- Big schools of sand eels brought bluefin and yellowfin tuna to the fishing grounds south of Block Island in big numbers in the summer of 2023. On this trip, Captain Rob Taylor leads the way to a banner day of tuna fishing, targeting them with jigs, and looking for "small life" to find fish outside the fleet.

Man, what an epic episeode. I was stuck the whole time. Love that you guys are catching on lighter spinning gear. Im not one for conventional. Thats awesome to see that as an option!
Catching fish like that on those light set ups looks epic !
Another great episode! How far south of Block did you guys need to go to find the fish?
nothing better... need that
Epic day! Epic Episode!
Great job guys! Loved the action and the comradery.
What kind of rods were those man they are impressive. I use a little larger gear with conventional reels with 40 pound line using penn reel and shimamo talevera rods which I recommend highly

Great Job guys,
Why not use the twin power 10,000pg? Has more cranking power than the 14000 xg doesn't it?

That day, I lost a 400lb BFT 5 mi S of Land's End Newport. Hooked on 9 oz speed jig on 30lb mono on a 7ft HMCF spinning rod with a Penn 704. Insane! I got it below the boat to get a look about 30' down. Popped the line, but man, was it fun!
What size twin powers were you using?
What was the drag on the reels set at? Thank you.
What type of rod is that
