at home.
Cheers Phil. Well to be honest just because we wanted to create more space in the toilet / shower area, plus adding in a pre-made base loses you quite a bit of height and at 5 foot 11 I would have ended up having to duck in the shower which I didn’t want.
Yayyyyyyy , well done guys , that looks fab , have fun in Weymouth , meouwww pussies , Yoshi Sox and Kirby send greetings , as do Vlad and I , see you soon on the next Vlog , oops nearly forgot , vroom vroom Ray ❤
FYI: If you paint something call "red guard", it'll make the surface water proof. - once you paint it, it'll look pink. Hope it helps.

Hey Andy, thank you so much for the kind offer. Have you been enjoying your van?
A top tip for you, when putting sealant down, use babywipes to smooth it off, saves using fingers.
Tip of the day!
Hopefully the move and the TV audition goes well. That shower is the bees knees
Thanks so much, we’re really pleased with how it has turned out, now just to get the water running! Cheers for watching and commenting, we really appreciate it ☀️
Got my fingers crossed for you that it all works out🤞
Love you guys. Shower looks fab. Hopefully see you both on tv. X

Shower is looking pretty darn good. Well done guys. 🙂
Cheers Ivan!! 🙌
As downstairs loo’s go, that one is pretty Pinterest worthy! Great video yet again guys!
Yeah Soph done a fantastic job, I was telling her tiling was really hard and she cranked it out like it was nothing… 😂

Great job guys, looking really nice.
If you get stuck with water not draining away, just park up on a kerb on the other side 😄

Great job
