That plastic is also available from a company called Altro, it’s called whiterock. we use it at work it’s used in hygienic areas as it’s impervious to germs and water etc.
I actually took the shower cubicle out of my van as it was more hassle using it. Having watched this, I may have to consider a reinstall . Cracking job both of you.
You can get magnetic fridge strip in a reel you could fix it round the shower edges and on a shower curtain to hold it in place and keep leakages to a minimum .steve
Top loading fridge, great keeps the cold in every time you open it up saves power. Mounting it under the kitchen worktop next to the sink a hinge up counter top allows great acces whilst saving haveing to have roll out sliders. Steve

Verry good for how you die the plastick but I wanna say, when you do tape 5mm of the corner, both sides.the whole lengt and do than the silicone, than you cleane it. You have a beautiful small line of silicone. Good job! I gonna save this movie
Just finished my shower build where i fitted a thetford electric flush toilet. Will be updating all my channel over coming weeks with a full van tour. You made it look easy Mel. I found it a right pain in the &@!£ to cut them pvc sheets and line them up lol
top vid as usual Mel, fwiw its best to use circles of adhesive as this causes as slight suction effect to the panel and then a air lock helping it stick to the wood panel, about the size of a large tin of paint works best
Yep it's tricky getting it all to fit together without any gaps but I love my shower. Mine has ducted hot air from diesel heater so the towels are kept nice n dry. Fit a propane water heater with thermostatic taps and it's home from home. Oh you need a none return waste valve OR fit a shower waste with push up waste to close it or you will find last night's washing up water in your shower tray!!
I did the same in my camper and it worked great. Been up for 3 years. Mine was called hygiene wall and got it off ebay. Think it cost me about £50 to do the whole shower and my shower room is a bit bigger than this. Your silicone job is better than mine though! 😊

I could hear the ticking of that dosing pump like a wall clock. You need the rubber bush to solve that. Great job with the shower cubicle. If you remove your burner Mel, the fridge will need relocated.

What kind of panels were used on the wall that the plastic sheeting is glued to? They look like a bunch of plywood panels seamed with a white tape. Great job, love that handy donut scribe tool!
the sheets were marine ply and I put plastic tape over the screw holes to make sure that no water could get into the woodwork/battening behind. The plastic sheets were from a UPVC company and it's 2mm thick so nice and easily flexible.

I always put a line of masking tape either side of any joint I'm putting mastic into, then when you're finished pull the tape off leaving a lovely straight edge.
It’s best to use a tool and make a angled joint with silicone when it’s required as a water barrier. The tool makes a solid triangle bead with no thin edges. When you use a finger you make the join concave and the edges are really thin and the cloth wipes out all the sealant from where you really need it.

I used this stuff in my van shower.. white sparkle high gloss.. www.eurocell.co.uk/homeowners/interior-products/decor-cladding Being hollow it acts as an insulator and blows around the sides of a Transit with no probs.. plus they do all the edging for it as well.. Glad she is not putting a door on shower.. I have but i leave it open all the time.. Cheers Bud
To silicone like a professional do not follow this advice, get a fugi kit, and spray bottle with hot soapy water, clean surface with acetone, apply silicone in one go, do not go back and forth, get appropriate fugi tool, spray the bead with soapy water, remove excess with fugi tool being sure to not over fill the tool with excess silicone and wipe away nessasary. If done correctly it will look like a factory finish. 👍
Agree with you David, a Fugi tool is the way to go to get a really good professional finish to your silicone beading. Loads of videos on RUclips about this.

Your supposed to put em in warm/ boiling water to heat them up that's why silicone is so hord to use in the UK because it's so sunny and warm here (he says from a van at -6degrees c)
Just quick question... Is the flue for the burner fitted the right way up? it looks as if the upper section is fitted over the lower?? It could be a trick of the light, but if not this could lead to tar & rain water tracking back down on to the burner, but i could be mistaken.

@@rogerrabbit6522 Yes the flue has to be 5” insulated on both lengths due to fire regs. I had a professional wood burner fitter install and supply all the equipment to make sure it was done properly 👍🏻🔥.

Not ok to drain on the road in any circumstance....it gives vanlifers a bad name...over grass etc where its not seen is better but ideally it wants collected and put down drain

mel make suggestion use ct1 to seal all the edges up and joint it 100% water proof silicon and will stop all leaks from shower

Just a tip for mastic always start at bottom to top and spray with water to remove surplus

Spray soapy water over silicone then , wipe off with silicone tool.much smooth and clean,

As far as I know yes as long as you only use bio degradable products 👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld indeed, but most products are bio now, in fact there are very few that are not, during the last drought the local Water authority were advising their customers to let the washing up water and dishwasher water go on to their land because it would do the plants the world of good.
