Kingfish bite about anything and are easy to catch. We tried to avoid catching Kings because although fun to catch, they are not really good eating. We preferred, dorado, red snapper, grouper, amberjack, and wahoo.

Try out the rapala xr-14 xraps in vibrant colors like pink and orange never miss a hook up and they got strong hooks and aren’t hard to reel in like the big lipped lures!

    Hello,
Nice video. I know this video has been a while but Can you let me know what the green lure you are using? Do you remember the lure name? I start going for kingfish next season and doing some research. TIA.

How far out are you ?

Suggestion: Don't fish so close to those stand pipes, try about 60 feet away and cast towards them. You are risking a big fish taking off with your bait into the ironwork and loosing him. Also, try using bigger bait than what I saw, like 3X larger at least.

    • @AnotherFishTail

Not trying to but in but if you are going to fish offshore run with a buddy and another boat or have twin engines, breaking down offshore could cost you your life without anyone there to lend you a hand. I blew an engine one day but fortunately we had two boats so everything worked out. The gulf is a lonely place when you have a problem and no one is around.
