Great video. Way to slay the kings. How far out of Packery were you? Also, I think you passed me heading south on Hwy 77 this past Saturday, a good ways north of Victoria. I was towing a Sea Foam color 22' Sea Hunt.
Thanks! We typically got 10-15 miles out depending on the conditions.
Whats your range you can run? I havent gone more than 10 miles out in Mako yet. 18 gallons of gas on 75 merc Mako proskiff 17
We don’t venture out much more than 25 miles into the Gulf. Fuel wise, we have a 50 gallon tank and a 150hp Mercury motor. We can go about 60 miles one way and have plenty of reserve fuel, at least in the bay.
Great video! Is your boat a Mako? looks similar to my bay boat, I have a 191 mako.
Thanks! No it is a 23’ advance outdoor boat.
If you want to make a run in mako we can take mine lol
What kind of weather report do you look for when taking bay boat off shore?
Is that the packery channel
Yes, it is.
how fast do you troll?
Around 5-6 mph.
That was a Spanish you threw back that you were calling a juvenile king
We went out there and trolled for and hour for kingfish and got nothing about a month ago
It is hit or miss this time of year, unfortunately. We’ve been out 2 times since this video but didn’t have any luck either.
Y’all are releasing dead fish lol
Bold strategy dangling a baby king over the gunwhale by hand
Sharks don't exist in this water. Trust me, I have tried many times to catch them but never have.
