- In today's video we launch the Hobie Outback and explore extremely shallow water tidal grass flats absolutely loaded with bait fish drawing in huge numbers feeding Redfish and Speckled Trout. Uising Topwater and Soft Plastic lures we enticed several into biting for an action packed day on the water.

Always on em great Redfish action & drama tic music that goes along!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
Once you experience sight fishing like this, it makes deep water fishing boring, imo.
Thanks for bringing back good memories. Awesome video!
It is definitely one of my favorite styles of fishing and no matter how many I catch, it never gets old!
That's one reason I prefer fly fishing in Salt.
@@rudyruiz9521 Thats actually something Ive really been wanting to get into
I love when they are that shallow… it’s a beautiful sight
Yeah buddy! Always surprising how camo they can be in 6 inches of water.
I am envious can't believe you can catch so many big reds and trout just back to back. Love you video's Jaceman keep up the good work!!!!!!!
Thanks. Glad you like them! 👍
wish i was home, this is a prime time even though we have had a lot of rain and heat.
Always prime time 🤣
One of your BEST videos! I normally hate shallow grass because of grabbing so much grass, but you gave me new confidence!
Thanks! Yea it can be challenging to fish grass but also very productive.
I can tell you have had some great teachers on and off the water. Since I found you in the last few weeks I have binged your videos 😂 you cover alot of water and that is key the finding the bait and or fish. Please don't stop doing what you are doing
@@chrisbrown7220 Haha, thanks. Ive been fervently fishing since I was 4 years old trying everything I can to find what works for me. Still absolutely love it, have no intentions of slowing down. Appreciate the kind words!
Nice video thanks for sharing your experience!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Great fishing...love it when you are having fun!
Thanks, thats what its all about!
Great video before the storm. Keep'em coming! Be safe!
Thanks! You too.
OMG, that looks like so much fun!
Fun indeed 👍
Much appreciate your videos and the quality, tight lines brother!
I appreciate that! Tight lines.
Really enjoy your videos. Can't wait to be in CC next month.
Thanks for sharing your fishing experiences.
Thanks. Have fun!
Great vid Jake. Gotta love site casting them 🎣
Thanks buddy. Absolutely, sight casting never gets old!
Awesome video, excellent fishing right there ! Catching quality Trout when not even targeting them !!!
Thanks 👍 Theyre often a bi-catch when targeting reds.
Super satisfying video 🙏🏽 one of the best content creators in my opinion
Appreciate that!
Heck of a day!
@@sotoaj9613 💪
Dang! Once again, a great video! You’ve caught more fish in this video than i have caught the last four years!
Thanks!
Awesome video!!!!
Thanks!!
Awesome video as usual bud...
Thanks! 👍
Great thumbnail & video man🔥
Appreciate that brotha 👊 Apparently a few others really dig it as well. Ive had a couple YT copy catters lurking, lol.
I like that music in the start👍👍 Also nice fish😁
@@Action_Reelz thank you!!! ❤️👍👍👍👍
Wow redfish that aren’t spooked if you breathe. Lucky you man!
Anytime redfish are in shallow water theyre very skittish. I was very methodical in my approach. Most people move way too fast from my observation.
Made me smile...like I was in the yak with you. Great experience!🙂
Thanks. Glad I could share the immersion.
Yet another great video. Do you have one where you discuss fishing kayaks, either in general or your particular setup? Thanks.
Thanks. My setup isnt anything special. Just a Hobie Outback. I may do a vid on the setup in a future vid. Open to any specific questions if you wanna shoot em my way.
Man that’s pretty awesome! That’s some shallow water wish I could get that shallow with the boat.
Hey thanks buddy! They're a blast to catch up shallow. Hows the fishing been lately over there?
@@Jacemang_Outdoors red snapper has been slow but inshore has been pretty good.
Awesome video man you sloter theme
Thanks 👍
What test of line are you fishing on your spinners? Looks like you can really horse em in. And is it braid or mono? Hell of a morning you had, stay safe with the weather!
15 lb braid to a 20 lb flourocarbon leader most of the time. Thanks. Be safe!
A lot of YT videos...most of them really, are just some pictures of some guy reeling in a few fish. Yours get a real fisherman's blood boiling. This one was even better than most. I appreciate a "beautiful day on the water" as much as the next guy, but show me the fish.
It probably goes unnoticed by people who don't make content, but you've gotten relly good at managing your light and camera angles. That's a lot harder than it looks , especially when you're seated in a kayak. It's really nice work.
Yea there are definitely alot of added elements in filming vs just fishing. I try to capture my adventures with camera angles in mind. Glad you enjoy the vids and appreciate the comment!
Another good one love! ❤ I have a question though, where is this at?!?! 😅😊😘
Thanks. You a spot sniper now? 🤣🤣
@@Jacemang_Outdoors 😆 I don't have to be! 😘
Hope you did ok for Beryl, seemed like it hit Houston more than Corpus. I was wondering if you could make a video talking a little bit about your gear. What kind of rods and line and all that. I live in San Antonio and I've been watching a bunch of your videos and being a complete noob when it comes to fishing I have become very interested in going down to Corpus for some fishing. Keep up the great videos!
Yea Corpus was fortunate, storm moved east last minute. I try to sprinkle gear overviews into the vids. I can do a dedicated gear vid in the future. The down n dirty is just go fish and use what feels comfortable. There is no substitute for experience on the water. Medium action rod, with baitcaster or spinning reel of choice can catch anything inshore. Let me know if I can answer specific questions you may have. Tight lines!
@@Jacemang_Outdoors sound advice my friend. I’m going to head to academy and get myself a basic setup and get out there. Your videos really inspired me to start fishing again. Thanks for the advice.
🤘🤘
👍
I wouldn't cry about those big trout.after two or three big reds don't want no more lol.
Oh I enjoy catching trout too, but I have to commentate 🤣
Sorry didn't mean complain great videos 👍
@@user-mj5ko7jw3x Thanks!
Reds love skinny water.
👍👍
What bait do you use to catch the red fish?
I like to mix it up, always trying stuff. My go-to have been Texas Made Lures paddletails and Egret baits paddle tails.
What's your setup? Rod ,reel, line etc thx
I run various setups, I definitely have way too many rods and enjoy mixin it up. Medium action rod with 2500 series spinning reel or equivalent baitcasting setup with 15 to 20 lb braid is my go-to inshore rig.
Is that daiwa rod the medium fast or medium light extra fast ?
Medium Fast
I fish all the same spots you do. I dont think theres a single spot you’ve fished that I havent been to. I think only the famous ship channel video (last video) Id never seen. Only took a few minutes on Google maps to find it.
The spot doesn’t matter for the people asking, it’s the ability to see the patterns and find the fish. I know because Ive been to all these spots and get skunked lmao. He’s not just hooking up because its a good spot, its because he knows how to find fish and use his lures effectively.
Id love to learn from you man. I got an Outback spent a lot of time at Brown and Root. Bought a n Ankona Skiff last month been learning to sight fish but its a work in progress. Was on some tailing reds this past weekend and couldnt convince a single one to bite. Frustrating.
Thats cool, Ive been in the area a year so trying to explore different fisheries. I generally fall back on fundamental fish behavior given the season and conditions to find fish. Im also a power fisherman so I generally move alot to cover water. Fish are usually feeding somewhere and it might not be someone's favorite spot. I try to explain this principle to spot snipers but they dont listen lol. I appreciate the awesome comment. Maybe we will run into eachother on the water!
@@Jacemang_Outdoors I guess I agree on what this perdon says, I've skunked a lot and I'm just trying to find a spot that'll make happy to fish and say I caught some good red
@@luismarquez9792 Thats the goal for all of us!
Where exactly are you at? I live in corpus and would like to try out some kayak fishing.
I fish Corpus and surrounding areas. You definitely should. Great fisheries and its a blast!
@@Jacemang_Outdoors u didn't give the exact location lol
You live in one of the best fisheries in the world and cant locate fish? Whats with the spot sniping obsession in this region?
What brand is your kayak?
Hobie Outback
I wonder if there's a layer of trout above the redfish.
You're learning
This has gotta be the nueces side of CC doesn’t look like laguna
👍
where at corpus christi was this at?
@@cardsfan1342 Lake Tahoe
Can I get an email to ask some location and lure questions? My son and I spent 7 hours on ingleside on the bay and got nothing but an undersized red. Using mullet and a silver spoon…😢😅
You can message me anytime on Facebook or Instagram under same name "Jacemang Outdoors".

What bait caster are you using?
Lews LFS. Love the reel, was testing it on a new rod, still not sure how I feel about the rod.
Is it the speed spool LFS?
Yep, you a Lews fan?
Definitely, love the sound lol
The bait caster with the orange rod is the lews lfs correct?
Where was this @?

Can catch some good bass out there👍 and the occasional marlin
Haha. This is pure gold. Exactly how I feel like responding sometimes. I may have to re-use this one.
I hold the world record blue marlin out of Lake Tahoe!
