I got my 2022 HTC 2LT, Red Mist, Z51, in February 2022. Like yours, mine came through without the Park Assist Module. It’s 2/26/2023 and nothing has been out about the Retrofit for the Park Assist. Have you or anyone else, heard anything about the Park Assist Module? Thanks It’s Winter and the stones and anti-skid material are still on the roads in PA. C8 will not see the Highway until Late April or Early May. (Until the stones are cleaned up!)
Nice ride! ok, I just got on the list and am projecting to be getting a 2024 Vette. I know it sounds like waiting 2 years is a long time but I am saving up the money to put down about half the price of the car. Thats just my strategy. So, maybe I missed it but why did the car break down? That was a little concerning.
Save up for sure! Current market for vehicles is a roller coaster ride to say the least! I did realize I didn’t talk about what happened, I’ll post up a video later, but in short, check engine light came on, got the car checked and the transmission was fine for (1 month old with 600 miles) and ended up getting a new transmission installed.
haha! Yes I did hear that few times when I mentioned I let the transport guy drive it. But after speaking to him for several days throughout the transport I felt pretty confident letting him take his daughter for a ride around the block!
Lol major fail. The hard top convertible is the way to go on the C8’s. I don’t have the motivation or need the manual labor to remove the targa top. A huge pain in the asssss. Plus no vent issues with rain/water pooling into the engine bay

So in my case there wasn’t a charge, my transmission went out and it had to be replaced so while the back end was taken apart I asked the mechanic if he could install it and he said yes. I had asked around my area In south Texas and got quoted at $300

Couple questions , 1, ...I put a deposit down on a 2022 C8 back in Sept 2021 , Just contacted the dealer he saying I'm bout 2 months away from picking my options then 8 weeks from there he did tell me however it will be a 2023 which is fine accept the price he said is $65, 595 for the base 1LT which he had told me last Sept the base was $62,500 Does that sound ethical ? I put my deposit down for the 2022 its not my fault I got pushed back to 2023 and am waiting this long , feels like their thanking me for my patience by jacking the me up in price , Really messed up

From what I’ve experienced ordering 2 C8’s (a 2021 and a 2022) yes although you intended (& put a deposit before the price change) to buy a car at a certain price, the price increase comes from GM for base MSRP and options and accessories have been increasing in price every year. When I put my deposit down for this one I placed the deposit February 2020, however by the time I was next to order (2 yrs later) there were already price increases and the dealer had nothing to do with them since at the time the dealer was not marking up and honoring MSRP. So I moved forward knowing that there had been an increase in price by GM and no markup from the dealer. I don’t see anything unethical about that, however if you were agreeing to a specified markup and then when the time comes to order the dealer increases the markup, then that would be unethical. But unfortunately for price changes by GM the dealer has nothing to do with those.
For your other question, I’ve been caught in the rain and the car is perfectly fine, no issues but you will see the engine bay wet. I personally wash my car with a pressure washer and the water tends to run down the inlets and not fall directly onto the engine. I wouldn’t worry about it, just don’t take it to touchless or drive through car washes.
@@lower5th811 Yes I was thinking of maybe throwing a couple beach towels in when I wash it, I'm surprised this wasnt addressed or someone to make some aftermarket type of kit to put over the engine compartment or click in ova it when washing or out in the rain
I’ve been told to do that but I never have an issue with the engine or components getting wet when I wash it. At least not a concerning amount, I just take a cloth and wipe it down and that’s it.
I would agree on the cheap looking plastic, would’ve been better in carbon flash but I hope to swap the spoiler and side skirts with some ACS composite ones.

I bought it from a Chevy dealership, and no I did not receive any voucher, the car has a functioning rear view camera.

I did see that it would need to be retrofitted later on but I wasn’t notified of when. I would have to look into it myself.
