    I did a bunch of helium leak testing on this platform like 15 or 20 years ago when working for the Weatherford guys out of Lafayette and Texas.

    Nice video. You should try a long range trip out san deigo for 150lbs plus yellowfin tuna in November December January. A 200lb plus yellowfin tuna could take over 2 hours to land.

    No wonder the worlds fish are being decimated.. look at the damage one boat did. Down here in New Zealand everyone’s catching on and starting to practice catch and release style fishing. Take one home for a feed!! Fish for tomorrow!!

      Lol, come fishing and see the fish population for yourself. I'm from Texas our department of Fish and game regulate our fisheries very well. TEXAS eats beef population does not eat a lot of fish. I invite you to Texas to go fishing, conservation groups all across the state watch our wildlife and fisheries it's a resource we value.

      Thr damage is from commercial factory boats that can haul hundreds of tons of fish per haul, cutting, skinning, fileting, them all in th4 factory boat. When they dock, fork lifts just remove stacks of fish filets all frozen and ready for restaurants. One trip can haul a thousand tons. Those mile wide sein ourse nets catch everything in luding dolphins and sea turtles. All killed. Long lines 3-5 mules long baited with thousands of hooks catch everything indiscriminately. Those factory ships kill more in one trio than 100 sports fishing boats would do in a year.

      SwingerVic we use avet reels but the boat had gear too. 60lb rod with 60lb test on an avet hx or HXW raptor. The blue reel Megan uses is a three speed avet hx raptor

    Cool video. I miss fishing the rigs. Does this trip do any bottom fishing during the day or do they just troll for tuna during that time?

    • @FishForageHunt
      @FishForageHunt  4 года назад +1

      Too deep to bottom fish there. Just trolling during the day. Most of the fishing is done at night.

    • @FishForageHunt
      @FishForageHunt  3 года назад +2

      Matt, we used Penn Special Senators 6’6” 80-100lb with roller guides (that we honestly picked up at a yard sale) in tandem with an Avet HX Raptor and a Avet LX Raptor. Do invest in some flying fish lures. They were hitting them big time on the top water when we were there in November.

      If you can find them again your end, CalStar and BlackSteel are usually go to makes for long range boats out of San Diego going south to west coast of Baja. I have several CalStars and they are tops. Black Steels rods are super, too. We use Shimano 50 wides thogh I personally use. PENN International 70 wide, Avets, some Penn and Daiwas.
