14:25 is a big cobia or AJ ? Done this 30 hr trip twice last spring, was a blast, they are booked out for 2021, got on cancellation list, would do this trip every month if they had open spaces. YF tuna are the priority, but tuna are typically a lure and line shy fish, you usually need a floro leader. You have to determine what the YF bite is. Is it top water lures that day or night ? Or, what lures by jigging. Jigging is usually black fin tunas (smaller), but certainly nothing to be ashamed of, you can catch a slews of BF tuna one after another with the right lures and jigging technique. If the Kings are out in force you will likely get bit off a lot and may have to switch to wire leaders (or loose a lot of expensive lures). Guy next to me on 2nd trip got bit off 3x in a row by Kings. On 1st trip, guy just to my right put a old, dead dried fish out of a rubber maid trash can (chum bait) on his hook at the 30 mile stop and boated a massive grouper, was so big he could not hold it straight up for the photos. Many guys seem to catch more tuna when the cold fronts start rolling in. But if you happen to get big seas (or constant rain) on your trip it could be miserable - - - you never know what the weather will be until 12 to 24 hrs. before departure. Unless you are "hardened", you better bring prescription trans-derm patches put behind your ear to prevent sea sickness.
Cool! Just get in line early. Like 6:30 so you'll have a seat inside the boat. If not you'll be outside. Take a blanket. It gets cold inside.👍good luck hope ya catch some nice ones🐟🐬
So why do they hang their fish up to rot in the sun? Does it make the meat better or something. We don't do that in California. We bleed it immediately before icing it down for about 45 mins and then fillet it and seal-a-meal it. May your way is better but I don't need any cat food.
Back in the 80's used to be a boat called the Ranger 5 that did tuna trips. Went a few times and had absolute blast. Too old now.

Please turn your clickers off when reeling in, it's annoying. Thank you.
@@dojo1249 ok sir will do. 😞 tight lines
What size braided line is recommended for the spin reels? I see that it's 80 lb braid for the conventional reels.
80lb braid on spin reels works fine. 💪
How much do the fish cleaners charge to clean the fish? TIA
I'm not sure bro. I usually just take mine home. 👍🐟
@@ReelAffliction no worries, thanks
They got a no braid rule ?
No. You can use braid. I have meterd braid on my reels.
I thought it was a tuna trip? Doesn't seem like many tunas were caught
Lol. It turned out to be an Aj trip.
Post a link to the boats website
