    Very nice. I never imagined so much engineering would go into something that looks so simple in the end. Great job.

      Thankyou. What's fun is that you can do it with any pot any size.

      I think he was being sarcastic with all engineering you want the engineering to be simple and the effect to look complicated

    Hummingbirds LOVE shallow dishes where the water runs as it does through an infinity pool, so I can see them loving this design. The color is very pretty too!

    Should the backflow be on the bottom of the pot? I think that would make more sense with minimal loss from the pot? I love tis idea.

      Either way works for tye back flow

    Hi again, Never got to this project but had all the parts in my garage for two years. I am trying to recreate what you have done and have it all setup now, basin installed and level, coated inside of big planter all in place. I will be refilling/topping off water manually not like your cool auto refill setup.
    Are you concerned that the water in the bottom 1/2 of the planter is not recirculated and is kind of stagnant or is it not? Does the hose sitting 6 inches from the top of the planter recirculate enough of the water in the full planter? I want to be sure all the water in the underground reservoir AND the full planter is recirculating often enough and was thinking of just bringing the pipe from the pump just into the bottom 3 inches of the planter and letting it fill from there.
    Also, do you think I need a backstop valve for my plan like you have on your hose? Thanks for any advise you have.

      @dieselmxtt  Год назад

      Hi. Either way will work. There is enough water flow through out the pot and yes I would add the backstop valve

    What type of back flow valve did you use? I keep looking up different backflow and check valves but am a little confused as to which one would be appropriate in this use. Thanks for the video and the ideas.

    • @dieselmxtt
      @dieselmxtt  2 года назад

      Any check valve will work. Its just a flap that opens and closes inside the pipe. Just make sure it doesnt have a pressure regulator inside as well. Some come with both. I picked mine up at an irrigation store but lowes and homedepot also sell them in the pump isle.

    hi, I installed a floating valve, attached to a PVC, attached to a hose bib, but the end with the floating valve keeps leaking, resulting in overflow. What valve do you recommend please? Also, do u install a pressure reducer somewhere? Thanks

    • @dieselmxtt
      @dieselmxtt  6 месяцев назад +1

      Some valves will have s pressure redcer built in wich is what I like because less pieces. Most likely that is why yours is leaking or the pressure may have broke it already.

    Sorry but I'm confused 😕. Does the entire pot fill with water then the saucer on top gets filled? Does it then flow down the outside and back into the black basin? I can't see the water moving in the last shot so I'm not sure what is happening. Looks lovely though!

    How are you keeping the weeds from coming through the landscape overtime? We’ve tried everything landscape fabric, plastic etc mulch best result was a combo of plastic and mulch

    • @dieselmxtt
      @dieselmxtt  2 года назад +1

      The main reason why weeds grow through mulch is because the mulch is not thick enough.... i put down at least 2in ......good quality weed fabric works great but not always needed
